First of all, just incase you don't know.. There are two kinds of surrogacy.
1) the surrogate mother is carrying a baby made of the baby's father's sperm and the baby's mother's egg.
2) the surrogate mother uses her own egg and the baby's father's sperm to produce a baby for the expecting parents.
I'm against #2 personally.. I feel like if the surrogate mother has essentially cheated on her husband with another man and creating a child for that other family. I know that no sexual acts have occurred but that surrogate mother will have a child out there that's half hers and no relation to her husband.. And that's just wrong to me.
With #1 however I don't see any moral issues like in #2.. But does the Bible say anything that you know of?
The only thing I can think of is like John the baptist's parents and how God never gave them a child until well into their years when He decided they were ready and it would be beneficial. So is having a baby for someone who can't carry one on their own essentially "playing God?" I guess invetro and test tube babies could all fall under this category and I've never really took the time to dig any deeper than surface info on those either? I'm not saying I find anything wrong with these ways of conceiving children.. I just want to know if you know any scripture that backs up or tears down the good that surrogacy brings to peoples' lives.
thanks in advance.
