Adrian, I want to tell you that though your intentions are good, the way you phrase what you say is detrimental to the message you're giving. It was written "be sly as serpents, and gentle as doves". The knowledge you have of God's word is great. I wish I knew as much as you. But aren't we supposed to temper all things with love? There is a way to say what you want to say, without it coming out as sharp as a razor, and perhaps that is something you could try to take note of as you type. People often say "I'm being honest. I don't sugar-coat anything." I'm not saying to "sugar-coat" it, what I'm saying is that "a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." I pray I didn't come off as arrogant, because that wasn't my intention. I have struggled with the same problem myself and so I've taken to doing my best to preach by my behavior and I still fail, as do we all. God bless you all.
Yes I understand. And to a certain extent you are completely correct. But I am just pointing out the obvious consequence of her decision which is one to be alarmed of, because if Christ were to come let's say the next second or so, she wouldn't be caught up with us, and that would be a tragedy unto anyone. I'm not trying to scare anyone, I'm not trying to offend anyone. Truth sometimes hurts.

man...i know ive just joined this site, but i was really kind of hoping for more civil discussion...there seems to be a lot of sniping at one another, no different than most other forums (except, i suppose, without the rampant profanity)...what i have gathered is there is a former member who, whether for attention or because she genuinely feels this way, has gone from someone self-identified as Christian Chick to someone wishing to live a life with herself as the only entity to which she must answer...this is the exact opposite path God wants for us, and i grieve for her decision...but even after she is banned, the name-calling persists? i know i should not be surprised because human nature can easily dictate our behavior and i have been just as guilty of acting in a way contrary to Biblical teachings as much if not more than anyone here...but criticizing spelling when a young woman's eternal soul is in question? seems inconsequential at best...

by the way, if anyone is frustrated by misspellings, it is me...and English major who makes his living as a writer, improper language usage is an enormous pet peeve of mine...but in a Christian internet forum? i dunno...please dont take this as undue criticism from a newbie, and if this were the only thread i saw such behavior, i would not have mentioned it, but i joined because i was looking for positive fellowship...i know there are countless posts affirming Christ's love and im sure i'll find even more as i continue to read and become more active here...thanks to any and all who read this and i sincerely hope i didnt step on any toes unjustly...

by the way, it is "butt in," according to roget's thesaurus and the american heritage dictionary of idioms...

That's an awful lot of ellipses for an English major/writer.

Anyway, I am curious why a super old (very childish) thread is one of your first posts here.

That said- welcome! lol

thanks, rainacorn, for pointing out my frequent use of ellipsis...very true, i do use them because, when writing in a relaxed, unprofessional setting, i feel comfortable without constructing complete, proper sentences...i settle, instead, on stating my intended opinion in a more conversational tone and the ellipsis between thoughts, in my opinion, allows me to do so...

excellent question regarding my post in a "super old (very childish) thread"

the simple answer was that i had seen thread after thread with argumentative comments where i had sincerely hoped to see the vast majority of posts including encouraging, uplifting comments and advice...maybe, in this case, i was naive...but if i had a teenager, i dont think i'd like him to see some of this bickering and associate it with the Christian life...i know i might be out of line even bringing it up, but since everyone else seems comfortable expressing opinions openly, i chose to do the same...

i had similar thoughts through many of the earlier pages i skimmed through, this one just struck me as something i wanted to comment on...

that said - thanks for reading and replying!

(btw, ive read a lot of your posts, and i think you're quite funny, quite often...so thanks for that, also...)
