I don't think a Christian man can marry a woman who is divorced for any other reason than adultery, without himself becoming an adulterer.

Thank you hun, you are a doll!
I was really lost at a time in my life in early 2015. I was in a huge depression and had a ton of anxiety because I wasn't living life God's way. I am far from perfect, and I am the first one to admit it. I was getting very verbally abused by my now exhusband, and didn't know where to turn, so I began to pray.
It wasn't very long after that, that I had met and talked to
RoboOp, who convinced me to join ChristianChat, and informed me that this would be a very welcoming and safe place to hang out. I talked with him for a short while all while crying, but after joining here and getting to know quite a few brothers and sisters in Christ, I just couldn't wait to wake up in the morning and have somewhere to go and talk with others here on serious topics, as well as have a blast laughing and just feeling like family .. having a place where I felt I belonged.
But, I dont feel that way at all here now, unfortunately.

No one is trying to make you feel like a heel, and by your initial post you haven't exactly helped your cause to defend yourself from scrutiny.

This is a Christian site, which means some of us have a Biblical stance, some of us walk with God, some of us believe in Scripture and its stance and expectations that those who are saved are sanctified, Hebrews 12:14 which without this it would mean the person has a false profession. Some of us then react biblically to your situation.

You should have expected a biblical response on a biblical forum. This type of response is not judging, as you have misused Matthew 7 as a cloak for your behavior, as if no one can say anything about it, or "they're judging!!" That is not the point of the text and doesn't fit into the balance of Scripture on this issue, 2 Timothy 2:15.

My prayer is you get your walk right with God. What you're doing is not virtuous and isn't representing Christ at all. Your need is Him above all else. You've come to the right place if you'd have ears to hear. Or, you can seek to have your ears scratched.
I do happen to know that this is a Christian site. Thanks to RoboOp, he convinced me to join almost 2 yrs before you came along.

Yea... that's why for the first few years I was here, I didn't designate myself as "christian" on my profile. They can often be the most heartless, condemning people.. :(

Check out what my signature says below.. it pretty much sums it up. (not the part about harpy eagle lol)

You're welcome! If you feel that this thread is getting too heated, you can join us in the other Singles threads. Just...don't go into the BDF. :/

Also...I may be going a bit off-topic here, but why does your signature say "Heat her"? :p

Roxxy, in case you missed the second part of my post..

My signature is a quote I once heard from a retired minister addressing legalism among christians and it says, "If you talk about scripture more than you talk about God, then you've missed the point."

It's a typo. It was supposed to be "Heater" and indicate she packs a "heater" or a pistol.

Nah, I'm joking. It's "Heather" but the "t" got a little bit too ornate it seems, so it winds up looking like two words, "Heat her."

Another thing that bothers me, is how some think that they are better than others.
My mother has always told me:
"No one is better than you, and you are no better than anyone else. We are all equal in this world." And I live by that. There is no one above ANY of us, BUT JESUS CHRIST.

Heather, it is good to see you back. And so sorry that you have gone through so much during your absence, including the death of your father.

But, I am concerned about you. One thing I learned in counselling, was that no matter what was going on in the marriage, or how bad it was, you still need lots and lots of time to recover. If you start dating, when the divorce isn't even through, you may end up "rebounding." That means, you will think the new guy is an improvement, but a year or two down the road, you will realize you have picked ex-husband #2! I tell no lies!

Have you sought counseling? This is a huge life change. Especially if you were abused, you really have to learn to see yourself and other people in a different way. And I am not judging, when I say I agree that if the divorce is not final, then it is a form of adultery, even if you don't go to bed with the guy. God does count marriage as marriage, even if it was a bad one.

So, just my opinion, but you should see a Christian counselor and try to work through a lot of things. And wait to start the dating game again, for your own sake. If you are lonely, find some girlfriends, or visit the aged, or volunteer with kids?

Anyway, God bless and I hope we can renew our friendship!

This is not directed at anyone specifically...

I don't know if people realize this, but divorces can take years and often do.... and I realize that the scripture says its only ok to marry AFTER a divorce...but she's not marrying anyone now is she..

I rest my case.
