Election is a funny thing to consider. Some may not believe Adolf Hitler is in heaven because he committed such heinous sin, but the same people believe Solomon and David will be. No matter how many wrong decisions a believer may make as they walk away from the Lord one thing is certain: Nothing can snatch a child of God out of the Father's hand... EVEN a decision to pursue homosexuality. Is it possible that person will die never having gotten right again with the Lord? Yes. Does their pursuit of such sin reverse God's decision to consider them sanctified? Absolutely not, for all sin is equal in God's eyes. To say that a person cannot possibly be a homosexual Christian is as wrong as saying you can't be an obese Christian.

Few people, per capita, engage in homosexual acts. About 3.5% do based on polling and studies and that's the aggregate or total of the entire LGBT population including people who engage in a bisexual lifestyle.
Can a "practicing homosexual" be saved? Yes and no.
Yes, because any sinner has the potential of becoming saved. On the other hand, if the person is professing to be a Christian yet is unrepentantly practicing homosexuality, then it would appear that are deceiving themselves (or deceived by the devil) and not saved.
1 John 2:4 says, "The one who says, 'I have come to know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."
So, a homosexual can be saved, but once saved the Spirit of God will move that person to repent of the sin of homosexuality. If a person continues to practice homosexuality unrepentantly, promotes it, distorting God's Word to justify it, etc... then that person is not demonstrating evidence of regeneration.
But then again, a person can become saved and despite their best efforts still struggle with sin, be convicted by the Spirit of sinning when they do it, and continue to seek ultimate victory over it.
So technically, in this last sense, they can be saved and struggle against a sin addiction which sometimes gets the best of them. We see this with some drug addicts who become Christians and don't find immediate full sobriety from drug addiction despite a great many finding immediate deliverance from drug addiction.
They often join self-help 12 step groups and Christian recovery programs until, whether quickly or slowly, the find long lasting sobriety which leads to life long victory over their addiction.
Same for porn addiction, or over eating, or whatever one's struggle with sin is. We all struggle with something even if it's gossip or anger or what have you.
But they are engaging in something they know is wrong, aren't seeking to justify it, are asking forgiveness of God when they do it, and recognizing they have a new nature that wants complete freedom from it (though they have not found that yet).
They don't say I'm a homosexual Christian and proud of it and God's Word says it's OK like some here of late have been doing. *rolls eyes*. But RATHER they say I'm a Christian and I know it's wrong but I believe and seek victory, whether quickly or slowly, over with what I am struggling in my life presently.
I always think of the evangelist Lonnie Frisbee on this issue. A person who has professed Christ and is struggling against sin is demonstrating evidence of regeneration. A person who professes Christ and distorts God's Word to engage in a life of sin unrepentantly certainly is not.
To the former I say God knows what you do and He loves you anyways. To the latter I say: you need to come out of your deception.
