Oh I totally think so. This thread needs some laughs. Its getting way too nasty in here.
Actually the thread seemed dead a few days ago, so nosy me just had to come back to see why it kept going. People just needed to get their say in. Who'da guessed? And on CC too!

Popular culture isn't the bible. Neither are books or movies. Jesus' knew of her adultery, thus he let her know he knew. That's why he acknowledged her sin, and said to go and not sin anymore. So yes, Jesus classified her as an adulterer by acknowleging her sin. I'm not trying to certify anyone. Not sure what you even mean by that. Nor am I forcing you to accept someone else's opinion. :) And Kayla DID quote scripture. She even posted it.. Just because the woman isn't always referred to as the woman caught in adultery, doesn't mean she wasn't committing that sin. EVERYONE knew she was committing adultery. It wasn't any big secret. So don't rely on popular culture or books. Try the BIBLE instead.
So no books and movies? :( Being a bit legalistic are you?

Anyway, you still didn’t answer my question.

You said this was Jesus’ own words. Your statement In Jesus' own words, he classified this woman as an adulterer when he acknowledged her sin of adultery, then pardoned it by forgiving it and saying "go and sin no more"

So where is the Scripture quoting His Words and backing this up when asked?
Where are the verses?

I get scared when people try to teach me things because the Bible warns us a lot about false teachers and prophets

Did you know there was a death penalty even for that? [I hope you discuss Scripture with outstanding CC member kaylagirl ]

Deuteronomy 18:20

But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’

Helpful Hint: Stop being a nitpicking donkey!

Wow, Name calling on a Christian website? :( :(

Being termed as an animal rather than a human being, it surely borders on racism and hatred :(!

Let’s see what the Bible says about this –

Matthew 5:21-22

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

Matthew 15:11
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”

Calling someone a “nitpicking donkey” surely falls under the umbrella of loose, crass, cheap and vulgar talk.

I concede though that perhaps your level of education must be depleted too that you must think it’s ok to call people names or the strata of society you come from has such norms. :( I am sorry if I don't see things the same way you do.

I would like to inform you that it is offensive.

Even if you are not Christian, do have a look at the Christian Chat Site Rules (there's a link at the top of the forums)

It is the very first one

1. Nothing anti-Christian, or inappropriate for a Christian chat room or forum.
Please do not try to register any blasphemous or offensive nicknames. Also please do not engage in any blasphemous, profane, or improper talk, or any talk that is offensive to our Christian community.
Also, please don't post any inappropriate links in your chat profile or in the forums, or in the chat rooms (e.g., links to anti-Christian sites, sites with inappropriate content, sites promoting other religions, cults, or doctrines contrary to the Bible).
Also, photos in chat profiles should be with appropriate clothing and not provocative.

Hope your communication skills improve henceforth!

Have a good day. ^_^

Quote "From popular culture, sermons, books, she is usually referred to as the woman at the well. I was pointing out the misunderstanding that arose because kaylagirl did not quote Scripture verses. Also, I would also ask you to do the same."

There are no rules stating Scripture must be used in posts. This is a simple discussion forum,we follow posted rules.

I am sorry but I am a really serious Christian and it's not a laughing matter to me when people are careless with the Bible and Scripture verses.

I do think it's nasty when people indulge in name calling though!

Also, I do support following the rules, as you can see, some of which I posted above :)

It is just important to me to know where people are coming from when they reference the Bible so I don’t misunderstand them and vice versa.

After all, this is “christianchat.com” not “kaylasopinion.com

No, you're merely yet another "only I know the truth" user on this site. If you got to name the site, you'd call it Rachel20.com.

First of all, I'm not a prophet of any type. Second, maybe you don't understand the word "classify". By acknowledging her sin, Jesus identified her as an adulterer. Classified and identified mean the same thing.

Also, how is Depleted calling you a nit-picking donkey any different than you changing her user name to "a christian homo sapien" in your siggy quote? THAT'S being slanderous AND dishonest, and to use your own definition, crass and vulgar. :/ I realize that we're in two different countries, but crass is crass in ANY language.

Also, everyone I am not going to be responding anymore to this thread - I have way more things to do (praise God!).

Hope the moderators can take care of the situation if some individuals continue to indulge in name calling and other improper talk.

On a side note, I really liked one of the posters who posted this verse,

Matthew 7:3

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"

I got to add this verse -

1 John 4:20

If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

Peace out ^_^

Oh FYI

Homo sapiens (Latin: "wise person") is the binomial nomenclature (also known as the scientific name) for the only extant human species. Homois the human genus, which also includes Neanderthals and many other extinct species of hominid; H. sapiens is the only surviving species of the genus Homo.

If she is not a homo sapien, what else is she? :D I am not going to call her a donkey :) (even if her talk is asinine! ;) )

Well she's certainly not a Neanderthal, which btw, is a term usually used in a derogatory way, sometimes referring to an animal. So in essence, you DID call her an animal. I also noticed you bolded the word "homo" as in homosexual. So some people may misunderstand your siggy quote.

Ok, so according to YOU, she's not a homo sapien, she's not a neanderthal, she's not even a donkey! Well, what is that!~

Wow blue_ladybug. I am sorry but I have to leave this thread right now. Hope you figure this one out on your own.

Peace :)

Rachel20 (and everyone), May I suggest that when someone does not perfectly understand what you are trying to communicate that you refrain from comments such as 'maybe you should read your Bible more'?

Keep the disparaging remarks to yourselves, people! Several people are guilty and they add no value to the conversation.

LOL. You got your definition of homo sapiens from Wikipedia. NOT a reliable source, btw. Homo sapiens are most closely related to chimpanzees and apes. The term deals with evolution of the human race. We did NOT evolve from apes. :/ And to me, Lynn does NOT look like an ape..lol
