Is this where the money of the wicked is laid up to the righteous? It isn't coming through so clear at this point.

Who do we serve if we have enough for all, and yet most live poor? Their wealth is indeed stored up!

Ok, well, I suppose I must ask............do you own the computer you are using to post? Do you own/rent a dwelling? Do you own/lease a vehicle? Do you own more than one pair of shoes? Do you own more than the clothes on your back?

Goodness, don't people really understand that the Church (especially in America) does so very much world wide for the poor, the afflicted, the hungry, the oppressed? Seriously............they really, really do!

People seem to WANT OTHERS to "sell all they possess, give the proceeds to the poor, and take up their cross and follow Jesus," and, hey, that's admirable...........but "leading by example" is also admirable

1st Timothy 5:8) But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

In my opinion, we who provide for our "own" (being the Church and our household) are in obedience to Scripture. Money (or possessions) is not the root of all evil, THE LOVE of money is...........big difference there to me.

Just saying...........Christians, the Church do so very much, and seemingly few are willing to give them credit for what they do. MAYBE, just maybe if folks would give a wee bit of credit to the Church, instead of criticizing, the Church would get all fired up and do even more? Hey, it could happen........

1st Corinthians 14:12) Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

The Apostle Paul is right...........we should EXCEL to the EDIFYING of the Church, not the criticizing.......but, now, that may be just me.................so...........

anyway, God bless

To 'sell all possessions' means that whatever is held at gain over another, to lose value in it to save such as have not. We can NEVER feed the poor with money no matter how much we give. But if we devalue the system, we feed all of mankind.

No matter how one may view my message, THIS SYSTEM WILL FALL! Do not be deceived when it does.

Well, yes, the system.........the world WILL FALL.......and be destroyed.......but then I don't put my faith in the "system."

Not for nothing, but the OP and this comment don't seem to be along the same lines...........but that may well just be me.
As well, lest we forget...............Jesus certainly FED THE POOR (poor in spirit) with His Gospel.........AND HE fed them with wee little fishies and bread 'till their tummies were full.........AND, lest we forget, one of the last things He did prior to His ascent to the Throne was to COOK BREAKFAST for the disciples on the beach.........

We have a duty to FEED the poor BOTH spiritually and physically........but that's just me.......so........

The Lord said this in regard to the poor:
Matthew 26:11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. Till the end of time the poor will be here. Do good when you can. Christ is the main focus.

I don't think most of our churches has the spirit of Christ. It is true that we give outside our church to charity. But there is need inside our church, too. I am supplying a homeless woman with a home but my church just tells me not to ask them for more than a prayer for her once in awhile. We had a man come to see if it would be good to bring his family to church, but I was the only one who spoke to him. I have no way to get to church on Sunday, but no one will help, although I am blessed with a ride to bible study. I told the group of a need I found for a note of encouragement for someone very alone, but they would only sign a card, not give a personal note saying they cared.

God watches what we do, what our works are. God also knows our heart and asks that our works come from our heart. God has us gather in groups of family belonging to Him. That is how our churches are to be. We are to love and watch out for those in our God family. The OT gives us instructions in how to do that, and it tells of how in the NT, too for those of you who say we are not to listen to God as He talks of Himself in the OT. We know that obeying without loving also is useless, but these tell out to live out our love for others.

Perhaps when the "church" stops pretending to be Christian (followers of the Christian Messiah) and feeding only itself, and begins to take reasonable care to feed, clothe, shelter, and provide adequate medical care to the poor, homeless, or infirmed?

You don't seem to grasp that EVERY THING we have and this includes MONEY is from God. Every last cent. Every last shoe lace, every last carrot. Everything.

Did not the Lord say "the poor you will have with you always? Why do you keep insisting that we get rid of the money? Money is ordained of God just like the grass the cows eat. Money is good. Love of money more than God is bad. Simple no? Give unto Cesar the things that are Cesar's and God the things that are God. If Jesus said He has over come the world which was cesar's, then Jesus owns all of it lock stock and barrel. It's all Gods. We are to be good stewards of it and that includes money. And money is biblical. Money isn't necessarily a piece of paper or gold or silver or copper, it can be a shoe. Money is what you make it to be and that can be bad or good. Why not teach about the good money can do instead of always condemning it? Unless I'm misunderstanding your point!

God don't make money. I see men printing currency. What do you think is happening now? What good is money when people starve for lack of it in a world that has more than enough?

I think that God doesn't expect us to feed the world, but take care of our own group. When you study the organization of the first churches, that seems to be the case. In the OT, it was established that each group was to take care of their own. God made provision for the "stranger among you", that was the gentiles who moved among the Jewish group.

By studying the OT we can see the principles that God uses to operate His world through the lives God tells of. They were never told to organize charity for nations that worshipped idols, but God had a lot to say about their taking care of each other.

You say what good is money, money is good, it's the love of money that causes the lack of it in a world that has more than enough. No? Hey I'm just tearing into your point of view to understand it more clearly that's all. I'm just asking.

Because of the love we give money, most starve! 18 million homes empty, 3 million homeless, and the only thing keeping them from those houses is our love of money.

It is God's will that the world have an economic colapse. Only then will people listen.

Ok if it's God's will, then it will happen but you can't make it happen before it is ment to happen. I do agree one hundred percent with you that people are homeless and strarving but money is only paper like a gun, guns don't kill people people kill people and money never starved anyone, but the love of money did.

That is why it is to be taken away. All through our history, it was MEN moved by the Holy Spirit who spoke and acted for God.

Please discern the season. Our government is shut down! They may at best have only a few bandages left.

When it happens, men like me will guide the people into learning how to work for one another out if love and not a pay check.
