Those scruffy ministers have no respect for God, their ministry or the people they are ministering to.
Because homeless people living on the street have so much respect and admiration for a man in a suit :p

You should hear yourself. LOL., If you think that Gods grace is not conditional then you haven't read the bible. If it's unconditional then we have nothing to be concerned about, rob banks, rape women, kill children and have a hay day. Upon repentance it can be forgiven, but for God to accept this behavior is not biblical.
This is sad post to me on many levels. My adherence to doing good and loving people, is directly related to my love and immense gratitude for who Jesus is, and what He has done for me. When I thought as this man my sin INCREASED greatly. Now that I embrace HIS Grace and HIS Finished work, All I desire is to love Him and the brethren and spread His Gospel. Why would I WANT to do the things you list. I'd urge you to meditate on this verse.

Romans 3:8
8 And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just.

Peace,love and joy to all.

PennEd;2713843 My adherence to doing good and loving people said:
I agree with you to a point. What I have discovered is knowing Jesus releases love, it opens us up,
it enables us to do things we could never do before.

So in some ways I am not a fixed object choosing to do good and loving people, I have become
someone who desires to do good and to love people.

And my salvation is dependent not on my behaviour but on my relationship with Christ.
Without Christ I am lost, but with Him everything is mine. But I need to change, because
the very things that hold me back are the things that I have as a sinner not let the Lord in
to heal and cleanse me of.

I think our difficulty is often we want to think of ourselves as static and in someways
we are objective when we are actually very fluid and God if we work and follow Him does
remake and rebuild us. That has been my experience.

It might be because he has to fight those desires within himself all the time that he just naturally figures everyone else wants to do those things too.

hard to say

I joke around, no secret, but nonsense is nonsense

Sin does have dominion over the false grace teachers.
are there false grace teachers here?

if not, maybe you folks should stop playing heresy hunter

then again, show us those false grace teachers that you think are here

and then we can really have a discussion

Gods grace changes the believer, enables man to live upright godly Lives. it does not in any way negate our responsibility to live in obedience to God. how we live determines our eternal destination. Grace came by the suffering and death of Jesus. forgave all our sins and gave us for free a brand new spirit, clean and born of God. the purpose of this is to learn and grow in the nature of Jesus, by following and applying His teachings to life. grace doesn't take away the importance of how we live, it gives us grace to live right. to be a slave to righteousness as we once were slaves to sin. but paul even says clearly again andagain.

you are a servant of who you obey whether it is sin which leads to death, or righteousness wich leads to eternal life. grace doesn't take our responsibility away, it enables us to live up to it. grace is awesome. it is mistaught by the modern grace doctrine. not what paul taught jesus taught james taught john taught...they all taught obedience to the gospel because of the grace which was poured upon us and made us new and clean. simply this doctrine of grace grace, is false. grace is true, the false teaching of grace is not. grace doesn't mean you say jesus is lord and now you can never sin enough, never do enough wrong to end up in hell. that's ridiculous according to scripture.

jesus himself, paul, john, peter, james all make very clear how you live, what you say, what you think all of these things have a place in determining eternal life of the other destination. grace. doesn't change God or His standards or his holiness. it takes our sin away and teaches us to live right before God.

titus 2:11-12 "For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age."

that's Grace. its not a free pass, its repentance, overcoming worldly passions and a teaching to live upright and godly lives. that's what Gods grace is this is pauls writing here. grace is not what is taught by this false doctrine. it is our forgiveness, our teaching, our strengthening, our new life, our freedom from sin and so much more. to stand in grace is to press on toward the goal of the nature of Christ, the nature taught in His teachings. grace doesn't change the word, it changes the man

you only have it half right

the part where Jesus supplied the grace, is correct

the rest, is self effort

repent does not mean to stop sinning...scripture records where God repented...so, did He stop sinning?

I follow scripture which includes agreeing with God about my condition as a human being without Christ

that means, I accept Christ, believe He did all that was ever required to fulfill the law, and now I am being sanctified

one is instant, the other is ongoing

I say no to ungodliness and worldly passions every day. every single day.

does not make me better than an axe murderer...only confirms the new life of Christ within me

Now if these are their core values and beliefs in Christ then those that slander them are completely wrong
The problem with overview doctrinal statements is they are just that. It can mean though they assent to the same overall ideas, what they mean by them is different.

On cc it can be shown every doctrine or concept is changed, with a different interpretation
than the traditional view.

One commentator said being a traditional Christian was trampling on the gospel.

So it cannot be slander to have problems with this whole theology and just say because their
doctrinal statement looks alright, what they teach is sound.

God bless you all as you earnestly seek to walk in Gods righteousness and purity.

Yes, and God knows those who's heart is right, their dress will be right, (Smart ).

A person cannot have the love of God in them and dressential scruffy.
Love has respect.

enter the naked prophet..remember him?

see, this is what happens when people mix their opinions and what is and what is not acceptable to God in with the truth

1In the year that the supreme commander, sent by Sargon king of Assyria, came to Ashdod and attacked and captured it— 2at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz. He said to him, “Take off the sackcloth from your body and the sandals from your feet.” And he did so, going around stripped and barefoot.3Then the Lord said, “Just as my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot for three years, as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush,[SUP]a[/SUP] 4so the king of Assyria will lead away stripped and barefoot the Egyptian captives and Cushite exiles, young and old, with buttocks bared—to Egypt’s shame. 5Those who trusted in Cush and boasted in Egypt will be dismayed and put to shame. 6In that day the people who live on this coast will say, ‘See what has happened to those we relied on, those we fled to for help and deliverance from the king of Assyria! How then can we escape?’ ” Isaiah 20

I tell you what; God has some funny ideas, right? must be that He does not have our mind which is why He tells us that His thoughts are much higher than our thoughts

what would you think if you saw a naked man walking down the street and he told you God told him to do that?

I know what most of us would think and maybe Isaiah got the same kind of feedback

We have had a discussion on repentance, and God repented in the sense of felt sorrow for doing
an action.

And when Jesus forgives sins he expects people to stop sinning.
The apostles expected to stop sinning. To say sin should be just accepted is simply not scriptural.

What is scriptural is seeking repentance, confession and mercy. It is very much the contrite heart,
the desire to learn Gods way of walking and hatred of wickedness is the sign of the people of God.

Jesus warned us if we have lost this saltiness He will through us out.

Grace is from God, we can fall from grace, (but is not God doing an on and off switch which I think you seem to be saying, but maybe I am misinterpreting) so that we are no longer in its enabling power to overcome sin, like the sheep that gets lost.
He does beckon, but He also says he will never leave or forsake us so that trumps the whole free will debate. If we are His we cannot unchoose Him.

The grace or hyper grace message was derived from Christians that truly love God, but found themselves committing sins and could not stop, so they found scriptures in their favor and ultimately said if, I sin it's okay because I been forgiven and born again.
You have no evidence to support this, so there is nothing more I can say about it.

Read this carefully
This one statement by Paul shows that grace is far more than unmerited favor.
Romans 3:8
And not rather, (as some reported slanderously (blasphemeo) reported, and as some affirm that we say) Let us do evil that good may come? Whose damnation is just.

Actually grace is freedom, freedom from sin not freedom TO sin.

Without grace you can never free yourself from sin and this is the part that is not being understood.

If you see grace as a onetime event than you will never understand its enabling ability to resist sin.

If a believer falls into sin rather than judging and accusing they have abused grace it would be more scriptural to say they have fallen from grace and have become entrapped in sin and they should be restored yes to the faith (the belief) that all sins are forgiven and Jesus’s one time sacrifice has redeemed them from the power of sin and they are not under condemnation.

By faith and belief we avail to ourselves to His grace daily. You redefine and limit grace and then say it is something we abuse, which in essence cannot even be done it is like saying receiving divine love makes me want to go and do evil. Nonsensical!!

And secondly this fallacy that it means we can sin, is basically saying that the opposite would be that grace is not enough and therefore we still need the law.
This denies the work of the cross and you are also saying we preach doing evil so that good may come.
Read again what Paul says about those that do that!!

It is a slippery slope away from the faith if you deny the ability of grace to preserve those whom He has adopted.

It is an on off switch. If your faith is based on the work of the cross then it's on, if your faith gets switched to what you do then it's off. Doesn't mean that He leaves you, He will beckon you to return, but, He will not override your will.

The grace or hyper grace message was derived from Christians that truly love God, but found themselves committing sins and could not stop, so they found scriptures in their favor and ultimately said if, I sin it's okay because I been forgiven and born again. Which is a valid dilemma. However, that is not the case. Self righteousness is a slippery, deceitful snake and anytime we look at what we do as a form of righteousness the Holy Spirit backs off as He only works in the parameters of the cross. Meaning if our faith gets shifted from what Christ did on the cross then we are no longer protected (no grace) and we can be bound once again by sin. Grace is unmerited favor and not freedom, meaning it is favor that we do not deserve nor can be gained, only by faith in the work of the Cross and nothing else.

When we find our self failing it is mainly because our faith has shifted and it's an easy thing to do and rather than provide the remedy we say well we have grace.

all I gotta say is maybe I should watch Joseph Prince more cause he must be doing something right for people here to keep wanting to discuss how wrong he is

yes, that makes perfect sense to some of us
==============
plus, as our world grows poorer and poorer more violent and cruel, and so many brothers and sisters
deeper and deeper in debt - homeless, yet, (if you don't 'give' your last dime to the cause of their Christ,
then, ???
he is prospering beyond belief....

please, Joseph, show us your 'power of healing' (on TV) especially those who need it the most!!!

I think maybe we should just copy and paste from the other threads about JP or Grace. This would save us a lot of time and we could get on to better topics :)

Good idea, I am glad someone around here is thinking efficiently! Although to me grace is one of the best topics, but I could still copy and paste. ;)

Not gonna change my mind about it.....grace that is.

just a quick observation. where does this guy come up with stuff like this healing through communion ?? according to jp, were healed physically through communion and receiving that healing by grace......umm.....yeah this right here is such an indicator of how a person can get popular and then make up something and teach it to his followers and they buy it....

there are no scriptures that say this, or even indicate it. according to Gods word those gifted with great faith are to lay hands on the sick person for healing. I really cant understand how folks who know anything about the bible buy into this dude. if I'm wrong here lol please do explain how taking communion and claiming I'm healed, heals anyone according to scripture??? would hate to think I missed these scriptures, but pretty confident there are none which even indicate or suggest this. I guess it falls in line with all by grace and laying hands on another is works of the flesh or something. the doctrine of this guy and many springing up like him..........be careful and always study for you instead of just believing another person. communion is a wonderful spiritual principle that we all should participate in worthily.......but I'm gonna go on a limb and say jp made this one up to sell books. don't think healing is promised through taking communion.
the past need a translator . not fool etc

And I don't think you should. There is plenty of scripture supporting the Grace crowd and plenty supporting the non Grace crowd. I believe the truth is somewhere in the middle and no one is willing to get there; it seems this way to me at least.

again, because for some reason you missed the post where I said I hardly have watched him, this is not about a defense of anyone; rather a defense of what Christ has already done

I defend God's unmerited favor

I don't defend anyone else; I'm sure God probably does though

this sarcastic response of yours does not serve any purpose IMO

scripture says that the earth is God's footstool...if you think the world is getting poorer and poorer, do you suppose it is getting worse as more and more turn from God and accept secular human reasoning and a diluted gospel that attacks others if they have more?

There are 2 aspects to grace. The very first thing that Jesus does with the woman caught in adultery is that He gets rid of her accusers - the religious Pharisees that wanted to condemn her because the "bible" said so in the Old Covenant...she was to be stoned. ( the law condemns us )

Jesus was the only one qualified to condemn her but He didn't.

1) acceptance grace - which has nothing to do with our behavior -
as seen with the woman caught in adultery. Our Lord beautifully says " I do not condemn you".

It is in knowing you are not condemned that releases the other aspect of grace.

2) now, go and sin no more - this is empowering grace.

Empowering grace enables you to be who the Father sees you are in Christ now because you are a new creation in Him.

The religious mindset says to the woman caught in adultery - 'Do not sin and we will not condemn you."

The grace of God and the blood of Jesus speaks of better things in this New Covenant of grace!

"Knowing" that we are not condemned in Christ "releases" the life of the empowering grace to transform us. It's all about Christ! It's His fruit being manifested in us!

Acceptance grace which is not based on our behavior needs to be cemented in our hearts before empowering grace is able to be manifested.

What believers in a self-effort/self-performance D.I.Y. holiness/righteousness based mindset and the self-appointed "fruit inspectors" have a very hard time with is the "acceptance grace" part...this just drives them nuts...and I understand why..it is scandalous and it "conflicts" with their religious man-made traditions.

I heard about grace (for the second time) only recently. I already heard the word "grace" when I was a Catholic searching for God and who got found by Him when I read Eph.2:8-9 That became my salvation verse so shocked I was about God loving me if I was not a Catholic. Since my family raised us on certain beliefs about God's approval and since forever I had to be a certain religion.

God's love (grace) is bigger than all that deeply embedded family tradition that were the very building blocks of who we were as people. I was watching Billy Graham crusades on tv and the Holy Spirit was preparing my heart all along. He can actually tear down walls in hearts and minds and bring truth in for us to see.

When I heard about grace for the SECOND time it was as a 54 yr. old woman who was saved about 34 yrs. already. I knew the official version of grace for my salvation so many years before but not the kind of grace that teaches me today in the love of God in Christ kind. The kind of grace that teaches us how to live the Christian life and then empowers us to do it... And the part that I was again shocked about is - even while we are learning as believers--- we are not condemned. We have the gift of NO condemnation to use daily. We are not ever out of a honeymoon stage when it comes to the love (grace) of God. We are walking perpetually IN the love of God in Christ.

When we got saved, Jesus took every one of our sins and wiped them away and infused us with HIS righteousness clearing us of Adam's sin and it's penalties. We had Adam's sin IMPUTED on us at the time of our birth. We were already condemned because we were IN Adam. There is no way to get rid of that imputed sin except by a death. Jesus died and HE IMPUTED HIS righteousness in us and killed the sin nature in us. We died with Him.

I know!!! It all sounds soooo amazing but it's the way God worked it out. Now if you have Jesus Christ as your Savior., you have HIS gift of IMPUTED righteousness on you now. No more a sinful human born in Adam but a righteous son of God born again in Christ.

There is nothing YOU can do anymore to get God to love you anymore OR any less than He already does IN Christ. It's no more about less.,it's always about learning about the MORE you never knew you already had. And all of the in between stuff we all worry about as Christians is no longer an issue when it comes to our acceptance with God who is now our loving Father. The burden is gone! How true it is that burdens are lifted at Calvary., Jesus is very near.

So, now for all of us believers (if we DARE to believe this kind of love from God that is called 'grace')
now we have a clear path forged by our Good Shepherd for us to follow. On that path are amazing things for us to have if we dare to believe Him. And we are never to old to learn about this and grow up more each day. And the more we learn He loves us., the more we love Him. It's how He worked it out.
We are made to respond to grace and then we see more grace. It's a never ending source.

Just think of those sheep who won't take this love/grace from the Good Shepherd. They don't get the green grass by the crystal clear waters He would lead them too if they followed and instead they are ALWAYS IN WANT. They stay waaay off in the dry hay with just enough to survive. They get those nasty parasites on them and are each day exhausted trying to remove them because they are sucking out their life blood making their sheep bodies weak.

There is so much more in the grace of God for us believers if we DARE to believe He loves us that way and that much more than our minds could even think. He isn't impressed with our holding back from daring to take from Him. It's not being polite to not take! It's being starved!! He wants us to not only taste and see how good He is BUT to daily take from His table. It makes Him glad. It pleases Him when we are no longer trying to meet our own needs sitting off eating dry hay actually believing our piousness is good for Him and us. He wants us to LET HIM meet all of our needs.

There is more to God's love-grace than we first heard.

Amen ladylynn...our loving Father throughout the ages to come is going to show us His "surpassing riches" of His grace in kindness to us in Christ. When Paul speaks of the "surpassing riches" of God..imagine how vast that must be?

Ephesians 2:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Wow Ladylynn, I am making it big cause these words have just blessed me.

The last paragraph especially.

I am not one to focus on satan, but it occurred to me that satan has been very good at distorting this truth and he continues to work at trying to keep it from being revealed, understandably so... it really is where he is defeated.
