So you have been baptized thousands brother.

When I was on Okinawa, in the US Air Force, I was Scuba Diving about 6 times a week. They had a type of green moray eel there that I used to call Big Ugly. I stuck my head in a hole in the coral one time looking for a Lobster, and came face to face with a Big Ugly. I backed out of that hole like I had been shot out of a canon.

And this is the only water deposit available surrounding. not even fit to immerse one person.

That picture came from a Google search and they said it was a Mikveh at an ancient ruins from about 1168. At the Jewish Temple they would have been elaborate and possibly ornate. Here are a couple of modern Jewish Mikvehs:

Compared to another ancient Mikveh pool.

AND that is in total agreement with WILL KEEP HIS COMMANDS, now isn't it? BUT when you try to MAKE that say you are not SAVED until the END, IT ONLY CREATES CONTRADICTIONS.

Acts 2:47 (ASV)
[SUP]47 [/SUP] praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were saved.

Romans 8:24 (GW)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] We were savedwith this hope in mind. If we hope for something we already see, it's not really hope. Who hopes for what can be seen?

Romans 5:10 (HCSB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, ⌊then how⌋ much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!

Ephesians 2:5 (NKJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
so you are saved with this hope in mind....and what if one loses that hope...you are teaching..OSAS ...so what is Paul telling Timothy here?....
It is clear the scripture teaches that men err from the faith and end in destruction and perdition...
1 Timothy 6:1-12King James Version (KJV)
6 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]But godliness with contentment is great gain.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Losing HOPE, is totally foreign to a born again Believer. Because the HOPE does not originate from us, NOR are we the ones holding on to it.

We are "STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD"!

what makes you think
{the baptism of the Spirit} = {speaking in tongues} ?

Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
(1 Corinthians 12:30)

(the answer is "no!")

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body --
whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free -- and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

(1 Corinthians 12:13)

i would think you can't prove any more than
{speaking in tongues}
{baptism of the Spirit}

Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire

Acts 1:5, 2:3-4 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And THIS tells me that if they do, they were not SAVED in the first place. No ONE can rip us out the hands of Jesus NOR the Father's hands, NOT EVEN SELF. PLUS Eternal Life has ALREADY been given to us, and it isn't ETERNAL if you can lose it.

1 John 2:19-20 (NIV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

how does that tell you they were not saved...are you the saviour?.....these are the people Paul was writing to...

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,
[SUP]2 [/SUP]To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

you are being ignorant ...go look at the letter to the Colossians...how can you say they were never saved....Paul is warning them because it could happen...and if it does you are saying they were never saved in the first place....if they were never saved then they could not have that hope....if they were not saved they could not continue in faith

I love how they always want to use this passage in 1 John to support their side, the problem with this is they miss the context and leave out the previous verses that tells just who is being talked about here. It is referring to those who are a type of antichrist, their sole purpose was to come in and corrupt the gospel. That is why they were not of us, because they were antichrists sent in to cause strife and corrupt the word.

Because THOSE HE SAVED, HE HANGS ON TO THEM TO KEEP THEM FROM FALLING AWAY. WHY DO I BELIEVE THAT IS SO? BECAUSE I BELIEVE GOD, just like Abraham did, without a doubting bone in my body. WHY is your faith so weak that you cannot TRUST GOD LIKE THAT? Don't you Believe what HE SAID HERE? DO YOU DOUBT WHAT GOD SAID THAT MUCH?

Philippians 1:6 (HCSB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FALLING AWAY, IF GOD HIMSELF THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE ONE WHO BEGAN THE GOOD WORK IN YOU. There is only Falling Away, IF the good work in you is OF YOURSELF, and NOT of GOD.

Good point Ken, They can not see the truth ,if they can not read Eng.101. All the epistles are written to a mixed multitude of saved and lost. Need I say more.? We are not God, we can not see the heart, we can only inspect the fruit. If the fruit is not good , it is because the tree ,MAY, NOT be good. ??? Only God know, those are His, and we all must depart from sin,to show our salvation is real. This is very elementary. Love to all, Hoffco

Jude 1:24 (NIV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] To Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy--

John 14:15 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

John 10:26-30 (ASV)
[SUP]26 [/SUP] But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep.
[SUP]27 [/SUP] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
[SUP]28 [/SUP] and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
[SUP]29 [/SUP] My Father, who hath given them unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
[SUP]30 [/SUP] I and the Father are one.

John 17:14-16 (NKJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should
keep them from the evil one.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

John 17:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are.

So tell me, WHY do you have trouble TOTALLY TRUSTING THE LORD GOD TO KEEP YOU FROM FALLING? That is what the Jewish definition of the word "Believes" is, you know? That word means to PUT YOUR WHOLE WEIGHT on what you claim to believe in, and YET, those who think they can lose their Salvation NEVER put their whole weight on JESUS CHRIST, they keep one foot on the ground, trying to do what they can to keep their Salvation themselves.

Here are those who FELL AWAY FROM THE TRUTH, and it even tells us WHY THEY CAME UP SHORT, when they ALL thought they were Christians:

Matthew 7:13-14 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

That small narrow gate is TOTAL TRUST IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, but those on the Broad Road want to trust in their own works.

Matthew 7:20-23 (HCSB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] So you’ll recognize them by their fruit.
[SUP]21 [/SUP] “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ⌊only⌋ the one who does the will of My Father in heaven.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’
[SUP]23 [/SUP] Then I will announce to them,
‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’

HERE IS TOTAL TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST:

Galatians 2:20 (ISV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] I no longer live, but Christ lives in me, and the life that I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

NOW if you REALLY BELIEVED it is CHRIST IN YOU doing to WORK because HE SAVED YOU, then you would have NO PROBLEM CONTINUING IN THE FAITH, because that KIND OF FAITH HAS ENABLED the Holy Spirit to PUT ETERNAL LIFE IN YOUR HUMAN SPIRIT (born again) which gives you the ability to TRUST HIM FOREVER. TO fall away shows that person had LESS THAN SAVING FAITH IN THE FIRST PLACE, thus they never were Born Again.

Falling Away, is not a Prodigal. THEY ALWAYS COME BACK. The one who never comes back proves by HIS FRUIT that he never was born again in the first place.

Matthew 7:20 (ISV)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] So by their fruit you will know them."

Fruit is lifestyle characteristics, not one time acts. So we can tell the genuine from the false by those lifestyle characteristics, but we have to observe those characteristics for some time to discern what kind of fruit it is:

Galatians 5:19-23 (ISV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, promiscuity,
[SUP]20 [/SUP] idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, rivalry, jealously, outbursts of anger, quarrels, conflicts, factions,
[SUP]21 [/SUP] envy, murder, drunkenness, wild partying, and things like that. I'm telling you now, as I've told you in the past, that people who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
[SUP]22 [/SUP] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[SUP]23 [/SUP] gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.

I have news for you, truly Born Again Christians want to fellowship with other Christians in the study of His Word and look forward to it.

Those who are NOT Born Again, still have their focus on SELF.

you seem to have your own personal setting for born again...you know all who are born again and all who are not..are you the one distributing the HS?

bro you are disjoint from reality...if that were so then the scripture would not say this...

Hebrews 10:24-26King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

[SUP]26 [/SUP]For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Why do you make assumptions on people when you do not know.
I trust the Lord with all my heart, soul, and mind which is why I follow and obey His commands as He says one who loves and has faith in Him will do.
The thing is I am not going to lie to others and not warn them of the same warnings He and the Apostles gave us in the epistles about how believers can fall away. It would be a lie, and not biblical to say believe and then go on and live your life however you want and not to tell them to watch out for and lead away by false doctrine, and willful sin.

Lord Jesus said more than once in the gospel that those who are His will obey and keep His commandments, and that He is not your Lord if you do not do the things He said.

Kenneth, There have been people on this post that say that people are NOT Saved
IF they are NOT "water baptized"

Question: "Can a Christian lose salvation?"

Answer:
Before this question is answered, the term “Christian” must be defined.
A “Christian” is not a person who has said a prayer,
or walked down an aisle,
or been raised in a Christian family.
While each of these things can be a part of the Christian experience,
they are not what “makes” a Christian.

A Christian is a person who has, by faith,
received and fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the only Savior
(
John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9).

So, with this definition in mind, can a Christian lose salvation?
Perhaps the best way to answer this crucially important question
is to examine what the Bible says occurs at salvation,
and to study what losing salvation would therefore entail.
Here are a few examples:

A Christian is a new creation.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!” (
2 Corinthians 5:17).

This verse speaks of a person becoming an entirely new creature
as a result of being “in Christ.”
For a Christian to lose salvation,
the new creation would have to be canceled and reversed.

A Christian is redeemed.
“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold
that you were redeemed from the empty way of life
handed down to you from your forefathers,
but with the precious blood of Christ,
a lamb without blemish or defect” (
1 Peter 1:18-19).

The word “redeemed” refers to a purchase being made,
a price being paid.
For a Christian to lose salvation,
God Himself would have to revoke His purchase
that He paid for with the precious blood of Christ.

A Christian is justified.
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (
Romans 5:1).

To “justify” means to “declare righteous.
” All those who receive Jesus as Savior are “declared righteous” by God.
For a Christian to lose salvation,
God would have to go back on His Word
and “un-declare” what He had previously declared.

God is both willing and able to guarantee and maintain the salvation He has given us.

Jude 24-25,
“To Him who is able to keep you from falling
and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy
—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.”
