The New Testament writings are an extension of the Old. They were given by the same God. The whole Bible is a progressive revelation of Gods plan of Salvation. To lose sight of this ends in confusion
when we live in a house, we know a foundation is there. the foundation of christianity is judaism. the jewish religion, governed by the mosaic Law. this first covenant is obsolete, and we are not under the Laws authority. its confusing when we think judaism is christianity or visa versa. its confusing to have One law saying " stone the sinner" and Jesus saying " let He who is without sin cast the first stone...Neither do i condemn you" 2 religions one is death and can only ever result in death, the other is Life to those who accept and Believe Jesus the CHRIST.
hebrews 8:13 "
By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear."
My position is now and always has and will be, the ministry of Jesus Christ is the Kingdom of God, the Law of moses, is judaism they do not go together one is old and fading will end with the world, the other is new and ternally true and authoritative. Jesus words are different than all others. He is Greater, He is the One promised throughout old testament scripture would come and that we must Listen to Him. He is the One who was foretold God would put His own words in His mouth. the Christ is the One who would Bring Salvation, not moses, nor paul. Jesus.
why do we suppose paul spent so much tinme defending the church against judaizers who came after Him and tried to make the christians adhere to mosaic Law? the book of galatians the first 4 chapters are all about this as well as much of pauls writing. the dire mistake is to teach that Jesus taught the mosaic Law as the gospel, because if a person believes that, then you learn that the Law doesnt apply anymore boom...satan has ommited the Words of the Lord, the Savior, the way, truth and Life who spoke the new and eternal Covenant the Kingdom of God.
we Know the house we Live in Has a foundation, but we dwell above the foundation, inside the finished Home. if a person wants to obey the Law of moses thats great, but to obey it, means we obey all of it and are bound also by its restrictions. its best to take the Law, study and learn from it...But to obey and follow and trust in the Things Jesus taught. which are different than Law
the Law says if your wife displeases you give her a certificate of divorce...Jesus says if you divorce your wife except for unfaithfulness...you are now and adulterer" 2 different directives. one its okay to divorce if ur unhappy, the other, its not okay to divorce unless your spouse is unfaithful.
in the Law, the diseased, the lame, crippled the physically imperfect are forbidden to come close to God, in the new covenant He takes them By the Hand and Heals them through Jesus Christ........different principles. one sprang from the other, but the new is all there is.
