Getting back to the OP and away from this so NOT delightful diversion created my Sinnerman, I have been a Sci Fi fan my whole life. I could in fact say it is just about the only genre I enjoy in books, TV shows and movies. I remember watching Star Trek OS in the basement as a 11 year old child, and just loving it! I read the Time Machine about the same time, and it scared the wits out of me. But I kept reading! And watching!

But despite a very fertile imagination, I nevertheless could not come to believe these fantasy worlds were true, or that there could be aliens out there. Even as a non-Christian, it seemed impossible and absurd that there could be beings living on other worlds, and that they would be visiting us.

After I was saved my husband made me give up Sci Fi. He said it was evil, but mostly it was just because he didn't like that genre. After I figured out his legalism and personal preferences, I got a library card, and went back to reading Sci Fi. When my oldest son became interested in Sci Fi, I started watching Star Trek NG, which we would watch together. He became an electrical engineer, but like me, doesn't believed they are alien species out there!

Oh yes, shouldn't this be in the conspiracy forum? The entire topic is just pure speculation.

PS So many theological issues arise from this topic - did God create these beings? Evolution is a foundational principle in Sci Fi, I don't remember one book/series/movie where it wasn't assumed that aliens evolved just like us! Someone already mentioned the issues of Incarnation. Many postulate Jesus having to go and die for these sinners. So much simpler and biblical to just not believe in aliens.

Aliens?

It would take us 6 months to go to Mars. To get outside our solar system years. To go to the nearest star, thousands of years. And that place outside our atmosphere 6 miles high is so hostile we know of no life that could survive there.

The only reason to suspect biological life is out there is evolution, but still there is no real theory how life started from 500,000 dna base pairs ex-nihilo.

Now in this vast universe, why is it here? God created it for a purpose, but has not revealed it to us. Maybe because He wanted to provide an excuse for some to wonder at what He could do, and then suggest we do not need God to make it all. I would suggest the more we learn the more it just points back to the creator.

I see no reason why aliens would exist or how they would get here or even why they would try. Sci-fi likes aliens but then it also likes beaming people around the place, which is the problem of destroying and creating matter at an atomic level which is absurd. It is like another version of the myths of the gods of Atlantis.

I should mention that the latest x files season 10 6 episode series hints at zero gravity and invisi- cloaking tech...so im sure they have it as they have to show you before they do anything that is their MO.
People carrying on a conversation about the illuminati, X Files, zero gravity, invisible cloaking devices as though these things are real. It is nothing less than psychosis, the very opposite of what is real, the loss of contact with external reality. A severe mental disorder.

I suppose you also have bizarre theories about 9/11 and the JFK assassination. Nothing that holds up to the least bit of scrutiny. There are other nuts here that will tell you a missile hit the pentagon, despite hundreds of people who stood and watched the plane fly in and strike the building in daylight, leaving all sorts of physical evidence, including parts of the plane. I'm sure you have some theory about cloaking devices you gathered from some whacko posting youtube videos. You may even believe the X-Files is not just a science fiction television show, but some sort of portal into the future. You and ramx really believe the junk you say to each other. Any mental health professional would tell you to get help. Finding other disturbed people to share views about invisible cloaking devices will take you further and deeper into psychosis. I understand that hurts your feelings. So be it. It's sad that those who care about you are too timid to tell you the truth, that you need help, and possibly medication.

Just FYI - this was in the "NEWS" hence the NEWS link... :)

You what fascinates me is the fact that some Christians think we have to live in this protective little box completely ignoring the world around us. IN MY OPINION - this is not true. Are we to avoid evil ? yes... but discussing technology and science and YES the imaginary world of science fiction (notice the FICTION). Running around with blinders on is a HUGE problem for the Christian faith.

AGAIN - just my personal opinion.

Tell me exactly where you read the stealth uses an anti gravity drive?

How about a link to one of the stories on cloaking technology?

Tell me more about the particle propulsion tech you claimed to have seen?

Who is the "they" that control the weather? How do they control the weather?

Prove the existence of worm holes that you claim exist.

See what I'm talking about. You are delusional. You are just like the other nuts, you post almost non-stop about things you make up. You'd rather not spend that time working on a marriage where you decided to challenge your husband and probably not tell him what you have been doing. It's a common thread amongst those who share your views. Troubled people trying to escape their unhappy lives on the internet, hoping to find solace among others equally disturbed. When confronted with your own made up assertions, as above, you will deflect and say something like you don't need to provide facts or proof to someone who obviously doesn't understand the truth. I keep repeating myself, but it's a psychosis. You are no longer living in reality. One month in and you have proven that. Go back to your husband and try to get psychiatric help.

LOL.... like I said... Him has issues... it's fine.. I like it... :)
Yeah... I was sitting here reading his posts thinking, "Ok, this guy keeps talking about delusions and psychosis and needing mental help... So which one is he under and what exactly does he have that's making him repeatedly infer that the OP is a woman???!!!"

And back in the bronze age when they were pooping in a hole in the ground and navigating by the moon and stars so.....so was an iPhone with navigation built in. I wonder if my grandma pondered the universe when she was sleeping in a lean too with a dirt floor when she was a child. I have a friend who's son works at one of the facilities that develop tech for the armed forces. Years ago he told me that the stuff they are developing would blow your mind. And for what it's worth. Many of the things you discount are in development....such as cloking devices. I've seen documentaries about them. You should crack open the door of your mind just a little bit. You don't have to go full blown back to the future but there is room to be open a little and not disparage people.

What made you not?
I think he was insinuating emasculation. Which he was probably joking. Most men joke about that kind of thing. Especially about each other and sometimes about themselves.
