that was for the jews according to the law. Jesus said we are no longer under law. or did you not read that also?
If you live under the law, you try to be saved without grace. When we are under grace it means that we can repent and be made clean supernaturally, but repent means turning to the law and trying to obey it.

Many things in the bible have leaned me further away from Christianity and leaves me confused. We pray to jesus and have to be like him yet, I see 10% of Christians LIVING like him. Must we not be like him and learn? To be a good christian we must not just "believe in jesus and live life" .. We also have to abide by the rules he gave us.

Who is jesus?

(John 5:30) ‘I (Jesus) by myself can do nothing – as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my will, but the will of thy who has sent me’.
(John 17:3) ‘This is eternal life, so that you may know there is one true God, and Jesus Christ, who Thou has sent.’
(Mathew 19:16-17) ‘One of the persons approaches Jesus, and says ‘Good Master, what good things shall I do, that I shall attain eternal life.’ And Jesus said unto him, ‘Why do you call me good? For there is none good, except One, that is God – And if you want to enter life, keep the commandments’.

-----------
“Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” John 3:4

"your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear” (Isa. 59:2)

mathew 12:36
I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,

Did jesus die for our sins or will we be judged?

----------

Why do we not follow jesus the way he wants us to

Mathew 5:48
"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect"

Why do we drink alcohol and Muslims dont
Ephesians 5:18
"And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,"

(Deuteronomy 14:8) ‘And the pig is unclean to you, because though it has a division in the horn of its foot, its food does not come back; their flesh may not be used for food or their dead bodies touched by you.’

1 Corinthians 6:9
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,"
makes sense why Muslims practice this yet we make fun of them..

Corinthians 11:6
"For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head."
why do you hate our muslim sisters for when god tells our women to do so

-----------

Jesus always greeted people with "peace be upon you"
tell me why muons always say that when they meet someone

many many verses about praying to god while face on ground.. Prostration
explain why we don't do these things please

----------
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.” Mathew 5:17
why do some say, the Old Testament is now to be followed?

Matthew 4:4: “…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”

“If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15)
why do so many Christians eat pork, drink alcohol etc etc.
we make the Muslims look good when they follow our book and they're book better than us.

---------
why do Muslims follow more things mentioned in the Koran and bible and Torah more than us and Jews?
why do we make fun of them for doing so when it is us who should be doing.

Mathew 5:44
"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,"

You're confused, I'M CONFUSED. So you think that Muslims follow more things mentioned in the Koran eh? And you have data right? Like you can see the actions of all Muslims and how they follow the law in their hearts. They have a lot more restrictions that seem visible, like public prayer. I pray daily and you may not know it, but it's dozens and dozens of times a day, and that is when I feel when I need holy interjection. Not at a scheduled, manufactured date and time. :) I live in the highest concentrated area of Muslims in the United States. And I work with the chemically dependent. I would say half of our current clients our Muslims. They are also the most likely to spew racial slurs on the unit, and that is a mere observation. I like most of them, but trust me, they are not following the Koran like you think. That is probably an unanswerable question. All I can say is that if you are thinking about leaving Christ, it's hard to know the degree he's been able to work in your life. Maybe a pastor can help you surrender a bit more to what the message really is. It's not about a club where all of the participants are consistent in behavior. It's about you and your relationship with Christ.

So you want me to tell you why other people do what they do? Are you even serious? Do you think I have that kind of mind reading ability? I have no idea why people make the choices they do. I'm a Christian. I have sin in my heart and sometimes I act on it. I do my best but even though I understand all the rules I don't always follow them. I am always punished for that and I am always learning to avoid that through the negative rewards of not obeying the father. I can only answer for myself.

No one can tell you what to believe. I know IN MY HEART, and that is how I know. I don't look toward others for answers, all eyes on God.

After reading your OP again, I wonder if you are christian ?
If I am not mistaken "Do not bear false witness." Is one of those commandments you are telling christians to obey.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnated in the flesh?
Do you believe Jesus Christ took upon himself the transgressions of the world and died on the cross, being the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only ours but for the sins of the whole world?
Do you believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and is seated at the right side of God the Father Almighty?

Please answer these questions for me in truth, so that I do not continue to think you are a liar.
Yes, exactly. It's hard to know how to respond when someone cannot profess.

I thought repent means to change your mind and agree with God about sin in one's life which results in one obeying the Word of God.

When you repent, you turn away from the sin and don't do it any more. I'm not talking about the law and being dead to it. I mean, having a relationship with Jesus. When you are in fellowship with Him, then you will obey him and love him. The sin that once had control over you will become repugnant to you.

I think someone is setting a trap with their question. The OP is bringing
confusion. I have been told if a Muslim becomes a Christian they are
beheaded. So much deception and I think there are some wise responses
here. Curious, however, did the OP get what he was after ? The title
says to me he is only wasting time. Pray I am wrong. We can love the OP.
But we can't make him see the Truth of Jesus Christ, our Savior who shed
His blood on Calvary for the remission of our sins. May the OP be able to
repent and receive the Savior of this World and accept Christ Jesus, our
Savior into his heart. The Lord God Almighty is using this opportunity to
teach and reach the unsaved. Amen ?

Correct, let me restate what i meant.
Bless you all first and foremost.

I love everyone, and am just trying to get some help, I dont know if i should stay christian or convert..
Help is all i need everyone. Who knows, maybe through these posts God can help me through you all.
Why dont christians in general follow what the bible says to do, as the jews follow the torah and muslims follow the quran,It makes sense that he was a messenger of god, and was born through gods spirit, which is mentioned in the quran and makes sense. Doesnt say jesus is god then says hes not, nor does it say about that for muhammad.
And muhammad is CLEARLY different then what i heard about in the media.
Christians athiest media people hate on muslims because theyre afraid people will find out the truth.
But im not here to talk about muslims, because were still christians..

Most of things christians believe in today were theories created in the olden times rather than actual scriptures in the bible..

CAN someone answer Every question i have please, with good sources PLEASE.
Im not asking for much but help, I have watched few videos on youtube which are very interesting and should help me out, I want to know if i should agree with those videos, because some will and some wont.
Thanks i have also left the videos down below. with the question i ask..

Do i believe jesus is god. or son of god?
Dont ask me that, ask our fellow christians who are still christian and dont believe that. Ask the christians who just say that because they dont know what else to believe. Ask jesus, who clearly does say dont ask him for anything..

May our Lord God Almighty bind the spirit that has this person confused.
Confusion is not of God. I see a lot of jumbled words not making sense.
So, why not take it one issue at a time ? When we try to cram too much
food into our body, it does not digest. One can end up bloated and miserable.
So, One step at a time for the sincere person seeking our Lord.
I believe personally there needs to be a deliverance from false religion and
then his mind will be clear and able to receive the Truth of our Lord Jesus
Christ. God bless all who help him, and may he understand the Truth of Our
Lord God ~ Perhaps he needs some good teaching from the beginning.
I believe demons can act like spider webs in the mind. They confuse and
the person is fighting a battle to clear their minds, when only Christ can
do that when they ask Him to set them free to know freedom and truth
of Christ. Forget about pointing fingers at others and point back to yourself.
Ask for your self... not others.... You will feel a peace like none other IF you
are sincere. I hope you are. The Lord bless you and keep you in His care.

People who go to church and say they are Christians play a lot of games with this. In the OT, people were told what we label the letter of the law. In the NT after we receive the Holy Spirit, there is a lot said about the spirit of the law. God wants both. Almost the entire chapter of Isaiah is saying this.

We are told many OT people simply obeyed. They were told to use blood for atonement, for instance. It was a symbol of Christ's blood, and God looked at their heart not the actual blood. So people went through the actions in the same way others used blood for idols, to curry favor for better crops not for atonement of their sins. Scripture says God did not want any of that. God wanted their heart.

We are often doing the same thing, but opposite. We say that when we obey it is always with spirit and truth. People don't do what is right any more only because scripture says so, we sometimes accept sin because our fleshly reasoning tells us it is OK. We have the Holy Spirit, most of us really try to follow that, but we live in a fleshly body, too. It requires discipline as well as the spirit of God, it requires both.

46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
" And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"-Do you also fit in this criteria?
How much do you pray for unworthy 'tax collectors like me?(like the one mentioned in the passage about tax collector and the noble man)'
Are you ready to testify how the Lord God leads you in everyday life, perfectly sinless?
'people like me' who don't have that perfect gene to deals with struggles in day to day life would be grateful..i was not born with Heavenly body, not saying am fully down but am not fully up either even though i wish i could...now i know am not lukewarm, but i also don't like this 'struggling to overcome' part and want to make it easy by getting out of the body when temptation comes.
The only relief i get is Prayer and Meditation on Word of God,and when i get release(becoming more and more nowadays),i pray for others and also guide them to fix the problems.Do you abandon such?Is that Jesus when you flee the place and point finger by sitting on a higher place set by yourself?
Are you convicting after trying to help them 70x7 everyday?
Building the house on rock takes time,..as it is build on rock. Please when you quote scripture explain also.Don't be easy going. That is confusing..If you want people to change suddenly, then be with them 24/7.They will when you motivate them always when they are cast down. But you will loose yourself.Isn't that a better way of doing things? There are countless lonely people who would appreciate it.And by seeing that example, many will follow that pattern and become like Christ like you did.Are you saying wont? You can't?...hmmmm...
No,i am not talking about prosperity preachers and followers of that,or hip hop new age christianism..but about people who are weak in Faith,do you need scripture?
How much are you in Peace with others in your local area?

You refuse to answer my post #23 , and are obviously not christian. You are a liar , misrepresenting yourself on this thread. If your purpose is to show us how christianity is false, you are failing miserably. chrisitans may not be perfect but we can recognize a deceiver when we see one. Unless you answer post # 23 in truth, I am done contributing on this thread.

Well, yet another American post on an international website which is not a Bible discussion. Really a discussion about whether a nation has moved to or away from the Bible is NOT scriptural. Because I have not seen hardly any, or maybe no actual Bible verses posted!

We as a church, consist of people who love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ with all our hearts. How can you really expect a secular body like a nation, or government to be Biblical? Even Israel and Judah strayed far from God in the Old Testament, and in the New Testament, the Pharisees made following God all about rules and they had a lot of influence over the government - witness the pull they had in getting Jesus crucified.

Worry about saving people, one by one, instead of the direction that your government and/or media is going.

"And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Go therefore andmake disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,[SUP]20 [/SUP]teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”" Matt 28:18-20

If you are about the business of making disciples, then you are in God's will. If you are not, then all the worrying about your government is not going to help the Kingdom of God. Governments don't make disciples! There is one brother in the Prayer forum who witnesses on the way to work in India daily to Muslims and Hindus and Sikhs. He asks for prayers for their salvation. How many of you are praying for this soul winner and the people he has shared a tract or a Bible with, in a foreign land? Or are you afraid that one day India will be more Christian than America?

Anyway, I'm off to start my poll about "Is Canada moving away from the Bible?" I invite Tintin to do the same for Australia, and some of our British friends like Phil to do it for the UK.

America is NOT the center of God's plans, rather each person in the world whom Christ died for. Endure some persecution in the US for while. It certainly has made the Chinese underground church stronger. Or the Korean church, which is a huge percentage of the country now.
