No saying 'ta-da' on this thread!
(Unless you put your hand on your hip
and throw your head back. ;) )
Sorry.... I LOL'd at that.... mental images....for some reason, Richard Simmons comes to mind.

My youngest granddaughter has been showing off her somersault skills (she calls it a cartwheel, but I don't correct her) and when she finishes, she hollers "Ta-Dah" !

I am sorry but I am a really serious Christian and it's not a laughing matter to me when people are careless with the Bible and Scripture verses.

I do think it's nasty when people indulge in name calling though!

Also, I do support following the rules, as you can see, some of which I posted above :)

It is just important to me to know where people are coming from when they reference the Bible so I don’t misunderstand them and vice versa.

After all, this is “christianchat.com” not “kaylasopinion.com

Quote "I am sorry but I am a really serious Christian and it's not a laughing matter to me when people are careless with the Bible and Scripture verses."

I was saying the thread was getting nasty, people needed some laughter. It had nothing to do with Bible verses. It had to do with the mood. You're a serious Christian? Compared to who? The regulars here, all of us are very serious about being Christians. You're not a special breed of Christian, the ground at the foot of the cross is level.

Well theres one thing we can agree on...

Quote "Also, I do support following the rules, as you can see, some of which I posted above "

Good for you. But there is nothing in the rules about posting Scripture verses.

Quote "It is just important to me to know where people are coming from when they reference the Bible so I don’t misunderstand them and vice versa."

Well some will post verses, some will not. If I have the time I do,sometimes I don't have the time. If you need clarification, ask the person.

Quote "After all, this is “christianchat.com” not “kaylasopinion.com”

Nor is it doitrachel20sway.com because she misunderstands and jumps a person instead of asking for clarification like an adult would. Your avatar is beginning to tell us a lot about your attitude. Childish.

Take your break, Lynn.

Yall ladies need to take a break and calm down a bit.

No, Rachel20 needs to be banned and she's well on her way. There is nothing I said to her to have her carry on and be disrespectful as she is being. She's gunning for me for no reason. She misunderstood and instead of acting like an adult and asking for a clarification she has taken to trying to knock me down and anyone who picks up for me. Nowhere in the rules does it say you need to post Scripture verses.

Rachel20 (and everyone), May I suggest that when someone does not perfectly understand what you are trying to communicate that you refrain from comments such as 'maybe you should read your Bible more'?

Keep the disparaging remarks to yourselves, people! Several people are guilty and they add no value to the conversation.

Thank you for saying that. I cant delete my last post but thank you for understanding the situation.

I have been reading some of the posts, and it is obvious everyone needs to calm down and realize that communication is a difficult thing to master. Shake it off, people:)

Thank you, sister! I'm glad things are cooling off now!

The rudeness and condescending tone need to disappear from all of our future communications with each other.

As soon as we notice peculiar behavior--as soon as some comment rubs us the wrong way--we should stop. We should step back until the initial hurt goes away enough for us to focus--to look at the situation for what it really is and what it's worth.

I'm far from perfect, and I think I'm learning more each day--of how to better communicate with others online in these forums. One word we really need to bear in mind when adding our opinions:

Nothing but love for you all on my end.

Sincerely,

-A work in progress

Justin,
I see you like acronyms, just like me. I deal a lot with pornography addictions, and this is one of my favorite. (from my favorite book)

When temptation comes, remember the acronym: WATNOW! (as in, “What now!”)

When temptation comes your way, stop for a moment. Aim your heart to Father God and begin to praise Him for trusting you with such a temptation. Thank Him for believing in you. Notice that God is proving you to you by allowing this type of temptation into your life. Observe that you have been made a partaker of the divine nature; therefore, nothing in you desires to follow that temptation. Winning is why God allowed it in the first place!

I'm just curious, but how is it possible to get addicted to looking at other folks....doing stuff....????? It is gross...

We are having an influx of people that are only here to stir the pot. Like a fox in a hen house, they stir everyone up and then walk away when people call them on their attitude. I have discussions on here with people that I totally disagree with but I still respect. We dont tear each other down,we simply disagree, throw some verses out there and move on. I think Bushido8000 is a little off his beam :p and he thinks Im a patriot nutcase, but we can respect each other. We agree sometimes. But we're not gunning for each other. Who knows,he might be right in the end! But disrespect, to me,is immature and childish.

Love it!

(I wish this were automatic, rather than something I had to struggle with...)

Thanks Willie-T :)

I catch your drift, Kayla.

Perhaps we should put ourselves in the shoes of the fox for a moment and consider how intimidating the gang of chickens may appear at first glance.

How does one get addicted to anything? It satisfies (fulfills) a need of some kind.

So basically, what you are saying, is that addictions shares some common ground?

It CAN be. The book is only $10 on kindle (though I do recommend a hard copy). AND it is not just for pornography addiction; part of the title is "Training in Righteousness and Purity." (I think I wrote that correctly.) The author's wife actually feels it is a great book for women to read.
