That is not true at all. A person who studies the Scriptures can understand many things they have never experienced. That is one of the blessed things about the book of Proverbs.

12 To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13 And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. 15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. 16 How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

true, but u need it to be wise
To sum up my argument: Experience is not always the best way to learn things. That's a truth I hope will follow you. A person does not need to partake in somethings to see what is good or bad. A good relationship with the Word of God will give a person quite a bit of knowledge but saves them from many heartaches they would have gotten from attempting to learn the same lessons by experience. The Bible is clear on many of these issues. I would challenge you to search the Scriptures on these things.

You can't only support PART of a show. Either you watch it or you don't and if you watch it, you're essentially endorsing the whole thing.

There are some redeeming qualities to Boondocks, but you have to judge for yourself if you're willing to endorse the ENTIRE program. Does it have artistic or social value? Sure. Is it super hilarious? Absolutely. Does it glorify God? Not really.

I've tried to start using this as a standard- Would I quote this show to my Sunday school class without censoring it?

when i mean experience i dont mean trying something...i know about weed because of a few friends i had, never smoked it though...still point i you cant really understand it, cuz you've never experienced it, thats why ex gang member s would to talk to gangs about christ, why ex prostitutes would talk to prostitutes about christ, why drug addicts would talk about christ to other drug addicts and the same reason is why Brian Head Welch, ex Korn Guitarists talks to the youth and metalheads about Christ...if you werent a drug addict before, drugs addict wouldnt listen to you. Im a Metalhead and i i didn't really agree with you in the other thread. Why? cuz you werent a metalhead before and dont understand what it means to be one

Yeah but that's not always true. The Gospel of Jesus Christ transcends everything. My church has white missionaries who go into Africa into AIDS plagued villages and they have no problem ministering to them, even though they're not Africans nor do they have AIDS nor have they ever suffered like these people do. If you reject what other people say because they aren't like you, or have different backgrounds, you will really do yourself much harm; especially people who are older and more mature in life and in their faith. I'm gonna leave my words in this thread at that. Have a blessed evening and Lord's Day tomorrow.

Well I said I would leave this alone, but I want to respond to this. Yes I have talked to gang members about Christ, last week actually at a popular park here in the bad side of town where black guys go and play basketball. We've actually won quite a number of them to Christ over the past few years with our outreach. And how do we have such a successful ministry? Love. Love transcends backgrounds and cultures. People will listen to someone who expresses a genuine care and love for them whether they're of the same race, social status, or background. You have totally missed that. I'm in no way hiding behind any stone walls, I spend a large majority of my time and energy and money reaching out to people who are neglected by society with the gospel. You seem to approach life with a very arrogant attitude, especially when you accuse other people of things without knowing anything about them or what they do.

Honestly no, we really didn't need to hear them because we already know what is going on in their world. In this area where we go the poverty is almost overwhelming so we can see they have some real needs so we try to meet them in the ways we can. So we just go up to them, ask them how they are, what their name, is, do they have a church, do they know they're saved, and we tell them that God loves them and sent His Son to die for their sins. A lot of times we invite them to come to church with us or to an activity or a fellowship dinner, offer them a ride if they need one, and just talk to them about God. That's what I meant earlier when I said the gospel transcends. It was the same way in the early church, poor and rich and slaves and masters all went to the same church and all had the same status in Christ.
