The sabbath was just a shadow, to the holy spirit rest as of the entire commandments it was not the reality, was just a shadow, Jesus christ is the true sabbath, and indeed we are at rest those whom he has received and has cease from our earthly works of Sin and has now become a servant of righteousness through his spirit

No, yet:
Romans 14:5
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

So, does this solve the problem in one day viewers and others that are not one day viewers, as me every day is alike and am in rest with God forever and can't stop thanking God for this amazing given free gift salvation, done through Son Christ
As I have posted many times, I am so thnkful I saved this and don't have to rewrite it...

Rom 14:1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

The first thing we see here is that this chapter is about relating to a weak brother.

Rom 14:2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

The subject here? Vegetarianism

Rom 14:3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

So, if you encounter one who is weak in the faith and believes he must eat vegetables only, don’t let this puff you up…

2Co 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

What is the gold standard here?

1Pe 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Rom 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Now to the meat and potatoes…

Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Why is eating and fasting (not eating) connected to days here? Let’s see…

Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

From Bullingers Companion Bible…

Luke 18:12

twice in the week. The law prescribed only one in the year (Lev_16:29. Num_29:7). By the time of Zec_8:19 there were four yearly fasts. In our Lord's day they were bi-weekly (Monday and Thursday), between Passover and Pentecost; and between the Feast of Tabernacles and the Dedication.

Yes they fasted two days a week, Monday and Thursday, EVERY MONDAY and EVERY THURSDAY.

Rom 14:7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
Rom 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
Rom 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Rom 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
Rom 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Rom 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Rom 14:15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

Now Paul shifts his attention to meat offered to idols. At the time, meat and drink were offered to pagan idols. After it was offered it was sold in a meat market called the ‘Shambles’.

1Co 10:25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

Shambles…

G3111
μάκελλον
makellon
Thayer Definition:
1) a place where meat and other articles of food are sold, meat market
Part of Speech: noun neuter
A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: of Latin origin [macellum]
Citing in TDNT: 4:370, 549

There were those who were weak in the faith (verse 1) who were offended by this. They somehow thought that eating that food was somehow connecting them with the idolatrous practices around them. This is why the following is written…

Rom 14:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Meat here is…

G1035
βρῶσις
brōsis
bro'-sis
From the base of G977; (abstractly) eating (literally or figuratively); by extension (concretely) food (literally or figuratively): - eating, food, meat.

Notice it is food, not clean or unclean flesh.

G4213
πόσις
posis
pos'-is
From the alternate of G4095; a drinking (the act), that is, (concretely) a draught: - drink.

Drinking, can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. Paul was dealing with ascetism and the belief that doing without was somehow a show of character. He dealt with this issue at Colossae also…

Col 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Col 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

Rom 14:18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Rom 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Rom 14:20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.

The word for meat here is broma, from Thayer’s…

G1033
βρῶμα
brōma
Thayer Definition:
1) that which is eaten, food
Part of Speech: noun neuter
A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from the base of G977
Citing in TDNT: 1:642, 111

Again, we are dealing with food.

Rom 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

So, it is not dealing with clean and unclean, but with flesh (meat) and wine (drink) that makes a weak brother stumble.

Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

There is no passage in Rom 14 that deals with the Sabbath or clean and unclean meats. The subjects are vegetarianism, fasting and food and drink offered to idols.

No one here should ever accuse another of having a temper just because they firmly adhere to what they know to be true. No one hears the tone of the person posting, and anyone saying another is angry is adding to what has been posted, that is to say, lying. One need not hear the tone to know is something is true or a lie.

The Bible says that God blessed the 7th day at creation. No other day has been blessed. The blessing of the 7th day has not been removed.
If I may add to this, the Sabbath is the test command...

Exo 16:4 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.

Applied specifically to the Sabbath. It is still the test Command today.

It is also the sign...

Exo 31:13 "Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: 'Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you.

Exo 31:17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.' "

The interesting thing about this subject is that you will not find this kind of controversy about murder or adultery or taking God's name in vain, but then again, those are not the TEST Commands.

This is what I see in the multitude of law vs. grace, law is abolished, “juaizers’”, Sabbath, laws we need to keep now, circumcision, etc. posts on the many threads dealing with those subjects as well as other threads where an argument of such can be slipped in and derail an otherwise edifying thread, is always repeating the same arguments against the value and purpose of the Old Testament law over and over, a dreadful misunderstanding of what it means to be in Covenant with God, and willful misinterpretation of other’s posts by not thoroughly reading what they say or just plain loving to argue.

There is a verse that illustrates this situation and describes these people. It is:
[h=1]2 Timothy 3:7 (NAS) “always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”[/h](CJB – the version condemned by those who consider the law abolished) “ who are always learning but never able to come to full knowledge of the truth.”
(And the old standby KJV) “ Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

So regardless of which translation you prefer, it isn’t a complimentary picture of those individuals.

Sabbath is a shadow of the 1000 yr regin.

This has not been fulfilled yet, just like the last 4 Feasts days, not yet fulfilled.

So I am in training for what is to come!

Was not Jesus rest for the OT saints in Sheol?
Isn't Jesus (Heaven) our rest when we die?

People in the millennium will not be in rest. They just won't have war, sickness, famine or be tempted from satan. They will still need to harvest food, clean cloths, sweep the floors and go to work.

The 1000 year reign IS THE REST.

Amazing prophecy alert!

Hosheyah (Hosea) 6:1-3, "Come, and let us return to Yahweh! Although He has torn, yet He will heal us; He has wounded, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; in the third day He will raise us up, and we will live in His sight. Then let us acknowledge, let us pursue the knowledge of Yahweh. His appearing is as certain as the morning. He will come to us like the rain, like the former and latter rain, to the earth"

Messiah came in the 4th day (around year 4000),

after 2 days He will return (around year 6000, "end of the 6th day", Yahweh does "hold things back aka extend to fulfill the numbers of His kingdom)

the 7th day year 6001-7000 is the "mellinieal reign" aka the true Sabbath rest!

SO I am in training and honor and respect and great anticipation and joy!

This has been brought up in the forum several times landing on deaf ears or blind eyes, not sure which, though as well deliniated as you have here. I pray people understand. This is the reason it is so important to me to celebrate Adonai's Shabbat on the Day He appointed for there is a rest to come, amen....thanks

There are two ways ---TWO----that God speaks of rest to us. We are to listen to how God speaks to us. One is to stop work on the Sabbath so that we do physically what is spiritually asked of us, to give all ourselves to His care. The other is to spiritually, every day, agree that God is the one who created us and has dominion over us.

It is great when we point out biblical truths to each other, but when we say one truth cancels another truth, we are distorting the word of God and that is not good.

Full knowledge of truth, is to what I see is, it is all God and none of man. Christ took it all upon himself to save mankind from his flesh nature, by bringing life in the Spirit of God through his resurrection, justified in the Spirit and Father passes out new life, via the resurrected Christ. Read Rom 6:1-11, we are saved by the life, never by flesh works of mankind. By Jesus perfect works we are made Holy and righteous before Father, so that we get new life in the Spirit of Father once we finalize this fact
[h=3]Colossians 1:21-23[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

[SUP]21 [/SUP]And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled [SUP]22 [/SUP]in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: [SUP]23 [/SUP]if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

And we then enter the Sabbath rest for eternity here and now by Faith (belief) God did it all and we are thankful, as in Psalms 100:4

Past tense Brother he is already risen and so have I in the Spirit a free gift from Father through Son's finished work for all the put 100% trust in Father for this and we enter into his courts with thanksgiving and praise. He is risen and we are justified in him, thanks Jesus and Father for this amazing grace, and me, I appreciate this. So Father now teach me how to walk as Son walked, thanking you for the 100% forgiveness you have provided through Son. Time to move onto the new life, gotten over trying to be forgiven over and over. Could not ever see the new life without reckoning me dead to the old life via the death of Christ, being made co-crucified with the savior in the flesh

Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

It is by belief that one enters God's rest and that is for today in God's Spirit the born anew life, given to us by the resurrected Christ from Father to us the believers in the Spirit not flesh.
For they never entered his rest because of unbelief, even though they said they believed, yet not completely, mixing their own works with faith, is like trying to mix oil and water, they do not mixIt is either God all the way, getting all the credit or it is not of God complete

Hos 6:1 Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
Hos 6:2 After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight.
Hos 6:3 Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

These are all future tense and has dual meaning.

1) (Day for a year principle - Num 14:34 and Ezek 4:6) In the third day of the Tribulation Israel will repent adn turn to God and will be spared much of hte horror of the Day of the Lord.

2) (Day for 1000 year principle - II Pet 3:8) As Hizikyah so rightly pointed out, two thousand years after His crucifixion His Millenial reign begins and the true rest of Crhist comes to earth...

Isa 14:7 The whole earth is at rest and quiet; They break forth into singing.

I just looked up the Strong's for the Word unbelief. It is G543/apeitheia and means disobedience, as in willful sin.

Strange combination of words....Labour and rest...kind of an oxymoron? How does one labour so that they enter into that rest?. Answer: by belief/obedience/willfully keeping the commandments/Labour=work causes that rest.

Working at the law is not a biblical truth. That is a carnal understanding of a spiritual truth.

The Spiritual truth of the Sabbath is that we rest from our work just as He Rested From His Work.

Romans 7:5-6,14
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Working at the law is what the flesh does, that is your carnal understanding.

The Spirit doesn't work at the law. The Spirit is a law unto itself...
