There are all kinds of immature Christians saying all kinds of stuff. They get a glimpse of a truth then run off with it without seeing all the other scripture that goes with it.

I noticed in this scripture that Jesus said nothing to the demonic spirit that was causing the woman to be bent over....

He said.."Should not this woman be loosed.."seeing" she is a daughter of Abraham "...Jesus must have been teaching on the Abrahamic covenant at the synagogue ...and He seemed to like to "agitate the religious spirit" by doing the healing on the Sabbath.....

.He also said " Woman you are freed from your sickness"...then He laid His hands on her to transfer the power out of Him to her..then she straightened up.

I understand what Ladybug said. Over the years, many Christians have told me that I'm demon possessed because I have Epilepsy along with depression. They have told me to stop taking taking medication and pray for God to cast out my demons.

He has a whole thread dealing with this particular "unbelief" in the scripture mentioned, which is why he said that......he does not think you have a demon...and probably doesn't want a punch in the nose either..lol

Ahh okay, I figured you meant that. You're lucky, if you had said demons, I was gonna punch you in the nose..lol jk  :p

Jesus didn't need to say anything to the demonic spirit. His goodness alone flowing from him to the woman, was enough to evict the demon. :) Evil cannot stand in the presence of perfection. It MUST flee when confronted by goodness, or in Jesus' case, absolute perfection.. Demons are wimpy when confronted by good..lol

Hey folks... How is everybody..... I was wonderin if I could put in my wooden nickle worth of sense..... This is a very interesting subject and I was wonderin if I could come in from a different direction although I think it's already been touched on...... So..... Faith and faith in healing...... This is my view.........
Today's society, especially the " gentiles".....are today's "Israel" walkin in the desert for 40 years....even if they saw the signs and wonders how long would it last for some of them?. Truly....there are some whose faith is everything to them...God needs them to reach those who "will not stay" and those "yet to come"....he tried so many different ways to reach his people....they same today.....he knows how certain people can be reached and what it takes.... Apostle Paul "the thorn in his side" yet he preached and proclaimed the word in his faith....i don't think he was the only one that knew about the "thorn in his side"..im sure there were countless others yet they say it did not move his faith... Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the LORD and when he touched the socket of his hip he became lame and needed a crutch to help him....but because of his hip, an entire race will not eat the part of the hip where that tendon was......those of us with physical afflictions are beautiful.. Glorious children of God that were given the type of faith to reach only those that we can reach... Because of our "afflictions" we are in places that are desperate for God's word where people without those afflictions would not go..... God is a wonderful Father.....His reasoning and plans are far beyond anything we could ever imagine.....i do not think we do not have "enough faith" to be healed..... I think some of us have a very special calling.....

Remember, that is the distinction this thread is bringing up. That He can is good to know, but more importantly will you stand in faith that He will, or even has through Christ? :)
I understand what you are trying to say Ben . . . When I was diagnosed with breast cancer - I totally fell apart! It was almost like receiving a death sentence. I had experienced the cancer "situation" in both my mom and my aunt - they both succumbed to the disease. So my experience with it was - death. I knew God healed, I believed God healed BUT would he heal ME and also my mind was in such a state that I knew doubt and fear would negate my belief/faith. I turned to the medical field and did what they presented to me - I was calm and I knew that God would heal me in this manner. It turned out that my "tumor" was the size of the tip of my thumb (although aggressive) and was easily removed together with my lymph nodes on that side - I praised God in that alone! and I continue to thank him for my health -

I do not think that had I relied on my faith alone at the time that I would have been healed - because God couldn't? - NO! but because of my doubt and fear . . . .

I don't know why some are healed and some aren't - I think there are some things in which we will never know the answer to until our day of redemption . . . .

I have read her book and listened to her more then a few times in the past and I love her heart. God does wonderful things with people in all situations in life. He is always getting caught in the act of being Himself in every circumstance in life.

But I have to disagree when we let our experiences dictate what we believe over the clear word of God. Why it all doesn't manifest is a question for the Lord. If I was attacked by a severe disease I would continue to say what God says about me and what Jesus did for me even to the day I died. If I wasn't healed...this would not make the truth of what Jesus has done not true.

Love your fierceness in protecting the hurting ones...it's godly! Bless you!
I trust Joni's take on it because I know she and Steve took six months to study the Bible about why stuff like this happens even to God's kids. Those six months were right after the accident.

I took three years for my temper tantrum with God after my accident. lol

Noooooooooo! Really?

I can't get anyone right! Next thing someone is going to do is tell me crossnote likes to argue End Times stuff, but we all know that's not true, right?

Some folks may think that this equals Replacement Theology. I don't believe that's what you meant.

I do agree that we have times of greater faith than at other times. And yet we know that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. So, obviously, we are the ones that change. Or our level of faith does.

Why do we change this way? I believe that we fail to take the time to sit down and consider all the many blessings (count them, one by one!) that God has already done for us in the past. If He did that for us then, then why would He not do so now?

Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the LORD and when he touched the socket of his hip he became lame and needed a crutch to help him....but because of his hip, an entire race will not eat the part of the hip where that tendon was...
I'm just thankful that he was not touched in the ribs! :p

May God be praised for your healing by whatever method(s) He use to perform it.

I agree. And, at that point, will we even care???

Amen!

I have found this scripture to be a blessing to me on many issues...and to allow others to have the same thing...it's all about love for each other....

Romans 14:22 (NASB)
[SUP]22 [/SUP] The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

LOL..

I have found on these forums to not to take people's posts about others to be true until I actually see that it is true.....there are so many "twists" and "spins" put on people's words...so it's always best to get it from the horse's mouth before believing some people....

Noooooooooo! Really?

You know what? Many many times I have literally BEGGED and pleaded with God to heal me. I have cried out loud, "in the name of Jesus Christ, heal me". Guess what? I'm still not healed and despite what some believe, God does NOT instantly heal people. If he did, I would've been healed at age 5 of my epilepsy. I would've been healed at age 40, when my back really started to incapacitate me. But nooo.. I still have epilepsy and I still have a bad back, bad bones all around. :/ Being healed has NOTHING to do with how much faith or belief a person has. That's a total crock, so don't try to convince me it's true..

Like Lynn said, if I were meant to be healed, I would have been a long time ago. Only God knows the reason why he doesn't heal ALL people. So what am I supposed to do? Throw a tantrum and demand God to heal me? Been there, done that, didn't work. :/ Sooo, I do the only thing I CAN do: persevere through all the pain, and look forward to my eternal pain-free body. :) I would give ANYTHING to go just one day without any back twinges, creaks, cracks, moans and groans of stupid bad bones.. To go just one day without ANY seizures. One day soon I will, but until then I have to live in this wretched body because that is what God wants me to do.
I love you ladybug

I hope your miracle comes soon!

Somehow,someway

In Jesus name

I got what you meant about them seeing miracles and then shortly thereafter showing an utter lack of faith. Going so far as to construct the golden calf. And as much as I want to 'go off' on them, I am guilty of the same from time to time.

In short, Replacement Theology is the belief that all the promises to Israel, because of their failures (unbelief), are now meant for the Church instead. When I saw gentiles/Israel I got concerned. But I may have not at all needed to say anything on second thought? Maybe it was only I that saw the potential for misunderstanding there? Well, avoided, even if not needed.

Never met a man in my life from Texas [assuming] who didn't like ribs!

Blessing, bro.
