I just don't understand how or why God would tell someone to marry a divorced woman when God's word says, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery (Luke 16:18)." God would never go against his own word. Do you understand my confusion here?
Your confusion is not taking in ALL of Gods Word.

This is a subject that needs to left alone. You are becoming the judge of persons. I believe that if a person prays and ask God for wisdom and direction he will give them that for only he knows our human needs. If I follow your mind set every overweight person that died, died a sinner. You folks need to let God, and pray for your own life decisions and not everybody else's. This type of talk surely won't bring people to Jesus because by what you are teaching is they are eternally lost due to adultery. God is the judge and he is a God of grace. Do not try to limit God's grace. Make sure what you post is in a manner that will bring the lost to Jesus.

Ephesians 2:4-10

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us,[c]5 made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! 6 Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, 7 so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift9 not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.

Stop trying to be God.

That's why you must understand all words in the Bible are not God's. Man spirit is written throughout the Bible, believe it or not. The Bible has been rewritten many times and the words have been added to and some deleted. Seek understanding from God, as he does not change like the Bible has.

To divorce and remarry is the sin of adultery. Even if a spouse cheats, to get divorced over that and to remarry is utter adultery.

Mark 10:11-12
Luke 16:18

Many Christians get divorced and remarried all the time. Sadly, they are in adultery.

My people perish for lack of knowledge... Knowledge has to be retained, otherwise it's not knowledge. Scripture's such as the ones I posted here lead to knowledge, but not many people receive it. You can lead a man to knowledge but you can't make him think. In today's matter, you can't make a man think for himself! In his flesh he will search to and fro through the ends of the earth looking for what his itching ears yearn to hear and receive. Not all Christian's have ears to hear what the Spirit says. Jesus in Matthe 19 even said that "Not everyone can receive this word".

I am currenlty seperated from my wife. If I date or seek another wife, I know I will be in sin. And if I remarried and died, then in my sin of adultery I will die and go to hell.

There is no grace for the things that i know and do now follow in the Lord. However if I didn't honestly know what the Scripture said, and i found out the truth, I would be under grace for my honest ignorance. "Ignorance is bliss"

Please read the Scriptures above before you reply, thank you.

The word is quicker and sharper than any twoedged opinion, cutting straight through the attitudes and intents of our deceitful hearts. hebrews 4:12
I agree if the person chose that person to marry. But what do you think if a teenage girl is kidnapped, raped, forced to marry by gunpoint, and later escaped and divorced him?

For God talks in many ways to his. For some people they limit themselves to the tv for their answers. The Holy Spirit messenger of God.

“For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless.” Malachi 2:16 ESV

The famous "God hates divorce" is not found in this verse.

You are showing your level of intelligence. You don't have to write me and ask what did I say in a post, just reread the post. Are we having fun yet!

This would fall under being accepted by our Lord for it falls under sexual immorality.

Matthew 5:31-32
31 “It was also said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.’ 32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Is this the law of God or is it as written in Matt 5:31 "It was also said" may I ask who said it? Adultery is highly immoral to me.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ said this.
So yes this is the law of the Lord our God under the new covenant.

In the OT a certificate for divorce was decreed in the mosaic law, but Jesus says that divorce is not acceptable unless it is done because of sexual immorality.
If done in sexual immorality that frees the person from committing adultery if they remarry. It will not be considered adultery now if the person remarries because the divorce was accepted by our Lord.
It would only be adultery if the first marriage's divorce was not accepted by the Lord, because it was not do to sexual immorality.

Well if you think a little isn't bad, how about this:

KJV Proverbs 11:16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

ASV Proverbs 11:16 [SUP] [/SUP]A gracious woman obtaineth honor; And violent men obtain riches.

The oldest New Testament text found to date has twelve less verses than the Bibles we have today. Somebody added twelve verses.

This verse in ASV seems to be written to male gangsters, Mafia, or gang bangers.

Do you not consider adultery to be an act of immorality?

Wow...my faith in Jesus is shattered...lol.
Keep your faith in Jesus and not in men. I believe in a real Jesus son of God, not as Richard Pryor described Jesus to really mean Jus-us or just us.
