You have this so wrong, God "repented" 28 times in the Bible. (Go look it up. It's right there.) Care to explain how He was sinning?
I was talking about human repentance from sin. To add Gods repentance is to add a context I was not referring to, thus your question has no part in my response.

I am afraid it is you that has what I said so wrong. you have taken my words and misused them friend.

Not picking by the way.

I suggest the language and verb tense as the bible does not teach the loss of salvation...God chastens his SONS who walk contrary to the truth..he does not Yank their eternal salvation and or security!

it's a big assumption on your part that falling from grace means same as loosing salvation. making assumptions easily twists the truth. why didnt Paul just say "you are falling from salvation"? because everyday we choose to live by grace or by law which determines are we spiritual christians or carnal.

Hey that was an EXCELLENT response spiritlife7., keep them coming!!!!! :D

You really can't play games like that. The word "repent" means "to change your mind". And that is what Jesus asked us to do.... change our minds from the age-old way of believing WE are the ones who effect our Salvation by keeping laws perfectly (or making animal sacrifices when we failed), to instead, trusting in the words He said... that our Salvation was purchased by Him........ with no input from our own actions.

You seem to be clinging to the misunderstanding that to "repent" means to attempt to convince God, through demonstrations of sorrowful remorse, that we are worthy of Salvation.

Amen and I agree...seems there are not less than a few that attempt to go through this door....which is not the door Jesus said to use.

So how do you get that when the Bible says in John 10:28
that we can not be taken out of his hand by anyone?
Finally, a decent response!
You always need to understand who the verse is speaking about.
Who are the "we" ... every Tom, Dick, and Harry sittin' in the church pews?

27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;
neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.

Jesus is talking about those who have a reciprocal knowing relationship with Him.
Jesus is talking about those who follow Him.
Jesus says those who do His commandments are those who love Him.
Anyone goin' to heaven who doesn't love Jesus?
And on and on it goes.

1 John 2:
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, (demonstrative evidence) if we keep His commandments.
4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments
(demonstrative evidence that they don't know Him) is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Don't you understand that I am trying to warn those in churches
who do NOT keep His commandments,
but who think they are saved and going to heaven.

Yes, of course, God chastens His elect ... warning them to shape up.
If they do not, then they are NOT His elect.
His elect will tow the line.
Everyone else who does NOT just ain't part of the elect.

Yes, of course, all the many warnings are ONLY for His small group of elect ones.

Wouldest thou carest to make a wild guess as to why dere are SO MANY WARNINGS in the NT?

Thou payest absolutely no attention to what Jesus and the epistle writers have said and had written.
You make the same mistake that every legalist makes. You assume that grace means you are free to sin as much as you want. The fact is that saved by grace means that you no longer want to sin. Anyone who loves sin more than righteousness needs to get saved.

The other mistake of the legalist is to think that you can ever be good enough. You can never be good enough by your efforts. The law even says that if you are guilty in one small point you are guilty of the whole law.

There is no choice except grace. Without grace all of us would be doomed to Hell.

Do not want to derail the thread but here is a question that needs answered by the eternal security crowd:

What does the words perish, condemnation, perdition mean to you ???

I ask this because I know of 3 scriptures these words of warning were said to believers !!!

I have already had this hash out with you and given you multiple scriptures in the past that you have not accepted, so I am not going to rehash it again with you hince why I asked the question.

The question is to open the door to go research why these were said to believers, but I will help you out as the three main ones I am talking about now are in: 1 Corinthians, Hebrews, and James

Also the question is what do those words mean to you, do they mean eternal life or spiritual death ???

Ken, Give the verse and we can go over the exact verse in question. Then neither you nor I Or any readers have any questions. We can over the original language and be exact and on the same page.

It is not my responsibility to make you believe anything I tell you, as it comes down to you, Word of God, prayer, and being revealed the truth by the Holy Spirit.

Which is why I give you the heads up on where to read, so that you can take and read it for yourself and let God show it to you.

I will help out a little more as I will give the chapters, take it as a bible study to take in and meditate on:

1 Corinthians 8, Hebrews 10, and James 5

Try again....some are cut loose for the destruction of the flesh yet the spirit is stilled SAVED IN THE DAY OF CHRIST....there are no scriptures in context that teach the loss of salvation....none...yet there are many in context that uses verb tense that sets forth a present continuing result from a past completed action!
