I try very hard not to push my knitting on anyone. I dont want to become "that girl" but I had 2 requests for Christmas. A scarf for my mom and a hat for my nephew so I have been working on them as I need them completed by Thanksgiving. I finished the scarf for my mom this morning and am so excited about it. Sorry for the slightly camouflaged pic but still not comfortable posting pics on internets yet. Scarf down ..hat and ornaments to go. View attachment 137084
Ahem!
Not pushing for people who love knits

I firmly believe that while it does indeed help, you don't have to particularly participate in a specific craft to appreciate it.

I love looking at knitting, crochet, weaving, etc. because even though I come from a different creative background, I appreciate things such as different patterns and stitches and the work that one must put into their project to make them. I love seeing your creations, chick! And, you have amazing eyes.

Someday, if I do eventually take up knitting... I know who to ask!

I can't think of anyone who has pushed any of their interests onto anyone else here, so no worries. My entire hope for this thread was to connect creative minds, teach people something they didn't know before, or inspire others to work on their own hobbies or try something completely new.

CWS ponders ...what could Olerica's fav color be? would definitely want to knit her something functional for her kitchen as well....
She tends to like blue and the cooler spectrum... But enjoys wearing knits at her chilly booth!

Well okay then...nothing like larger than life pic...have no idea how to make smaller but you can see the details of scarf at least lol
Any basic picture editor can resize a pic. Irfanview is a good free one. Caesium is another. Or Fotografix. Or PhotoFiltre...

Eh, skip it. Just go here, scroll down to "Graphics and Pictures" and pick a likely program.

Portable App Directory | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives

It's a site that takes good freeware programs and makes them portable (so you can put them on a flash drive and run them from any Windows computer you happen to be on.) All the programs they have listed there are guaranteed free and good.

Pipp--congratulations!!! You look wonderful!!! Weight loss... ARGH... Always a challenge... Share your secrets with the rest of us! :) I find it to be especially impressive because you bake--one of the reasons I shy away from taking up cooking/baking as a regular hobby is because I know I'd find myself consuming entire pans of goodies in a matter of days (or hours.) Many kudos to you!!!

Mochi--LOVED THESE PICTURES!!! I LOVE decorative soaps and was especially taken by the painted (?) ones with the pictures!!! So creative and artistic!! I had a brief love affair with soapmaking a few years ago but it was very simple--just the melt and pour kind. My favorites mold was of a simple bar with raised Asian lettering (such as for "tranquility") that I would make in various clear colors mixed with a little glitter so that the bars were transparent and sparkly. I would then paint the the letter on top of the bar in a coating of glitter to make it really stand out.

Ah... If only there were more time, space, and resources... :) (I always wonder about that in heaven--I truly believe the hobbies we enjoy on earth will be available to us in heaven. So... What will it be like with UNLIMITED time, space, and resources? I often wonder, does God build or reserve entire spaces heaven for artists/crafters to display their work?)

Thank you!!! ^^
Its not painted :D I use decal paper and laser print (so the color wouldnt bleed).. similiar like tatoos.. (in mp soap you can print on "water soluble paper" so the paper will dissolve when you use the soap) I try to painted but the result is big no no.. I cant paint!! T_T

Wow!! So you tried MP soap before?? Its cool!! Good thing about mp soap is you can create a dozen cute soaps from it and melt again if you dont like it :p but i hate it at the same time because mp soap will sweat in my place.. My place really humid and if i'm not wrap it properly they will sweat.. huftttt...

I'm really addicted to this hobbiest and as the result............ now my room full with soaps and ton of mold.. sigh..
I try to get rid some of my soaps by giving away to my friends, but then i said "no, i still want to keep this one and that one and so on" LOL

Mochi, these are stunning!!

If I lived near you I would happily try to help--by accepting as many bars as you wanted to give away (I'm guessing, 2...) :D

I totally understand your dilemma--our creations become like family and we want to keep them. The funny thing with soap-making... You wind up with tons of soap... but person can only take so many showers! :)

Holy chamoly.

Soap... AND CAKE??? (What a perfect relationship.) And... 30 egg yolks???!!!

All I can say is... I'd probably turn into a medical basket case.

But with all that soap, at least I'd be clean!!!

This is such a challenge Pipp. Very few people can actually pull this off. You're amazing! It takes much discipline. Keep it up. You know, what they say. Only one diet program works, one that we stick on. :)

I like to make soap (~and baking) ^^ here is some of my soap ^^
These are amazing, Mochi. I have no talent in art. Colors confuse me. Lol. But these are really pretty. Oh my goodness, that time spent making these. What dedication!

There are no men in here that I could tell.

I am working on turning a spare room into a Man-Cave, all my electronic component's, mini fridge with beverage's (not just soda's if you know what I mean), where will my imagination take me - woofer's on the wall? ;)
