I've heard about this, but I'm not excited... a few reasons...
1) Jesus did was not "killed", he laid down his life for us, he could have chosen not too at any point.
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. - I John 3:16
Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? - Matthew 26:52-54
2) Jesus is not a
muslim, but this one is.
3) Don't get your hopes up on liberal media portraying the gospel correctly. Read the Bible for yourself and don't believe everything you see.
I don't think any Christian gets their understanding of God from the media. However, the media can certainly be a tool God uses to peak those who are seeking Jesus to find him via that route.
All things happen according to God's will and for his glory.
As to your second point: No, Jesus was not a Muslim. However, the actor portraying Jesus is. There's a difference. An actor plays the roll of Jesus. He is not Jesus.
And thank God this man isn't blond haired blue eyed model like Jesus. Because that would not be fitting either. Furthermore, Muslim is a religion not a race. For all we know Haaz Sleiman an American who immigrated here from Lebanon, could be a Jew if we're judging from appearances. And it appears some are.
Haaz Sleiman, a surname derived from the anglo-saxon,
Soloman, is Muslim. And? He's an actor. His appearance is closest to what Jesus would look like more so than actor Diogo Morgado who portrayed Christ in, "The Bible" and "Son of God".
This is a TV show portraying the book about Jesus that was co-written by Bill O'Reilly. It is not a church. However, if it gets peoples attention about Jesus so that they seek out the Bible to learn about the savior of the world, which is something O'Reilly's book can never replace, thank God.
