I'm actually looking forward to what Tommy4christ has to say about this.
Oh, I can make a few guesses. :D

For those of you who know the photo of the girl with the green eyes, I read an article in which they went back to find her again and while she was several decades older (you might not recognize her as the same person at first), her eyes are just as stunning today.

As for women and their appearance--quick, guys, name the 3 hottest women you can think of.

I'm guessing these kinds of names come up: Megan Fox, Jessica Alba, and Kate Upton.

If you knew that's what guys (Christian guys too!) are hoping to wind up with, you'd feel as if you needed to do a lot of something and anything to try to "improve" your appearance too, often by any means necessary or available.

Eh..... top 3 women that I would want to "Wind up with" has nothing to do with "Hot"-ness. Hotness is about Lust.

There is nothing about Lust that has to do with beauty, or love.

Pam Anderson was "Hot" back in the day but, I don't know very many people that would consider her beautiful. The same can be said of Megan Fox, Paris Hilton, or Britney Spears.

I am apparently the odd-one-out. Even as a woman I've never dressed to be like someone else. I dress with what I am comfortable with. When I was married I did dressed some to try and please my husband. My Pastor's wife dresses to try and please her husband, but also likes to dress up with some new things that are in style. God made women to love dressing up, but I've never wanted to fall into the trap of trying to dress to please others, then you don't feel like yourself. But in all fairness God made men visual, so, women tend to want to please that visual part of men, of course as a godly woman in modesty.
Yeah, men are more laid-back in their approach to dressing. I've raised a son and daughter and it has been much easier pleasing my son when it has come to clothing and shoes:). It's a girl-thing and a guy thing, God made us different, that's for sure.

Though I can't say I even find many of these very 'hot', the idea is so true, I'll just replace megan fox with shakira and paris with kelly clarkson.

And yet, I dunno that I have any desire to be a part of any of their lives. :/

Well the main reason I think this is so is that women are constantly bombarded with messages from the media about what is ideal and attractive. Instead of realizing where true beauty lies, they are constantly force fed the lies that beauty comes about through an unnaturally slim body and tons of makeup and other "fashionable" clothes. I hate how the media spews that crap. They get rich of selling all this fake crap that is supposed to make women feel beautiful and it perpetuates the idea to the average woman that true beauty isn't attainable. Yet despite all the harm this causes, they don't really care because they're raking in the dough. It's just plain ridiculous.

I think this picture speaks to the contrast between what is Hot and what is Beautiful.

I don't think I really care about how others view me. "Those that mind won't matter those who matter won't mind" If I want to wear something casual I'll wear that if I want to dress up I will. I happen to love clothes though. But I like to go thrift store shopping meaning I'll buy a cute top that was originally 20 or 30 dollars and only spend 3 or 5 dollars on it. It's kinda like finding the diamond in the rough for me or one man's trash is another man's treasure :) It's kinda like an art project I'll find something that I think it awesome and I'll find some accessories and bam I've got a cute outfit for like $15. I'm not sure if that is relevant to what we are talking here. Also some people have to dress professionally for their job, which is where most of my dressy clothes come from so does that matter? I may be the weird one but I don't really believe in social hierarchy based on the price tag of your clothing but then again I wasn't like that in high school either I love fashion but people are more important than their clothing so I may just be the odd man out in my generation which is completely cool with me I'll rock it with my thrift store clothes

Thrift shops are great. I got a nice long black fall coat for 15 bucks at one, where it would have cost me around 150.00 to buy new

Op shops (thrift stores) are great for choice if you're female but if you're male I find there's very few options available.

My grandma likes to take me to thrift stores, but she likes to hold up pairs of neon green spandex pants and yell across the store, "RACHEL, DO YOU LIKE THESE??" ..."No, grandma. I'm good." She's being serious too.

Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these -Luke 12:27

Yet we were designed by God. Women are beautiful. No matter where they go, there is no accessory that can outshine what God has made. I don't think adding to beauty makes it any more beautiful, it simply adds stuff to it.

My best friend looks 95% like this girl.
