Let me tell you a little story.....
when I was in high school, a 16 year old black kid died of a heart attack on the football field.so one morning were sitting around in the cafeteria discussing it when I hear someone say....."oh well, its just another dead,, (racial slur ommitted)"....now fast forward about 25 years. this monster is a judge now. so draw your own conclusions from that.... this is what it's like in the south.

I personally do not care if they remove or relocate the various statues they are in a fuss over. What I do care about is that they use the exact same standard to remove or relocate OTHER statues/signs ........ whatever that are ALSO offensive to some. Oh, I don't know, say all the statues/signs/shops dedicated to Voodoo worship? I kinda find them offensive, BUT the majority of the citizens of New Orleans are black, and they are those who are involved in Voodoo worship......sooooo

Just to be Historically correct...........WHEN blacks were FIRST brought to America and sold into slavery, what FLAG was flying over our various Government locations? Anyone? .............. Anyone?[/QU

I was a white in a 90%black high school.
No white dared go to the cafeteria for lunch. They would surround you,take your money and there was nothing you could do about it.

I got jumped,beat,put in the hospital,and my car stolen across the street from the school by 4 blacks.

Speak for yourself. I go to church with black brothers and sisters. We worship together,fellowship together,go out together. We had a beautiful black lady who worked at our grocery store.One day I went in with my sister who was having serious issues in her marriage.She had been crying and that lady told her everything was going to be ok and had prayer with her right there at her cash register. The south is not full of evil white people hating blacks.I resent that. There are haters all over the country. If anything has encouraged racism its this blinkin president we have.He's done more to divide the country than just about anyone before him.

But it is funny how no one wants to talk about how black on black violence is the worst violence.How no one will report on Chicago. Or how abortion is literally wiping out the black race. No one wants to talk about that.

I do not like to say stuff like this, because of what Christ said about not doing good deeds for people to see, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, etc. but here is some truth about me. dude653, I write checks every month to Christian-based charities , most of it goes to help struggling or addicted black people. I also enjoy going to and watching football and basketball in my college town( UGA) most of which is played buy black players. so, maybe save your racist insults for someone WHO DOES NOT LIKE another ethnicity, not someone who helps them.

I don't know. I mean if we're arguing by way of personal anecdote, I can say that I've seen more racism growing up in Yankeeland than I have in my Southern-bound adulthood.

Now don't provoke him, he has some decent points, but this all a whole other topic. We can talk about Sharpton and Jackson in another topic too. Though does give me some ideas. It's good they're getting rid of the dixie cult stuff, but Sir P_Rehbein's early comment #6 is poignant indeed, they ought be getting them other false religions in New Orleans too.

Voodoo and that crap is a big problem in the black community in Louisiana, particularly New Orleans from my understanding. Perhaps Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton could actually be useful to us in getting rid of some of these pagan problems, cults, and gangs that victimize the black and southern communities alike.

Since this thread is pretty much awash with Civil War comments............I heard one today I did not know before.

It seems that during the Civil War, the Southern troops believed Christmas was an important Holiday to be celebrated, but the Northern troops believed it should not be celebrated.........they believed it was a "sinful European" holiday.

It wasn't until 1870 when Grant was President that Christmas was declared a National Holiday.
