By credentials I mean my undoubted and verifiable presence on an RNC blacklist. :p

Conservativism isn't necessarily a "direction" but a set of transcendent beliefs about God's relationship with man and man's relationship with man.

The fact we've allowed a French parliamentary model determine that these bedrock principles are nothing but a "direction" or faction has gotten us to where we are.

American Conservatism is, was, and should remain the true North if any direction is to be applied. A model for the rest of the country and the world.

That's the perspective I'm writing from anyway. I can't speak for everyone. But my credentials are better than theirs :p

Amen to this.

I hear what you're saying and always respect your viewpoints. It's seems at least the modern interpretation of conservatism is a hollow shell of what it is supposed to stand for. And as for liberalism it has been bastardized and corrupted by Marxist totalitarianism. And that is why I subscribe to neither.

You're voting for Trump?!!!
Hey, I'm not proud of it. :(

I've been a Bernie supporter from the beginning and have made it known all year on this forum that if it's not Bernie, it's anyone but Hillary. This is why I am so critical of Trump. He's the only candidate that can stop Hillary, but the biggest appeal he has is how terrible Hillary is. I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade, even if it's for the candidate I will ultimately be voting for. I've even made it known I'm personally against Sanders' pro-choice stance. Aside from that, there aren't many things I can object to. Trump on the other hand... that's another story. Some of his followers here act as if he is sinless... all because he's not as bad as Hillary. The goal should be to be objective, even if you ultimately will be voting for said candidate.

So unless Bernie somehow gets in the picture, I'l have to vote "against Hillary", and not necessarily "for Trump." However, Rachel, Posthuman, Voldemort, and Jenny have made beautiful cases against voting for the lesser of two evils. I can't even refute their biblical logic. Maybe I'm not as strong to the word as I hope I could be, but I want to be able to say I did everything I could to stop Hillary from being president. Not voting is not an option in the home I was raised in. I would feel unappreciative if I decided to sit out because both candidates are utter trash. I just hope when/if Trump fails as president, my decision won't come back to haunt me.

lol You think?! No kidding... when you have Trump claiming to be a conservative, it's safe to say modern conservatism is a hollow shell of what it is suppose to stand for.

and there she goes again. Trump loves America. It isn't his fault that he has to appeal to a broad spectrum of idiots to garner enough votes.

It isn't his fault? Then whose fault is it that he is only gaining a portion of the conservative vote? Do you expect him to get a trophy for participating in the presidential election if he loses to Clinton? That's not even the point... the point is that there is such a thing as conservationism and Trump is not their champion... No more than McCain was the champion of conservationism in 08'.

Thank you :)

I agree.

The Conservative Movement that serves as the perennial opponent of the establishment has its own establishment. People with competing power interests who view their organization as a fiefdom more than anything else.

In some ways I thank Trump for shaking them out of their comfort zones and getting them to realize that it's time to change that. That doesn't mean that Trump is one of them. ;)

But Trump will minimally listen to what they have to say and not use the bureaucratic organs of power to operationally nullify them.

I have no idea what you are talking about and the point I made is apparently totally lost on you. You should go back to the kiddie pool. You'll drown in the deep end.

I think the key is, as I said, be supportive of the GOP nominee in this moment for the reasons listed above, but reserve the right to criticize him if/when he shows tyrannical colors.

I suppose it was lost. It was in response to what you and Desdichado were talking about.

As will I. So far, nothing to comment on in that regard....unless you just make stuff up like many are prone to do around me here.

But when you do exercise that right, be prepared to be called a liberal Hillary supporter. lol

When I criticized bush I was never accused of being a Hillary supporter or liberal or whatever. I, like trump, love America and will do what I have to do regardless of the letter by the name.

Hahahaha, well I have the political equivalent of sheep's blood over my door on here as far as that's concerned.

The Trumpers here are some of my best buddies CC buddies via PMing. They know where I'm at.

Because even the very people who voted for Bush recognize he was a disaster. Did you vote for Bush?

Chances are if Trump loses, 4 years from now you'll be singing a different tune about him just as people are doing about Bush/McCain/Romney. So many "conservatives" voted for them and can easily blast them now. Trump won't be any different if he doesn't "make America great again".

I would not call anyone a H-bomb supporter if any criticism of Trump was legit and the matter important.
