I wasn't referring to being embarrassed. More like ashamed, there is a huge difference.
I see what you mean. Howver, on its own it's still a poor argument, since our consciences are not infallible. It's possible to feel guilt over something innocent, and it is also possible to feel no guilt where one is actually guilty. For exampe, for most of my teenage and young adult life, I felt absolutely no shame whatsoever over masturbation; I had been brought up to believe it's normal and good and healthy. Nowadays things are different, but I had to retrain my conscience.

Thanks, I was struggling how to word that argument. But yeah, pretty much what Maddog said, you can't really rely on your own understanding to decide what is and isn't right. Bet Hitler didn't feel ashamed about anything he did... until it was too late anyways.

Of course you wouldnt feel shame or guilt if you didn't know any better or were brought up to think its healthy and normal. I had struggles with this in the past and have overcome with the help of God. I just know what worked for me and was merely making a suggestion, NOT AN ARGUMENT

I understand you were making a suggestion but as it's been pointed out, relying on your own intuition is not always a good idea which you've inadvertently pointed out because it runs the risk of you either being raised with false truths or you simply don't know any better.

Isn't masterbation a form of self-worship though? I don't know if it's wrong or not, but if it is, I imagine this would be the reason.

Mind dumbing your verbiage down a bit for me? I find neither porn nor masturbation MORALLY wrong. But I also don't find them on the same level of ok.

Right. Subjective morality, is basically "man-made". It is an "in the eye of the beholder" take on morality. For you murder may be wrong, for me it may be okay in some instances, and for our shared neighbor, it's a fun extra-curricular activity that should be partaken in with a group of friends. Yet, according to this none of the three is wrong, as it is a rejection of Objective morality.

Objective morality, is basically that there is such a thing as morally right or wrong. This would be rooted in what is philsophically referred to as a Moral Law. This Moral law would have a source, and would make morally right actions right, and morally wrong actions wrong, even if no one agrees.

Moral Nihilism, is basically a conclusion based on Subjective Morality. That, because two people disagree on a moral issue, neither are ultimately right(or wrong) and that the universe is amoral. Amoral being, there is no right or wrong.

So, to apply this to the conversation, which is why I raised the point.

To say that something isn't morally wrong subjectively (in the eye of the beholder) is not a basis for morality (see the above). As it's ultimately logical following conclusion is Moral Nihilism (moral free-for-all). Yet, Objective Morality, would be all-applying.

Well the question isn't really about the fact whether it is moral or not, only asking what we were taught. I was never "taught" either way per-say, so all I have is the opinion I have formed myself, which I offered to the author. Clearly it is going to be subjective, so I'm not sure how pointing that out applies to the original question.

The connotation of the original post was of morality. While both the denotation and connation of the following posts were of morality.

Quit using hard vocabulary, lol you lose most your readers when no one knows what your talking about Jimmy. Just a tip.

I have used masturbation without bad thoughts ect ect and i came up with this conclusion.
Is it a sin? Not to me, its not listed. If there would be one thing God would know about it would be masturbation. I believe this is personal preference but I will say this.
It gives me relief of sexual tension which men do builds quite fast and regularly. But it is very addicting and then becomes very time consuming. It becomes more of a act of entertainment after awhile. I'm not going to say its a sin. But I will say that it is not easy to moderate. If at any point you become addicted and such and find yourself doing this a lot then that's a red flag. It would be used as a relief mechanic because it will induce loneliness. Guys feel intimacy with sexual actions while woman feel intimacy by cuddling and things like that. Which is very different because a guy can be obtaining a false intimacy from a self made orgasm which will induce them to being and feeling lonely after masturbation hence the feeling of loneliness and guilt.
Is it a sin? I wouldn't say so. Is it dangerous if used incorrectly? Yes. twice a week would be a moderation. everyday will cause addiction. been there done that. My take from studying this subject.
I now am trying to stay away.

I think generally people have to chill out about masturbation. I try not do m. I do that coz it is a way of being in control. But if you do it, people shouldnt get too stressed about it.

Hmm, but Jesus said that if we looked at a woman with lust in our hearts then it is exactly the same as committing adultery. The act itself is unnecessary it is what is in our hearts. When you masturbate while thinking of someone then you are still committing adultery.
On the other hand if you are thinking of your spouse while doing this (if you happen to be married) then I suppose that would be ok right?

A woman's clitoris was made for only one thing - pleasure. It has no other need. Now why would God make such a thing and expect you not to use it? Sounds silly but i'm serious.

That sounds good but also has problems, some men whose wives don't satisfy them sexually turn to masturbation instead of their wives to satisfy their needs. I'd say even what you suggest is wrong for that very purpose. Sex should be mutual not selfish.

As for the girl who posted above, some organs are made for pleasure... MARRIED pleasure.

God gave us hands, but he didn't give them to us to strangle people with. He gave us a tongue but he did not give it to us to curse each other. God gave us many things, but humans, inspired by Satan use these things to defile themselves. They dishonor God in their bodies and say to themselves, ''God gave it to me.''

Indeed, God gave us a free will, but what people do with it will condemn them. The purpose was marriage sanctifies the act. This is the purpose. But rebellion is contrary to purpose, and it is also as the spirit of witchcraft. It was written that we should not tempt the Lord our God.

May Jesus bless you.
