wine with food is okay, but it's not okay to drink to be drunk, cause when we are drunk we often do stupid things and we are more likely to sin. Some people are trying to make it sound okay but it is never okay. We aren't drinking to be drunk alone in our bedrooms, we are drinking in parties with people that often don't have a good influence on us and as a christian we shouldn't be apart of that.
Being drunk is a sin in itself. It doesn't just lead to other sins (even though it clearly does that lol)

There is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol itself. I'm sure that many angels and Jesus himself drank alcohol in the form of wine. However as Paul says getting drunk is very foolish this is because it causes you to lose control of your body and that can lead to many dangerous things. Consider this passage

Ephesians 5:15-21
Therefore be very careful how you live - not as unwise but as wise, 16 taking advantage of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise by understanding what the Lordʼs will is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music in your hearts to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for each other in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 and submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

So having said that there is nothing wrong with going out for a drink with your friends. However, where I live anyway, going out for a drink means going out to get drunk and that is foolish. So as many alcohol adds say drink responsibly, be wise don't be a fool.
