Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Jesus isn't going to steal anything. He will simply come in the same manner as a thief will come - without warning. Therefore, we must prepare ourselves right away.

Let us reason a bit here! How can someone who comes in the clouds come as a thief quietly?! How can someone who sounds the trumpet come as a thief quietly? He will steal something. He will steal the garments. This much this verse is telling me. I am trying to figure out what these garments are that He will steal and I will end up naked. Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. NIV has it like this: “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake and remains clothed, so as not to go naked and be shamefully exposed.”

The garments we are to wear are those of righteousness attained through faith in Him. If you are not found in these garments, your shame of rejecting He Who created the heavens and the earth and gave us life will be exposed. Remember the parable of the wedding feast, where one came dressed improperly? “For many are invited, but few are chosen

Revelation 7:14

I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

I beg to differ. Primary task of the thief is to steal. Besides what sort of a thief will show up with a trumpet blast and announce his coming?! Moreover, elsewhere we read in Matthew 24

[SUP]43 [/SUP]But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. [SUP]44 [/SUP]So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

So unless one keeps watch, the house will be broken into and things will be stolen.
And the first thing a thief does is come in unannounced. You told marcR you "beg to differ" then say the same thing he said.
Your point is not very clear.

Let me clarify. No one knows the exact time. But He will announce His coming as He will be in the clouds and there will be sounds of the trumpet. So His coming IS NOT unannounced but the time is unknown. Then He will break into the house. Who is the owner of the house when He comes back?! What house are we talking about here anyway?! As we are not talking about a single house made of brick and mortar, then what is it?! He is addressing His disciples in Matthew 24 and so this is addressed to us as well. So how should I be ready? What is this house that I should be concerned about? Things will be stolen and the question is what. So many questions!

Excellent. Thank you for this reference which I had overlooked. To those who chose to believe in Him, He gave them life. What happened to those who did not believe? And how does this compare with Him coming again as a thief?
Millions will awake to find something missing
