i was just watching boondocks (the wierd episode about the booty warrior). for those who dont know what boondocks, is one of the most controversial cartoons our there. the episode was about rape in jail the dialogues were just hilarious, dont drop the soap lol) anyways, i question came up while watching such a stupid show (the irony is that in every episode there's something educational and learn about social issues), if a man, got raped in jail, would it still be considered a sin??

PS: if you get offended easily by racial slurs (a lot of black comedy and racist jokes), certain social topics and bad words, do not watch this show...but if want to learn about how society is and the issues in it, watch it, it will make laugh and you ll learn many things

Most of these types of shows are the issues in society. And it is not about how society works but how sin works, and these shows are the very obvious example of the evil in people, even to find this type of mess funny. My friend this is only a mockery. They are not concerned about sin, they are consumed with hell. If they cared about sin they wouldn't so brazenly and actively indulge in it.

It is only a mockery and education in sin and unrighteousness.

May Jesus bless you.

I've seen that episode before.

Since rape is sexual immortality, and sexual immortality is a sin, then the rapist is the one who is sinning (the person being raped is not sinning)

Amen. Very good, you are right to ask how can they know they are sinning if no one has showed them. Amen!! And of course it is easy to relate to some of those things seeing as they depict a form of life, especially if you have lived that form of life.

But Christians come from many forms of life into a new form of Life in Jesus Christ, and Jesus exposes the reality of the old form, that it is of Satan and will lead to death and confusion and condemnation.

But we are to come out from the world, because the things of the world are perishing.

May Jesus bless you my friend.

yeah i know what you mean, but like i stated in my above statement, this show can be educational, specially when it comes to social issues...an example would be an episode of which the theme was, what would happen if Martin Luther king saw how many African Americans behave today?? and i totally agree with the conclusion of the cartoon or the one that deal with how people and corporations that hold the US economy together, behind close doors have some sort of inmunity to their actions even that action is illegal. in fact i was wondering if you would like to have discussion on a chapter i found in corinthians

I Corinthians 8

Concerning Food Sacrificed to Idols

1 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that "We all possess knowledge." But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know. 3 But whoever loves God is known by God.[a]
4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that "An idol is nothing at all in the world" and that "There is no God but one." 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

7 But not everyone possesses this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. 8 But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.

9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol's temple, won't that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols? 11 So this weak brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. 12 When you sin against them in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause them to fall.

I've giving alot of thought into this chapter, and i use this chapter in may response to some of the music i listen to or shows that i watch (barely watch TV anyways)

i want to hear what you have to say on this subject

MAY JESUS BLESS YOU!! I have been at this point my friend. And I am thankful that the Lord Jesus actually let me understand this, as this can only be understood after you understand salvation. If you have not repented of sin and put your trust fully in Jesus even though I tell you what this is talking about, it will be hard to put into action. But I will try to explain it however. I will put the explanation in another post. one sec.

Many Jews who were being converted in those days knew the law very well, but not many of them understood the law. This is why they killed Jesus.

It was written in the law that certain foods were unclean to eat. It was written also that Israel should not touch unclean things. But tell me something, do you think I am going to hell for eating a hamburger? HAHA! You see how ridiculous it can get.

But what if I saw someone offer their hamburger to the goddess of the air? Don't you think a Christian would have a very heard time with this? For pure conscience sake they would not eat it, and i would advise that. The reason I say this is because to the pure, all things are pure, but not all things are expedient. I will give you another case.

Two Christians walk into a bar (not a joke. Lol.) i will change the setting:

Two Christians are sitting at a table. One Christian is weak in faith and thinks that eating hamburgers is of the devil, because he read not to eat pork. But another Christian knows that eating hamburgers won't send you to hell, because he understands that the only thing that can lead you to hell is the condition of your heart, which is evident in what you do. Also he knows that the person who thinks eating hamburgers is of the devil is not condemned for thinking such a thing (he will not go to hell for thinking this with a pure heart).

HOWEVER! If the man who has more faith eats pork in front of the Christian with weaker faith he is going to offend him. And if he does it deliberately to tempt him, he is working out of sin. So for pure edification sake, the man of stronger faith should not eat pork in front of the Christian with weaker faith, as to not offend him.

It is all about love and edification. This is a particular case for one of the Churches I believe, but it was written to show people how to edify each other when they are at different levels of faith. The man of weaker faith is not a sinner, and the man of stronger faith is not a sinner, but anyone who does not love their neighbor in their faith is not working in love.

I hope this helps.

You do realize that even though they are called HAMburgers...its actually ground beef right? And beef comes from cows. Pork is from pigs.

I'd wonder why a Christian would want to watch a show like that..

1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
Eph 5:1-13 (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:15-17 (KJV)

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Bible is the authority in the Christian life, not ones opinions. Not partaking in what the show promotes doesn't make it acceptable. A show like that violates many commands of Scripture and it is probably a good idea to abstain.

21 Prove [test] all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all [any] appearance [form] of evil.
1 Thess 5:21-22 (KJV)
