The bible says no one knows when the final day is, not even Jesus knew :) There will be signs, but they won't tell us exactly when

Matthew 24

30“At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that itd is near, right at the door. 34I tell you the truth, this generatione will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

36“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

42“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

I wouldnt fret about when the world will end, but would make sure your calling is sure, and you have a saving faith in Jesus Christ!

Shine as lights in the world!

Php 2:15 so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among these you shine as lights in the world,
Php 2:16
holding forth the Word of Life, so that I may rejoice with you in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain nor labored in vain.

The word says those who are OF Christ are called to a higher calling than those who reject Him, or scoff at the truth! We are called to be blameless and harmless, without rebuke, sons of the living God, mixed in with a crooked and perverse world all around us.

To shine as light in this dark world, takes a lot of courage and strength, and a strong desire and commitment to walk blameless in this present world, set apart to be used by our master, Jesus Christ.

Not being a part of the large and popular church system or organization can leave one very isolated and separated from the life they use to love and enjoy, especially all the friends, family, and church people who made us feel welcomed and special, as we joined them in their worldly pastimes and fun and games.

But now, things have changed, for those few who have come to the truth, which can only come through real repentance and faith, leading to a real saving conversion! There are many scriptures that will show how this works, but for now, it’s either or!

Either you have crucified your flesh with all its passions and desires as Galatians 5-24 states, or you have not, and are still double minded, and will not come to the knowledge of the truth, until you do your first works, rev 2-5.

This conversion comes with many changes that must occur as God leads you into more truth and wisdom, and you must yield to His calling, and be prepared to come out from the world, and be separate, love not the word, which doesn't mean you leave this world, but you must be careful how you interact with the world and the things of it!

The word is clear, its calls the true convert to deny self, abstain from all appearances of evil, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, expose all evil, love not the world, come out from among her, set your mind and heart on things above, keep yourself unspotted from this world, as its passing away and all the vain attractions with it, set no evil thing before your eyes, do not mix the holy with the profane, guard your heart, do not share in the sins of others, and many more admonishments laid out clearly in scripture.

Many will say we have liberty in Christ, and I agree, but this liberty isn't a license to join forces with the world, by putting into our minds and endorsing them as harmless attractions and past times.

God has given His children so much to enjoy, such as His beautiful creation, children, many healthy foods, and most of all His word, which is our joy, and nourishment for our souls to keep us strong against the wiles of the devil and temptation.

All that the world highly esteems and hold dear is passing away, and can only offer temptation to those who follow Christ on the narrow road, but a truly converted heart will manifest this true conversion in their life, by what they put into their minds, is it the word of God and His truth? Or the lies of the world, giving you and your friends and family a poor perception of what a real follower of Christ is!

We are to hold fourth the word of truth, not in vain, or in conceit, but in all humility, power, and passion, putting to death the deeds of the flesh the world highly esteems, by putting on the whole armor of God, being a light to the lost world and our families and friends, even though they may see us as strange and legalistic in standing against the pop culture, and false teaching they hold dear!

When we have opportunities to share the truth, which can be narrow at times, due to the love of the lie now prevalent throughout millions of churches and denominations worldwide, we can boldly stand for it, not just in word but in deed, so let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good deeds, and glorify your father in heaven!

Letting your light shine means you won’t be popular, you will be considered dull and boring to the lost church and world, it means you will stand alone in your convictions, especially when you preach against sin, and the love of the world, and most of all it means to come out from the world, in a radical way, so those who are searching, and open to truth will see a huge difference in what you do, think and say, plus wonder why you don't enjoy all their favorite sports teams, Hollywood movies, games, and worldly attractions that just pacify the flesh for a brief time, but do not satisfy the hunger and thirst within, searching for truth, that will set them free from the bondage's of sin and worldliness once and for all!

This freedom as mentioned comes with a high price! But Jesus made in clear when He said, to repent, go and sin no more, obey my commands, walk worthy of your calling, and seek first His kingdom and His righteousness! Where does your hunger lie? Is it for truth, righteousness, and heart purity? Or for the world and its many attractions, that will leave you high and dry, begging for more as the word and truth slowly gets snubbed out, because the fire is gone, taken captive by the world and the lusts of it!
Tommy 7-13-12

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and keep His commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.
1Jn 5:4 For everything that has been born of God
overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.

I concur with that statement.

2 Peter 1:10- Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

I doubt anyone can say they really know. I get the impression it's soon, as in this century soon, but I could be wrong by a lot.

No one can put a date on it, but I'll give you this: When you see Jerusalem surrounded and being evacuated, the final clock starts ticking.

don't be scared by the end of the world talk, people have been saying those things since Jesus first left.

Just like people are scared of death for some reason. IF you believe in God and heaven, then you know that there is life after death and God will protect His children through any trials this world may put them through.

Revelation 21:4
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

I remember when a bunch of people predicted that the world would end last year on May 21st, I believe. What I found absolutely hilarious is that they sold shirts that said "The world will end on May 21st, 2011". Very detailed for a T-shirt. I wonder if they still have it.....

We should certainly live everyday in preparation for joining our Father in Heaven, but that applies to whether the world ends or we just die normal deaths.

Nicole, it is nothing to be afraid of. Yes it's gong to be tough for us physically, but I rejoice in it's coming because that means we're just that much closer to Jesus returning to put a stop to all this insanity. No, do not be fearful! BE PREPARED. The only thing to fear is turning away from Him because you're not prepared.

Yes every generation since Paul's has thought theirs was the last. And like the lazy farmer, our lives could be demanded of any one of us today and kaboom we're there. But, my personal opinion, is it's the generation who thinks 'it wont be us' that it's going to happen to.

There is actually a debate as to whether the tribulation is happening now, or happened in the 1st century with the destruction of Jerusalem. The End of the Age, and the Final Judgement are two different things.

The End of the Age meant that Christians would be under oppression, and Jesus foretold signs to watch for. This is NOT the end of the world.

The final judgement is when Jesus will return to earth. Jesus also made it clear that no one knows the day or the hour when he will come. Only God knows.
For anyone to predict when the end will come is in error and should not be listened to.

Also, there really is no reason to fear the end. If you're a Christian then you be rewarded. Keep in mind that no matter what evil we endure in this lifetime GOODNESS will win.

The planet will not be destroyed but when God's wrath is poured out on the earth upon the rejecters of the Lord and His salvation (this unfolds in the descriptions of the book of Revelations) great catastrophes that the world and history has never seen will all be real but we come with the Lord of Saboath at the final battle with Jesus Lord of Lords King of Kings to establish His government upon this earth removing all other governments we will be His ambassadors for Him and with Him for 1000 years then the eternal ages with the Father coming He will be All and in All forever.
