Amen. To me I view it as a sin because.. well..

Yes I have been masturbating a while ago, but thank God for he has set me free from that!

My experience with it was that it always got me tired, made my energy plummet, and apart from that it made me want to do it again and again because of how it stimulates dopamine release in your brain, similar to getting a high off certain types of drugs, I am here to tell you that it isn't comftorable, and I, myself was able to overcome this only with the help of God.

I am very certain it modulates my sexual desire because it made me feel like wanting to do it again and again.

But I have to tell you I would much rather prefer wet dreams than get that horrible feeling after masturbation and masturbation is pleasing yourself, I am sure that is fulfilling the lusts of the flesh and perverting gods gift of having sex with the opposite of your sex in marriage, I am guilty of doing such that is why I am not going to condemn anybody here for masturbating, with God Anything is possible!
Yes, amen!

We can never be free from the chains and slavery of sin until we repent all for the glory of God.

Grace and Love

But this is so wrong. It makes me troubled. It makes me sad. And I can't understand why people seem to just pick up scriptures they like and close their eyes to those that imply you doing something that might not be comfortable for your flesh.
Total Depravity, coupled with unregeneration is what I have observed to often be the problem.

Also, humans have a serious problem with making God out to be in our own image. This is nothing new in the world, refer to the Golden Calf.

I share your sorrow though.

I just ask that you wash your hands. For other people, of course.

Maturbastion is wrong bottom line. You would not be masturbasting if you heard Jesus was coming back.Masturbastion is the lust of the flesh.Masturbation and porn goes together. You cannot get off if you are not thinking of a sexual image. It is impossible to masturbate while thinking of Jesus and what He did for you.God made marriage one man and one woman not one man masturbasting in a room without his wife.It is just selfish and fulfills the lust of your flesh.Paul even said if you can't resist it then get married so that you don't sin.Masturbastion is wrong under any circumstance.

If it's incorporated as part of foreplay and does not detract from the 'final goal' then it's fine. But if you're using it to replace the 'final goal' then it would be deficient since you'd be subverting the procreative act. That, plus your wife's knees would start to hurt.
Stop it, you're killin me lol

Man... there's a lot of trashy posts in this thread! This is what I have learned:
Masturbation is taught to be healthy, natural, normal by the standards of the world. We are taught that if we don't masturbate then we'll have a low sex drive later in life or that we'll be constantly on edge with ourselves and others and lash out inexplicably. While there may be some truth to these studies I believe that the problem is not primarily biological but psychological, as well as spiritual.

Think about this: If the world tells you that it's totally cool to masturbate will you say, "oh, okay! Away I go!" meanwhile the Bible discourages all kinds of "desires of the flesh" and "sexual immorality" will you still believe what the world says? More than half of you will believe what the world teaches you about sex because you are comfortable masturbating. You don't really want to stop and you don't see it as a problem. You don't even want to fathom masturbation as being a problem. Forget about it being considered a sin! If it's a sin then why doesn't the Bible just come out and say "thou shalt not masturbate!"

I think Perry Nobel, a recovering porn addict, put it best when he addressed this issue. "Those of you who are hung up on masturbation think you're okay because you're not doing it with another person, therefore HOW can it be considered a sexual sin? Well guess what? You're having sex with yourself!"

As others mentioned, what is the means by which you are achieving this ultimate high? Are you watching porn? Reading a dirty magazine or novel? Are you picturing a scenario in your head with you and another person? Maybe with two made up figures in a completely make believe scenario? Are you remembering something somebody said in passing or maybe a brief scene from a movie or TV show you watched? Some may say "uhhh nothing!" - Those people are liars. Sorry for being blunt, but you can't achieve orgasm by watching Meet the Browns on a Saturday night... and if you are then that is just sad and you need to get out more.

The unpopular, uncomfortable answer is, I believe, that masturbation is a sexual sin. Period. Our bodies were not designed to be played with for our own selfish desires. Our bodies belong to Christ and they don't really belong to us.

People will try to fluff the answer because they themselves don't want to face the painful truth. Sad to say that even churches teach that it's okay to masturbate... and if your church is teaching you that then you need to seriously consider what is being fed to you by so-called respected individuals. Do not be fooled. If you are struggling with this issue you need to bring this to God and have a good honest talk with him. He will give you sage advice and incredible wisdom on the subject.

Don't view yourself as a bad person by reading what I wrote! You are not evil! All of us are temped by the attractive ways of the world and Satan, who controls everything that isn't from God. You have a choice here. Like Jesus said to the adulterous woman: "Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin." (John 8:11)

Well, after reading all of the previous posts, I have come to the conclusion that masturbation is probably wrong, due to the thoughts that lead to the act. Fortunately for all of you masturbaters out there, you don't have to worry about getting yourself pregnant, or giving yourself an std.

.You cannot get off if you are not thinking of a sexual image. It is impossible to masturbate while thinking of Jesus and what He did for you.
i'm not trying to defend or oppose masturbation in this comment. but for the mere sake of argument... can you have good sex with your spouse within the God-given contruct of marriage while thinking about Jesus on the cross and what He did for you? there is a time to mourn over that. obviously. but isn't there also a time to not think about bloody death?

surely i have a point, here.
i wouldn't have even commented except i saw this thread got resurrected...like Yeshua himself. lol.

I believe masturbation is natural and not wrong. Porn on the other hand I've done enough research to see that it does not in fact lead to a warped mind, like many Christians claim, however that doesn't change it's content from being what it is, which would still make it wrong from a Christian standard.
While it is highly unlikely, it's not impossible.
Well good thing I know none of you.

For those of you who are talking about lusts and such.

Some people do it because they get lustful thoughts the longer they wait and such and then there comes the lustful dreams that they try to avoid.

So if someone can work to do it without lust and therefore prevent lust twofold then yeah?

(By the lustful dreams I mean wet dreams, and by the thoughts I mean the longer the testosterone and such builds up the more vulnerable people are to lustful thoughts)

We have no right to tell someone they cant do it without lusting. :p

Maybe some do it to avoid the other two involuntary lusts.

(and by lustful thoughts I dont nessecarily mean dwelling on it but it could be. Just the lustful stuff that POPS into your mind not the stuff that you can really control)

Matthew 5:27-28 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Some people do it because they get lustful thoughts the longer they wait and such and then there comes the lustful dreams that they try to avoid.
So if someone can work to do it without lust and therefore prevent lust twofold then yeah?

This must be the biggest crock of bull I have ever heard in my life. What started the lust? A girl. So what are you going to think about when you do it? The one that set you off. I was born during the day, but it wasn't yesterday.

While it is highly unlikely, it's not impossible

Yeah, right. It's not impossible, just 99. 9999% highly unlikely. Even people who are in love with themselves can't do that.

And as far as dreams is concerned:
Ecclesiastes 5:3 Nas 3 For the dream comes through much effort and the voice of a fool through many words.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 Nlt 3 Too much activity gives you restless dreams; too many words make you a fool.

That "much effort" is what you're thinking about and doing. This sin only multiplies sinful dreams.
As far as the porn issue is concerned, thinking about such things is creating porn on the screen of your mind. It is pornographic.
If you're already doing it, you're already out of control.

If you want to do it bad enough, just go ahead and do it. Your sin is your business. There's no need to come into the forums to try to justify yourselves and lead others astray. If you want to do right, repent of your sins, and bring forth fruits to prove it.
