^ Hey; Don't let any of those people bring you down. It is like if I'd be telling them to stop listening to Hillsong, Michael W Smith and similiar bands like these because it is waay too pop-ish in genre, and why should God like listening to such music too? ;) :p They certainly would have been shocked in the biblical time by Hillsong too, and think it rather too noisy. ;) :)

Their is abdolutly nothing wrong with Christian screaming. Now just because a band screams doesn't make em screaming. Demon Hunter is not screamo. Howevertheir is nothing wrong with demon hunter. Here is why their is nothing wrong with Christian heavy music. Those who say its bad generally go to one or two Scriptures and here they are. The first is make a joyful noise unto the lord. Now what is joy? To me joy is praising God. No matter what the genre of music if its praising God then its joyful to him. When he said make a joyful noise unto the lord he meant praising him. Praising him is his joyful noise. Wichita if you want to look up the Greek and Hebrew translations of the words you will see that. Joyful noise u.to the lord doesn't mean hymns. It means praising his name. No matter how you do it. It doesn't even have to be about music. The second Scripture they turn to it be ye not conformed to this world. And I love when people say this Scripture because no one who uses it ever really knows what they are talking about. Lets look at the defenition of conformed. . to act in accord with the prevailing standards, attitudes, practices, now I'm no rocket scientist but if they are Christians truly are they living in the standard of the world? No they will live in the standard of god. Their attitude is not worldly they are happier, joyful, and loving unlike the world. They practice prayer reading the word and living as a Christian. That's notworldly. So by defenition if their hearts are true. Theyare not conformed to the world.

I started off in the metal/hardcore tough guy scene. Loved it, amazing people, amazing music, amazing ministry. I feel there is nothing wrong with heavier christian music. Although since then, my tastes have gotten softer with age, and i enjoi a healthy mix.

St Paul commanded us to sing songs and spiritual odes, making melody to the Lord, not to make screaming outcries like one who is possessed by Satan. For Satan and his own ministers transform into angels of light and act as the apostles of Christ.

I don't find anything in particular wrong with Christian Screamo music, I'm just not much of a fan of most Christian music and I don't like regular screamo that much.

I guess it really depends on how you define screamo as well.

Possibly the most ignorant statement on this thread..

Its possible that you are ignorant on this matter. Screamo music is not of God, no matter what kind of lyrics they say (scream). Their worldliness shall become apparent to all. You shall know them by their fruits. What are the fruits of screamo music? Making you feel worldly and making you want to have to do with the world. 1Jn 2:15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1Jn 2:16 Because everything that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not from the Father but is from the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world is passing away, and its lust; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

The divine Apostle Paul commands us, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind(Gr. NOUS), that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2)

1Co 2:12 Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, in order that we might know the things granted to us by God;
1Co 2:13 which we also speak, not in words taught in human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1Co 2:15 But he that is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no man.
1Co 2:16 For "Who has known the mind of the LORD, that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

The Apostle Paul did not tell us to sing worldly songs to the Lord but only spiritual songs and melodies.
This is what he said, "Eph_5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; "

"PSALMS", "HYMNS", "SPIRITUAL SONGS" and "SINGING AND MELODY". He did not say screams but SINGING. He did not say guitar riffs but MELODIES. He did not say worldly songs (for they are worldly and are conformed to this world (Rom 12:2) ) but SPIRITUAL SONGS. He did not just say to sing HYMNS but PSALMS as well, because the Spiritual Song itself must be composed by the Holy Spirit and with its inspiration.

I listen to Hymns of the Orthodox Church of Christ. Its not worldly music. Only the music of the Orthodox Church of Christ can truly be called "Christian" music.

Listen to this for example, does this make you want to slit your wrists like screamo does? (This is a chant that was composed in the 19th century by a Russian)

You assume it makes me feel worldly..no. It don't. Then country church hymns are worldly too. A joyful noise is praise.. Any kind of praise to God is joyful to him. Now, go.. You pharisee

Most people I know of who slit their wrists do so because of emotional/mental issues, not because of music. What makes you the judge on what is singing and what is not? You may not like it, but that doesn't mean it is any less of music.

Im sorry you guys, this is just my opinion, don't take my word for it, im not a priest.

Being used to listening to regular Christian music (angelic hymns and chants), when I hear about "Christian Screamo", I tend to disbelieve that any such thing could be found on earth.

"Christian Screamo"?
Okay, whatever floats your boat.

If you'd take the time and read the lyrics, and learn who the band really is and what they stand for...like the band "For Today" or "In the Midst of Lions" and as for yhe chants.. Pagans have ritualistic chants too.. It's the purpose of the song, not the sound.

Does it really matter how our worship sounds... as long as it's worship and our hearts are in its right place? if you think about it, it's almost judgemental if you hear something and stereotype that it must be bad. This can be the same as seeing somebody all dressed in black and they may have such a great relationship with our Lord! Look into things a little harder everyone :)
