Fair enough. So, since we've totally exhausted scripture on that part, WE MUST CONCLUDE that the "Jezebel spirit" is a misnomer. What we still have is a spiritual problem in the church with controlling people. That I believe to be a fact, but there isn't any proper spiritual name for it. It seems to be a problem Like Stilly said, using Rev 2 to set an incorrect standard. I hope it hasn't been done on purpose.

While the scripture use is wrong, most writings have agreement with the description of this spiritual problem. In other words, they know & have examples of a real problem, but they don't have proper scripture to back it up. This is what plagues spiritual leaders the most when when dealing with spiritual warfare: labeling it.

While most of the church believes in demon possession and oppression, there's not much scripture to lock it down to a science, so to speak. Perhaps that's why there's not much accurate writing/videos on it in the first place.
once one believes and have denounced their self and agreed to dead to self via the cross of Christ. then the warefare is no longer carnal
[h=3]2 Corinthians 10[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[h=3]The Spiritual War[/h]10 Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. [SUP]2 [/SUP]But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, [SUP]5 [/SUP]casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, [SUP]6 [/SUP]and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

If I am reading Bible correctly you're not going to like the answer. Satan is a deceiver and he will be judged for the evil he did,he will not be judged for what men and women do. Men and women are judged for the evil in their hearts and what they do. The Bible is very clear on that. People love to use him as a scapegoat for everything. But God will not allow us to do that.
yep Sister the unredeemed flesh is accountable if not willing to die to self, and believe God ad come to life in God through the resurrected Christ

I got the ultimate Pentecostal/charasmatic/etc cliche sounding title.

The three-fold ESD infection.
Flesh controlling is the name for it, Paul has written throughout his writings that the problem is the unredeemed flesh, so die to it with Christ at the death of Christ. Be co-crucified if God willing, cry out for this Mercy of God to be received, so you might be able to walk in the newness of life, as romans 6 is so clear about and romans 7 too!!!!!!!!!

And, this too, this choosing to do sins, don't kid yourself, Satan and his demons are OUT THERE leading you (misleading) to your OWN destruction. :(

I don't like the Jezebel spirit definition because most people are not with demon possession in their body but they STILL can do evil things, sin, and, still be a Christian, follower of God.
Sin and still be a Christian, yes and on their way to the whole truth hidden in God, the mystery revealed in the cross, and this includes the power of the resurrected Christ. He came to give us life here on earth and more abundantly, John 10:10 and the thief one's flesh is still out trying to steal, kill and destroy, using one's flesh emotions to do this very thing.
And is why by the death od Christ we at die to self with Christ daily, so we might be able to see the new life in the Spirit that we are given as a gift from God here and now, being content in all things, no matter whether it appears good or bad.
Count it all Joy
James 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

LOVE?

John 8:24
That is why I told you that you will die in your sins, for unless you believe that I AM, you'll die in your sins."

Galatians 1
No Other Gospel

6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.

anathema: that which is laid up, i.e. a votive offering
Original Word: ἀνάθεμα, ατος, τό
Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter
Transliteration: anathema
Phonetic Spelling: (an-ath'-em-ah)
Short Definition: a curse, a cursed thing
Definition: a votive offering, a thing devoted to God; a curse, the thing cursed.

331 anáthema (from 303 /aná, "up" concluding a process, which intensifies 5087 /títhēmi, "to place") – properly, place up, referring to something pledged (given up) to destruction; a divine curse/ban ("accursed"); an "oath-curse."

[331 (anáthema) is the root of the English word, "anathema."]

it appears some things are non-negotiable.
Thanks, Love appreciate you and this post, I never said I do not believe, I do believe God at God's word and am learning each and every day more and more, and one thing stands to mind in me more is God's Love spread out through the one's that believe. God's love to all is the fruit of the Spirit of God and leads one to say no to all unrighteousness, trusting God to do this through them, dead to themselves and alive to The Spirit of God by the resurrected Christ

And God's love is non-negotiable:
Luke 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

Now today there a lot of people claiming Christianity and are only worshipping with their lips, hearts being far from them.
And the only way one can love all is by being born again of God's Spirit, for no flesh can do God's type of Love ever.
Thanks Sister

I found this one on another website: What is the Jezebel spirit?

Question: "What is the Jezebel spirit?"

Answer:
There is a variety of opinions about what constitutes a Jezebel spirit, everything from sexual looseness in a woman to the teaching of false doctrine—by a man or a woman. The Bible does not mention a Jezebel spirit, although it has plenty to say about Jezebel herself.

Jezebel’s story is found in 1 and 2 Kings. She was the daughter of Ethbaal, king of Tyre/Sidon and priest of the cult of Baal, a cruel, sensuous and revolting false god whose worship involved sexual degradation and lewdness. Ahab, king of Israel, married Jezebel and led the nation into Baal worship (1 Kings 16:31). Ahab and Jezebel’s reign over Israel is one of the saddest chapters in the history of God’s people.

There are two incidents in the life of Jezebel which characterize her and may define what is meant by the Jezebel spirit. One trait is her obsessive passion for domineering and controlling others, especially in the spiritual realm. When she became queen, she began a relentless campaign to rid Israel of all evidences of Jehovah worship. She ordered the extermination of all the prophets of the Lord (1 Kings 18:4,13) and replaced their altars with those of Baal. Her strongest enemy was Elijah, who demanded a contest on Mount Carmel between the powers of Israel’s God and the powers of Jezebel and the priests of Baal (1 Kings 18). Of course, Jehovah won, but despite hearing of the miraculous powers of Jehovah, Jezebel refused to repent and swore on her gods that she would pursue Elijah relentlessly and take his life. Her stubborn refusal to see and submit to the power of the living God would lead her to a hideous end (2 Kings 9:29-37).

The second incident involves a righteous man named Naboth who refused to sell to Ahab land adjoining the palace, rightly declaring that to sell his inheritance would be against the Lord’s command (1 Kings 21:3;Leviticus 25:23). While Ahab sulked and fumed on his bed, Jezebel taunted and ridiculed him for his weakness, then proceeded to have the innocent Naboth framed and stoned to death. Naboth’s sons were also stoned to death, so there would be no heirs, and the land would revert to the possession of the king. Such a single-minded determination to have one’s way, no matter who is destroyed in the process, is a characteristic of the Jezebel spirit.

Perhaps the best way to define the Jezebel spirit is to say it characterizes anyone who acts in the same manner as Jezebel did, engaging in immorality, idolatry, false teaching and unrepentant sin. To go beyond that is to engage in conjecture and can possibly lead to false accusations and divisiveness within the body of Christ.

Note: Although the phrase "jezebel spirit" is used on these sites, I believe it to be a misnomer, though the true symptoms actually exist.

Continuing.......... From Identify and remove the Jezebel spirit | Heaven Awaits

In the Bible, Jezebel was a powerful, wicked queen, and wife of a passive king called Ahab. She was a false prophetess who worshiped the false god, Baal. Baal was the god of prosperity, god of the harvests, god of fertility and sex. (Does this sound like some of the modern day gospels that some people preach?)
Child sacrifices were common. She was killed by several eunuchs at the order of commander Jehu.
Jezebel was a witch, and her spirit of witchcraft is still in operation today in the church, and in the world. It will take both a Jehu and the cooperation of the injured victims (spiritual eunuchs) to kill her again.

The Jezebel spirit is sociopathic. Behaviors you might see (3 or more):
1. They gain power by destroying others. It is like an adrenalin rush when they “win” over someone. They manage to get in positions of authority, and are difficult to displace, once there.

2. They are controlling, manipulative, bossy.

3. they can either be war-like in their personalities, so that they are intimidating,
or
so “sweet,” “perfect,” deceitful, “timid” and sneaky, they are able to fool and recruit others to join them. Sometimes they can be very charming and charismatic.

4. critical of others, vicious to the point of bloodthristy.

5. they are never wrong.

6. They recruit others in their charges against their victims. They act to persuade recruits, and do not give up this activity until the recruits are won over. If the potential recruits do not cooperate and buy into things, this angers them.

7. they are narcissic. While they can tend to be oversensitive themselves, they have no concern for the feelings of others. They are not sympathetic to their victims, and tend to play the role of victim themselves, in order to gain sympathy. This way the real victim is left stranded, and opposed by others if they ask for help. Being the center of attention really pleases them.

8. they lie, and they believe their own lie. Avoiding the truth, or intentionally acting to withhold truth is part of this. false picture is presented to others.

9. impulsive, failure to plan ahead. chaotic at times

10. lack of remorse after hurting someone. they justify the harm.

11. consistent irresponsibility.

12. irritability, aggressiveness (open , or subtle), can be quick tempered.
13. failure to conform to social norms. person is an “outlier” or non-conformist. has their own ways.

14. psychological counseling will not help, since they deny what they are.

15. claims to religious sentiments, but very superficial in devotion. Born-again status is debatable, and unlikely, but would have to be evaluated on an individual basis.

16. usually women, but can be men. The women tend to control their men with sex. And they pick passive men (Ahabs) so they can dominate them.

17. usually married. If single, could be lesbian, homosexual man, or promiscuous man.
18. They falsely accuse you, and they do NOT forgive you

How to break this spirit:

**since these individuals usually have achieved some level of authority, only someone who outranks them, or a group effort will work. If you are a woman, you need to strong and self confident. If you are a man, you need to be the same, and also not be influenced by threats or tears out of a woman. You also need to have enough male hormone to stand up to her. Also, if you are a man, and this is your wife, be sure the men in your support group can be trusted with her.

1. be sure you are not enabling this person; ie. you are not an “Ahab”

2. gather facts about the person’s activity and behavior, be able to prove it. you have to start by addressing real behavior. you cannot start by telling someone “they have a spirit.” Be prepared to question the person why they behave that way. Make a list of wrongs. Be prepared.

3. gather witnesses, who are also sincere believers (if in a church setting), or other credible authority figures, because the person will attack back, and deny everything. The aggressive types will use their authority to abuse, criticize, & threaten you, and try to have you discredited, or removed. The more sneaky types go into “victim hood” mode, immediately trying to solicit and recruit support, and make you look like you are the abusive one.

4. isolate the person. make sure their own recruits (buddies) are not around. It gets its power from others
….so if you get it alone, it is more vulnerable, and more easily defeated. You have to remove the source of its power and “gang up” on it.

5. confront the person with the facts. – expect denial. They will lie through their teeth!!

6. Reject the person’s behavior based on the facts. Tell the person they will not be accepted back into the group unless they repent.

7. If the person repents – showing willingness to change- then
a. Church setting – as a group, bind and cast out the demonic spirit in Jesus name, and persist until it is gone.Expect high resistance, since it is a controlling (witch) spirit. There will be screaming and yelling before it is cast out. It will try to attack you and call you names. Also, expect and ignore plays of “victim hood” during deliverance. Sometimes the spirit cycles between being the attacker, and being a victim. This is to confuse you, so do not give in.

b. secular setting – document records, give warning that future behavior will be monitored. This is because their basic nature has not changed yet, and an eventual repeat of behavior will occur. If it does, the person needs to be fired.

8. Once the spirit is gone, the person needs support and counseling to examine how the spirit entered to begin with, so they can close the door on further attempts by the spirit to enter.

9. If the person does NOT repent, then cut off ties with the person, telling them forgiveness and deliverance is available to them. If you do not cut off ties, they will worry you to death and destroy your peace.

As one commenter stated: The Jezebel needs to learn the meaning of the word “NO!!!!!!!!!“

That's the easiest way to weed them out....just tell em no......flattery and charm might be used in an attempt to get you to change your mind but if they've already tried that, then you will see the negativity, guilt tripping, and finally.....threats. It's very predictable behavior....don't underestimate how charming they can be though....IMO that's what makes them so dangerous....they are very good at it.

Some of these points make it look like the JS hunters, could in fact be the true JS.

For example. a sign of a JS..
6. They recruit others in their charges against their victims.
But then how to treat a JS.

gather witnesses, who are also sincere believers
isolate the person. make sure their own recruits (buddies) are not around.
Another symptom of a JS
5. they are never wrong.
Try to tell a JS hunter that they're wrong in their suspicions and they'll defend it to the death.

This list could almost be made about anyone, and the remedies for the JS actually turns people into a JS to a certain extent.

So basically a guy who accuses a JS of.

6. They recruit others in their charges against their victims.

Suggest doing this..
gather witnesses, who are also sincere believers
isolate the person. make sure their own recruits (buddies) are not around.
Sorry but that sounds like a wolf pack. It's just as JS as the JS they claim to be against. Let someone have a fair defense if you're bringing charges. Don't isolate them. If what is being accused is the truth, then their buddies help won't matter.

That's a valid criticism, very logical point.

However, I wouldn't identify myself as a JS hunter....I do believe it's an actual spirit at work and I've dealt with it before. Just daily prayer and not buying into to whatever you think a JS is trying to sell you is enough to protect yourself in my experience. Most of their danger comes from an ability to engineer your consent....not any true power of their own.

in the original post and others the term "we",,,"were",, "we will" appears many times and then throughout the post. who is "we" that we are speaking to is it only one individual or a religious organization?

Doesn't this whole thing arrange it so the "suspect" is basically going to fit the accusation regardless of anything?

The aggressive types will use their authority to abuse, criticize, & threaten you, and try to have you discredited, or removed.
I mean if they rebut the accusations you can just say...Oh there is a JS using their authority, and criticizing us.

Also this part..
threaten you, and try to have you discredited, or removed.
Isn't that exactly what the JS hunters are doing to the JS?

The more sneaky types go into “victim hood” mode, immediately trying to solicit and recruit support, and make you look like you are the abusive one.
Obviously someone accused of something terrible as being a JS isn't going to feel happy about it. But if they show any amount of emotional distress, or show any sign of wanting support, then that can be written off as "JS just acting like a victim"

5. confront the person with the facts. – expect denial. They will lie through their teeth!!
Of course someone accused of something is going to deny it. But if the denial is true, that will be written off as..JS lying through their teeth.

This whole thing is engineered in such a way that the JS accusers can never be wrong!
Which is odd cuz.
5. they are never wrong.

---------
And again..the proposed method to confront JS..
4. isolate the person. make sure their own recruits (buddies) are not around. It gets its power from others….so if you get it alone, it is more vulnerable, and more easily defeated. You have to remove the source of its power and “gang up” on it.
Then the description of JS..

1. They gain power by destroying others. It is like an adrenalin rush when they “win” over someone. They manage to get in positions of authority, and are difficult to displace, once there.
6. They recruit others in their charges against their victims.
It looks like JS searchers are more likely to be the JS they are looking for.

Ok so we're back to Rev 2:20.
This video does just what I described earlier.
It says JS exists.
Looks for it in Bible.
Sees word jezebel in Rev 2.
Says..see there it is.
Then goes about pinning preconceived ideas of a JS upon the JS while ignoring the ONLY qualities said verses describe..

IE claims to be a prophetprophetess.

I'm just going to acknowledge at this point some folks are bent on believing their preconceived ideas of JS while ignoring the template of the ONE NT rereference they cite.
