I think some jobs are easier for women and then some jobs are easier for men naturally, but i don't think it matters. Do what you want.

I worked on a farm..slinging buckets of cucumbers on a tractor..sorting cabbages to be packed and loaded on a semi ..backbreaking work ..I almost killed myself out there trying to keep up with the guys until I realized that I could never keep up with them physically.. Now mentally.. That's another story...but back then I thought I was just as strong as the male farm hands until the day a fifteen year old boy easily lifted a bucket that had me straining and panting like nobody's business.. Which taught me a lifelong lesson.. I've seen guys disrespect lady cops inspite of her gun and taser..thanks for your response GraceRevelation. Another thing..I do believe that Eve helped Adam tend the garden of Eden..but after the punishment and the ground was cursed I believe things got harder for everybody. That was some dry and probably rocky soil...things sure are different outside the garden. That scripture just popped into my head..may be off subject too...hmmm???

Hi.

Should men and woman have the same jobs , look out side your own country get away from that western thinking and lets look at Thailand at the time 20 07 I was there and at the Hospital Phuket its not some backwards small time small minded thinking people and its world renowned ,

some 50 men and women were doing the same work in building the Hospital , I,v had our daughter work for myself and doing the same and she can work ,

Some of us are very good at what we do and strength wise in some case,s I,v had men I told them to get off the building site and they should never have been there they were not suited to our type of work , and many men cant do what we can its just a fact of life we don't all do the same thing , and on some sites I can get hurt just the same as the guys,

Wether male or female if your not suited for the job in hand then step back and say I cant do that ....theres no shame in that that's just facing head on your not suited for that ...like I said in my other post as a Fire dept personal I would not do it now as I had done before ,

...noeleena...

Traditionally being a nurse and working kindergarten were purely female oppcupatios

Now the employers WANT males. Why? Because they interact well with the patients and the kids, and because they are (as of yet) rare, they become more popular.

PS: I've been in a car that was stopped by female police officers (because they suspected drugs were dealt at the school we just left), I assure you, there was nothing weak or tender about them :p

I think we should do full reversal -- all women work and hold all jobs and I stay on the beach? What do you ladies think? :p

Well as a single woman I have a job in the civil service holding down a very complicated
responsible job. My job means I have to speak to the police, various enforcement agencies,
councils, solicitors, MPs, planning departments, courts, insolvency services, port authorities
and many more besides.

I am also a carer for my elderly aunt, I take care of all her medical needs,
speak to all the medical staff, arrange appointments.

Sort out her finances and make all her appointments for her, do all the washing, cleaning,
cooking, shopping. When she was in hospital and nearly died, I visited nearly every day
and spoke to countless doctors, nurses, physios etc. I was the one who pushed and pushed
for her to get the care she needed when it seemed like others did not know what to do.

Today I spent 4 hours gardening cutting the grass, strimming, weeding, bought some plants and
put them in. Cleaned and tided everything up, then came inside to make tea. That was after
doing the washing changing the beds, do some ironing.

So quite honestly I'm not really bothered whether you sun yourself on the beech or not and I
find your remarks quite insulting.

My aunt has 4 grown up sons who are older than me and do absolutely nothing.
They did not even have the stomach to turn up regulary when she was in hospital and
deal with all the decisions which had to be made because they were too upset to deal with
it all. I was the one who had to have that "do not resuscitate" discussion with the consultant.
One of her sons was so upset that he became quite ill and ended up on tranquillisers.
Another of her sons would only visit the hospital when he knew I was there as he did not
know what to say to her when she was hallucinating and in a state of delerium.

When she came home and continued to have an upset stomach I was the one who had to
clean everything up. I'm still the one who checks on her during the night to make sure she
is ok and encourages her to use her oxygen machine as much as possible.

So yeah, I would be more than happy for you to go and sun yourself on the beach, it
would make no difference to me either way.

That all depends. If you submit to looking good all the time to plz women,we may allow you to sun yourself. You must also submit to cat calls and disrespectful men-izing. But before you go to the beach, you had better have the floors spit shined and the domestic chores done. :p

ps sorry if this sounded a bit full on, I just get a bit fed up of all the threads and posts
within threads which seem to want to treat women as second class citizens.
(I've no problem with the OP by the way, I know that was not the intention).

Dont let's continue where Islam left off, surely as Christians we can treat our women
better than they do.

Why? Let's all work part time. I had a lovely time at the beach today with the kids and yesterday they went with dad to the beach.

There are just some jobs that women should not do. Im not saying that to be sexist but God made women do fulfill certain roles and it certainly dosnt mean they are less than either! How can a mother be at home with her babies when she is on the front line of combat?
You seem to be the assuming that all Women want to be Mothers. Any intelligent person would weigh up whether joining
the armed forces or whatever is what they want to do. I might be wrong but I don't think there is a compulsion in most Countries for Women to join the armed forces as a part of national service, and in any case it is usually for a fixed period of time so if a Woman wants to start a family she can still do both.

Thanks for the input. The reason why I asked is because the guys I know have admitted that they don't feel physically threatened by a lady cop or soldier. I know that in scripture both genders have held some of the same jobs like being a shepherd or shepherdess or prophet. Once again thanks for the input.
not job related, but i went to a swordfighting tournament last weekend and watched one particular woman soundly whomp several men who were far bigger and physically stronger than her.
martial arts, weapons and skillful use of them are great equalizers.

i would have felt very threatened to step into the ring with her :)
i would have loved it - if i wasn't dealing with injuries to my spine right now - but i would be a fool to underestimate her.

we all come in different shapes and sizes and inherent levels of intelligence, but can overcome alot of size/strength/speed and even 'smarts' mismatches with training.
it should be obvious that some people - whatever gender - are not cut out for certain roles. i can't make any blanket statement about jobs. heck, there are women out there who could easily compete in the NFL. but we're still all individuals with individual talents and skillsets that God gave us.

It is a well established fact that the near majority of men under 40 (a generation called "millennials") now live with their mothers because they cannot afford to pay rent and are financially dependent. By contrast, the majority of women in this generation are home owners and are financially independent. Whether anyone believes that women should or should not hold the same jobs as men, the fact remains that the majority of jobs in the USA are held by women. It naturally follows that the burden of caring for those who financially dependent falls on them as well.

The following data seems to disagree with the bit of your post in bold, except for the traditional
women's jobs and people oriented jobs, ie human resources, tailoring, event managers, library
workers, social worker, teaching assistants etc.

Employed persons by detailed occupation, sex, race, and Hispanic or Latino ethnicity

The government also tells us that having a college degree will bring you great prosperity - I have two college degrees both of which cost me a fortune to obtain and which remain utterly worthless. So please don't rely on what the government stats tells you because if they were true, these men would not be living with their moms.

This is also true for Norway (and probably Europe in general).
Unless you KNOW you will get a job, stick with an education that is short and gives you a hands- on experience.
