It doesnt say we go around the son though it is more implying that both are still
That the earth is rotating about its axis as it orbits out sun is made plain in Gen 1, as each creation 'day' is terminated with the phrase...'evening and morning'.....of which, you cannot have alternation of evening an morning unless the earth is already rotating about the sun...

Unless the sun and the day/night cycle is rotating about the Earth. But you were so indoctrinated with heliocentrism, you never thought of that, did you? :D

I wonder what the Earth orbited on days 1 - 3, if the Earth orbits the sun. And if it didn't orbit anything then, but only started orbiting the sun on day 4, I wonder why God didn't mention this in the bible. Such thoughts don't arise if the sun orbits the Earth.

Your position emanates from scriptural ignorance.

Our sun was created before creation 'day' one, according to Gen 1...

Lol. Scripture says nothing of the sort. Do you not hold that the greater and lesser lights are what we call the sun and the moon? :D

Genesis 1: 14 - 19 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: 15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. 16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, 18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. 19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

These Hebrew creation verbs are different than used in Gen 1.1

Day four is parenthetical and informs the reader that the sun and the moon are made visible from the vantage point of the earth's surface for the regulation of the seasons for the more advanced life forms to follow.

Study up...

It sounds as if you are reading into scripture more than it actually says. :| The "theistic evolutionists" do it, too. Still don't make it right.

So...what are your thoughts on the truth of the Holy Bible based upon the physically testable things?

how can anybody know that the bible is true when it was written so long ago with many different versions all contradicted each other. It is also not the only ancient religious book that has been written so why not believe them, surely some one is wrong. How do you know that Buddhism,Islam, Hinduism or maybe one of the Greek gods (Zeus, Apollo Posidian) or maybe a Norse god (viking).

P.S. please no " you need to have faith" or "your wrong because it is/isn't in the bible" answer
It's not like the bible is a storybook. It's a history book that tells of all the events that have to do with god. The only reason the other other religions exist is because of our creativity, or the devil had made them up and told humans about them. The other religions are not very believable. Have you ever seen a satyr (half goat half man) here on earth? I doubt it. And reincarnation is a bad belief. What's the point in being reborn if you haven't learned from your previous life's mistakes? The bible is reliable, the other religions, not so much.

I have many thoughts and opinions on it but after reading what alot of post on this site I do not no what is right or wrong. I doubt I ever will. I have heard to many opinions and facts to really make up my mind. There seems to be alot of evidence in the favor of god and against.

I suppose in away I feel as though the Bible could be wrong or misinterpreted (just a thought)

only way to actually know if everything is the truth is to be truly born again and receive the holy spirit that will guide you through all truths

The study of scripture is a life long endeavor...constantly refining your understanding of what has been written. Like anything that you read and study, the more times that you read through the material, the more details you will pick up.

My advice to you is to keep at it, and convince yourself which has the most evidence going for it.

As Christians, we can safely say that the Holy Bible is the final truth....even though we, ourselves, may disagree on the details of all the truth that it contains...

Hinduism is older than Christianity there are alot of religions that have been in existence 1000 of years before jesus was around. Christianity is a newish religion in comparison

Why would the devil make up religions there would be no point in that

no i have never seen "Half goat man" but I also haven't seen somebody walk on water turn water to wine or heal people with no explanation. I also haven't seen water part down the middle. I have never spoke to God.

Also you say reincarnation is a bad belief What about Jesuses reincarnation

You say other religions are not reliable but have you personally researched into there beliefs fully and understood them fully

For me OP, I had a pretty harsh "musashi face" prayer to "whatever you are, God", and said "ok, enough of the confusion, I want to know what the deal is. why did you bother to make me, and make me wonder, if you will not clarify it all?"
I went through a short "Job" state of mind.

A short time later, I decided that since the concept of money was such a piece of garbage, that I would just start giving it away to help others who were having hard times. A key note on this, I was earnestly concerned for their welfare, not just giving as a reward seeking mechanism. Because I was also giving my physical labor and time as well. And the money I was giving away wasn't my extra money, it was money that I "needed" to pay my own bills and such. I then got my answer to the "why" question in the prayer mentioned above.
I had been blocked from answers, because I had been focused on myself instead of other people.

I tossed out all, or at least most, of the precepts that I had been given about religion and began to re-read the bible, and many other religious texts in a different way, with the assumption that regardless of translation accuracy and literality, it all speaks through metaphor, and that they all use the same "encryption" set. A key note on this, I do believe the miraculous things mentioned in the bible happened, but not primarily to showcase the miracles, rather to ensure that the story that is recorded yields a metaphor that targets me on the inside.

What I found is that many of those stories are a historical record of things that have happened in me, spiritually, some are happening right now, and some are laid out before me. I have expectations, backed up with a present and past tense witness of the 40 or so years of my life that I can remember. All recorded for me, and anyone who believes, long ago.
I know what to expect in my life in the future. And it is sweet in the mouth, sour in the belly. Excruciating, yet not trade-able for all the money in the world.

"Behold, I send my messenger before thy face"
That messenger is the text I'm staring at when I read that verse.
It is quite frankly, "before your face"

An example, at one point I was totally unable to fall asleep except on one side of my body for a very long period of time. Immediately in one day, I was then unable to fall asleep except on the other side of my body. Means a lot when I then read that in Ezekiel, and retrospectively consider the durations and they match up to the time frames given in the text.

And the grand finally of this, is that I finally challenged God personally on the concept that He will deliver the specific tortures preached by modern religions based on the trivial mechanics of those religions.
And found that those hateful translations of His word are "hog wash", what swine wash themselves in.
"Leavened bread", if you like a metaphor that is not as harsh.

I believe 1 timothy 2:1-6 in all of it's "in your face", to the point, matter of fact, literal penmanship.

"Born again" is relearning everything.

Encapsulated, my message is this -
Love God
Love others
Turn away from messing up, so that it stops happening, and enter the kingdom of "heaven"

If a person does this, the bible is their personal witness, instead of an external confusion.

And now I have lived and proclaim...
All glory, honor and power to Him who sits on the throne.
Because my warped imagination alone would not have yielded the results that I have experienced.

The Jesus Christ that I believe in is much bigger and personal and down to earth, than the one I was taught in church.

There's my witness, for what it's worth. Hope it helps you somehow.
