Christ owns everything we see, hear, touch, smell, and sense. It is impossible for an owner to steal his own stuff.

To state the obvious, as a thief comes quietly in the night, so will the end come. When we least expect it, when we say peace and comfort, Christ will return.
You have a strange way of seeing bad things in people that are not really there. Please stop it with the uncalled for Judgments.

The word watch means to be awake and be vigilant! It means to pay attention and be active.

Nobody knows the time of Christ's return. Saying it is around the time of when you think it says kind of dispells that line of thinking.
Maybe you should study more.....Jesus told his disciples to look up when certain things and events take place and the scriptural reference from Thessalonians stands.......His coming is like lightning that cracks in the East and shines unto the west and comparable to the buzzards on the dead carcass...both are visible and the signs are clear...to say it is near is not to date it or place a time stamp on it!

I noticed 1 Thessalonians 5:4 was before here. It says,

"But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief."

So the one being overtaken or surprised by Christ's unexpected coming like a thief is the person who did not believe Jesus in being ready at any moment by:

(a) Always be watchful for his return at any moment.
(b) By being ready (meaning they live righteously for Him).

Those who are being robbed are the unfaithful believers who were not looking for Him.
Good thing you have mentioned 1 Thessalonians 5, as the "brethren, who are not in darkness" need to be sober and display three qualities:

[SUP]8 [/SUP]But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

You are confusing the Gathering of the Elect shortly before Christ's 2nd Coming and the Pre-Trib Rapture. For in the Pre-Trib Rapture, they are taken home so as to be married to Christ.

Clues Concerning the Rapture:

John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Isaiah 26:20 NLT

Go home, my people, and lock your doors! Hide yourselves for a little while until the LORD’s anger has passed.

Matthew 25:10

And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Hebrews 9:28 ESV

So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

However, in the Gathering of the Elect Near Christ's 2nd Coming, they are raptured up so as to be taken into battle. For it is written....

Luke 17:34-37

"I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left."

And they answered and said unto him,

"Where, Lord?"

And he said unto them,

"Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together."

Matthew 24:28

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Revelation 19:17-18 and Revelation 19:14
And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying

"To all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto thesupper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great."

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Jude 1:14

Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Isaiah 31:4 NLT

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies will come down

Isaiah 26:21b NLT

The earth will no longer hide those who have been killed. They will be brought out for all to see.

First, it was only 2 minutes after I posted the above post before you replied. Did you even bother to look at the verses? Second, one gathering of the saints (the Pre-Trib Rapture) is for the actual wedding (See the Parable to the 10 Virgins in Matthew 25) and the other gathering of the saints takes place after the Lord RETURNS from a wedding.

Luke 12:36
And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

First of all...two minutes is that it...second I don't need to read your non-sense...I have studied this intently for the last 26 years and the saints, saved, elect are all the same group and there is no split rapture of the saints....there is but one gathering of the saved, elect, saints......you may be able to push your blindness and lack of understanding on others pal, but not on me.....the saved are described by two words....

Saints which is indicative of who we are in Christ as HOLY ONES
Elect which is indicative of our position in Christ as chosen

Christ

was<--past tense
is<---present tense
is to come<--future tense.....There is but ONE (1) coming of Christ and OUR gathering together unto him...a split rapture is false, unbiblical and contrary to the truth.......

The dead in Christ is indicative of all of the dead in Christ and WE which are alive and remain is indicative of ALL that are alive and remain...both are gathered at the same time.......!

Christ brings the dead in Christ with HIM and Gathers the ones ALIVE unto himself....BOTH at the same time!

Dear DC:

Okay, if you are not going to at least read the verses I put forth, then there is no sense in carrying on this conversation then. For we are after all on a Bible discussion forum. If you do not want to discuss the Bible verses I brought up, then that is your choice (But please know that is why we are here on here - To preach the Word).

Anyways, may the Lord's peace and goodness be upon you.
And I do pray that you will one day see where I am coming from.

Wishing you nothing but good things to you in Christ Jesus.

Sincerely,

~ Jason.

Jason the verses you quoted do not prove and or point to a split rapture...there is not 2 comings of Christ as there is but ONE coming of Christ...all things must jive with ONE coming...it does not good to discuss verses with you as you do not nor will you listen to reason.....I gave clear proof of one coming...

was
is
is to come

and you still will say or imply that Christ will come twice with a split rapture...that is why NO one but a few who do not know the bible will agree with and follow you...........one who cannot be reasoned with out of the clear cut word of God is one who cannot be debated with! There are about 3 to 5 of you on here....you deny scriptures in context, verb tense in context, the definition of words as defined by the Greek and or Hebrew, you mix and blend scriptures which have nothing to do with each other, and numerous other such activities to come to conclusions that are far from the truth...........!

What are some of the signs that only some can see and others can miss? Please provide references from the Bible.
There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit

The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

“The fear of the Eternal is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do his commandments

“The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,

He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know
the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in
three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.Matthew 13:33

15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing,
and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes,
and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be
converted, and I should heal them.

16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not,
then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.
This is he which received seed by the way side.

20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is
he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:
because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

All the regular fussing starts on every thread. I didn't see anyone take the OP to task for this thread.
You're too busy bickering.
This title is sacrilegious. If the op was serious, he is more naive than a newbie.
If he was being funny, sacrilege is not funny.

And your first response in this thread doesn't take him to task either. So not only have you not seen others take him to task, but you haven't yourself taken him to task. What's your plan? Do you have one? If you believe his post to be bad, then address it.

Now go to my profile. Check out some of my responses in other threads. And where have you been?

I already was attacked by a bear this morning, and it was ugly. Very ugly.
The last thing I need is an attack from someone who's embedded a side shot of person into the flag.

Now knock it off!

What if I take someone to task, but then take the person back? Back from task.

Phil, are you going to take me task? I have a feeling you'll come up with something.

From what I have gleaned so far from the responses, it seems to me that if He is going to steal (take away) anything,

1. It is definitely not material.
2. When the owner of the house wakes up (opens his eyes, ears and heart), he will discover that "his house" is in ruins and many precious things are missing.

Something similar happened to the people in Israel when the Lord came to them 2000 years ago.

Why do you go looking for trouble? Does not the day provide enough for you without searching for it?

Proverbs 26:17 "He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears."
