The days are getting darker and darker ... many sins are now exalted and boasted about.

Many people now boast how well they can lie ... boast about having multiple partners ... boast about successful revenge ... boast of atheism ...

Religious teaching has been taken out of schools and parents don't teach their kids about God ... so the general ethics that used to be based on the bible are vanishing also.
They believe they are being emancipated from the shackles of Christianity and that
horrible sky daddy we know as God the Father and the source of all Truth.

It is easy to talk to others that are in agreement it is hard to confront those that are not. Too many times we don't because of confrontation. We must not fear. Be as gentle as doves but as shrewed as serpents.

My message to start off was to let people know that homosexuality is a sin so that they don't fall in the trap and or they could escape the trap. Let us pray for everyone in that evil snare.
I think it wiser to pray that others (steeped in whatever sins they are steeped in) come to Christ ... then the Holy Spirit will bring the power they need to desist in whatever sins they are finding hard to leave behind.

Without Christ all attempts to correct sin is futile ... even success in correcting our wayward ways without Christ is but a fleshly outward act. There is only one thing that is truly effective against sin and truly beneficial to our present and future and that is the blood of Christ Jesus.

I agree Willie-T. I never intended to come right out and say your sinning but to let them know they are rather by question or by being straight forward.
I don't know why you would single them out ... if you're going to do this "convicting" then you should stop EVERY person you meet and confront them with their sins. Why target one group of sinners? Anyone not in Christ falls short ...

We should confront all. That includes all unsaved. I singled them out because they are most noticeable and are being flaunted as good in a way.

I see that you are a new member.......so I will refrain from my usual responses to these "hot button issue" postings. But, I will be tracking your creation of threads to see if this posting of "hot button issue" topics becomes the norm for you. That will reveal very much to all here. Anyway, like I said, I'll bow out and just kinda hang around to see how you progress from here..........

Have a blessed day

Because they have not been singled out and picked on enough already? Hmmm.
I wonder if homosexuality gets picked on so much because it is the one sin that
most heteros have not committed. Why don't you go after liars or adulterers?
One person here keeps asking what is the point of being gay if you are not going
to have gay sex? Do we ask that of heterosexuals? Hmmm.

Yes but I pray no one would exalt pride, murder, or adultery. The thing that is happening now is people are happy when you come out of the closet as if something glorious. Sin is sin all is shameful and a reproach.
Yes, well we hide these sins inside ourselves, so we aren't exalting them, we are hiding them because we don't dare exalt them - we are exalting ourself. Because they are hidden from us, we feel secure to focus on someone elses sin, and in this way, we think we can condemn them for their sin because it is so visible. But no one can focus on the beam in their own eye if they are focusing only on the visible sins of others and tsking about what a travesty their sin is. We should see that our holiness and righteousness exceeds theirs before we dare condemn them for being sinners. And hidden sin in us while simultaneously focusing on visible sin in others is something God hates.

Exodus 20:13-16
[SUP]13 [/SUP]“You shall not murder.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]“You shall not commit adultery.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]“You shall not steal.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

How many Christians in the Church today lie??
How many Christians in the Church today steal??
How many Christians in the Church today commit adultery??

Just remember when you point a finger at a person who is a Homosexual, there are 4 fingers pointing back at you!!!

You say thou shalt not be a Homosexual, do you lie?
You say thou shalt not be a Homosexual, do you steal?
You say thou shalt not be a Homosexual, do you commit adultery?
You say thou shalt not be a Homosexual, do you murder?

The sin of lying is just as great as the sin of being Gay!

As far as I understand things we are to exhort those WITHIN the church ... and preach the gospel to those outside of the church.

1 COR 5: 12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

Here are in my opinion the top sins needing recognition today that by our wicked government and media have been made light instead of darkness. 1-Homosexuality. 2-Adultery. 3- Disobedience. 4-Humanism.

Are you arguing with Paul?

I guess if that's true ... then maybe the churches need to raise the bar? Or lower it?

2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
2Ti 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

God said there is going to be some hypocrites running around, but there are a lot more of them today than before time, like the saying,Mama said there would be days like this, but she didn't tell me there would be so many of them.

No only those that continue to sin after being confronted.

This is what Paul said. It is quite a section of his books.

So what solution would you propose if someone is in blatant outward sin and refuses to stop? Say they have been caught stealing from the ladies purses three times?

I have actually seen a church shun members from time to time ... usually it was effective and the member returned after correcting his/her ways. God's word is effective.
