If I find it in the teachings of Jesus then yes I would. The teachings of Jesus is the standard for New Covenant people.
1 John 2:6 whoever says, “I abide in him,” ought to walk just as he walked.
John 12:48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.
Have you ever noticed that the Pharisees were always upset with Jesus for not keeping the Sabbath. And this just rolls off your back. And you assume that they were way off. And yet in the OT a man was killed for gathering wood and the people were rebuked for gathering manna. And Jesus' defended the disciples for rolling grain between their fingers and eating it. You say that you want to "walk just as He walked". Show me a verse where Jesus instructed anyone to keep the Sabbath - IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.
At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples became hungry and began to pick the heads
of grain and eat. [SUP]
2 [/SUP]But when the Pharisees saw
this, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath.” [SUP]
3 [/SUP]But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he became hungry, he and his companions, [SUP]
4 [/SUP]how he entered the house of God, and they ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for him to eat nor for those with him, but for the priests alone? [SUP]
5 [/SUP]
Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and are innocent? [SUP]
6 [/SUP]
But I say to you that something greater than the temple is here. [SUP]
7 [/SUP]
But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire compassion, and not a sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
1 Peter 2:4-10
[SUP]
4 [/SUP]And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,
[SUP]5 [/SUP]you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. [SUP]
6 [/SUP]For
this is contained in Scripture:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner
stone,
And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
[SUP]7 [/SUP]This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve,
“The stone which the builders rejected,
This became the very corner
stone,”
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]and,
“A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense”;
for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this
doom they were also appointed.
[SUP]
9 [/SUP]
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; [SUP]10 [/SUP]for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Scuba, you are barking up the wrong Tree when you are pushing the Sabbath. If you want to observe the Sabbath, Enjoy and I hope you are blessed. But stop forcing it on others, PLEASE. We have been freed from the Old Law. We have died to the Old, and live in the New. This does not mean that we encourage sin...well, you've read the Bible, so why should I repeat Paul (he made it very clear).
