I read most of both chapters. He teaches this scripture:

~1Jn 1:6 If we claim that we have fellowship with him but keep living in darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.
1Jn 1:7 But if we keep living in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

-as obedience to the Word.

It's thoughts that give entrance for a wrong spirit...so keep to the Word of God. Even error is a "spirit".

It's what he learned through his experiences. I agree with this.

Now I shall read the book.

Stones,
You will make up your own mind and it was not my intention to upset 7 seas.

Prince states that there are always 2 natures fighting inside of us. Is that really what the nearly to good to be true Gospel says?

misuse of the word possession with regards to demons and what they can and cannot do
demons can do whatever a person lets them do regardless of whether they are Christian or not.

devils seek to deceive people into accepting their lies and suggestions and seeks to talk them in to acting on them... and Christians are certainly known for doing what the devil tells them

That can certainly be defined as possession.

No, it's not. But, I didn't know that until that until a few years back. That's the point that I read in his book. Obedience to His Word...the revelation from Jesus to Paul. Believe is obedience, right?

I went to my facebook and Lee Jensen had just posted this.

~EVIL SPIRITS
Evil spirits can sit in our soul gates. Evil spirits lodge over the mind and control our thinking and imagination. They can do that. When this is the case deliverance is required to set the person free.
There is a kingdom law; we are made in such a way that we can be influenced by spiritual entities, things from the spirit realm. And if we continue to yield to that influence it will become a part of us.
That is how we are made. That is how we were born-again .We had an influence of the spirit realm. The Holy Spirit began influencing us and when we finally yielded to him, he became a part of us. That is the principle.
But the principal is true of the whole of the spirit realm. So we are made where we can be influenced by the spirit realm and if we accept that influence, for a period of time if we accept it, it will join itself to us. It will become part of us. And it will attach itself to us.
These spirits attach themselves to a thought or a concept or a form of mind, a mold, a mindset and that's where the stronghold is. They build a stronghold in the mind and their power is that they are attached to a false concept. They are attached to a lie which is not the truth.
Those spirits attach themselves to that mindset, that way of thinking, that concept, those set of values which are not true and so that leaves the position for these demonic spirits to clothe our mind.
And they will then strengthen that concept. We can see this with people with certain kinds of mindsets. It is so difficult to change them when it is so obviously wrong. But it is so difficult to change them because it is spiritual thing. It is almost impossible to get them out of those mindsets. That spirit builds a house , it attaches itself to a lie, a false concept, something which is not pure, or is not the truth and it attaches itself to that and it continues to strengthen itself and feed into the mind.
It will feed into our mind by thoughts or it will feed into our mind through our imagination, pictures, it will feed into us by feeling. When that happens and it gets a stronghold in us, then we need deliverance, because the spirits have built a stronghold there. And it just sits there.
And these then become random thoughts that keep coming to our mind, it can be unclean thoughts, unclean pictures, they can be pornographic, or they can be just false concepts, they can be just lies, there are certain kinds of spirits which just sit over a person and just continually lie about other people.
That is why it says whatsoever things are of a good report only think on those things, and then we can filter it out what is coming into our minds.
These are Demons, these are spirits. The Bible tells us from the beginning. Satan was a murderer from the beginning; the father of lies.
It will sit there and lie to a person, quite often about other people, and then deluded Christians call that discernment. They have a thought about someone else, something is wrong, and they haven’t filtered it out and after a while they think they are getting discernment and they are deceived by a deceiving lying spirit.
Let’s say if we are shown something or feel something negative about a person and it causes us to think wrongly of that person. We have been deceived.
When true discernment comes about a person it comes with a manifestation of love, and it comes with the right attitude, we will not think bad about that person nor will we divulge it to someone else. And if we have what they call discernment and it causes us to think evil about that person that discernment does not come from God because God does not cause you to sin. Most of Christian discernment, so called is in that category.
These spirits are sitting on the mind, when we lose control and can't stop thinking a certain way that is not good, it is a spiritual problem.
Spirits will come and test us; they will give us an imagination, an unclean imagination and will stand back and watch what we do with it. If we don't accept it, the door is closed. They will try again, and they might try this over a period of time. If we keep closing that door, they will give up. We have closed the door.
It’s where we respond to thoughts, not having the thought. These spirits will come along and they will try us out. The spirit realm has an incredible capacity to interact with our mind and they can put in pictures, put in thoughts, they can put in concepts and if we don't object it will make its nest there, and have children.
Then we have a big problem. If we open the door, if we consciously open the door we need to repent – thinking with God, his thoughts flowing into our mind through our spirit communing with him. We have to begin to take back our mind we have to realize that we are dealing with an entity, with a spirit. We are not dealing with a concept.
We are dealing with a personality. We have to treat it as such, a personality which is attached to our thoughts and concepts. We need to renounce the thought or thought patterns. And we need to continue to do that. Not just once. Every time it happens we renounce it right away, take authority over it. We don’t accept it. We deal with it as a person. It is a personality, we deal with it as a demonic spirit and address it as a demonic spirit, take authority over it. And tell it where to go. And get rid of it.
We have to deal with it. We have to be persistent because it is going to be persistent with us, particularly if we opened the door to it. We have got to start closing the door. We are dealing with demons, personalities, the whole nature of the spirit is the nature of the lie and it infuses us with that.
We must be very strong with this. It’s not enough to be meek and mild with these spirits .We have to be strong and take back our mind.
As we learn how to be continually filled with the Spirit, we will be empowered to say no and close the door. It is only as we are submitted to God, that we can resist the enemy and he will flee.
As long as we do not entertain the thoughts of the enemy we can stay free. It is how we respond to them that is the key. The enemy works in darkness so we have to learn how to be clothed with the light of God.

NO sir, a devil does not make you do anything, you do something because you want to do it and have not renewed your mind in that area.

James 1.13-16
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. [SUP]14 [/SUP]But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. [SUP]16 [/SUP]Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

Derek Prince and people like him propagate the idea that people, even sons and daughters of God are helpless over devils and have no power over them and everything they do or happens because a devil/demon made em do it.

Utter foolishness. the only weapon a demon/devil has over you is deception. A devil cannot force you to do anything you do not want to do. This is why people like Derek Prince are to be avoided. It also creates lazy Christians and gives them excuses for not growing spiritually.

The simple fact guys like Derek missed and miss is simple, if you are not a threat to Satan or his kingdom he won't do anything to deceive you or attack you, he will leave you alone, because he and his demons know you are your own worst enemy to the kingdom of heaven.

Likewise, he knows if you are serious threat to him and its an attack and not deception, but he can always be defeated by faith and submission to God even in these attacks.

I used to try to understand why real born again Christians, who seem to want to be in the truth of God, can be so obviously deceived in certain areas. I think I found the answer. I believe that when a person is presented with obvious truth, and by an act of their will choose to reject that truth, for what ever the reason, that after that initial rejection, that Satan is allowed to deceive the person until they actually think that the lie they believe is the truth. For example, most bible teachers read of a post-trib rapture in the bible, but are told by their superiors that it is not what it appears to be. Once the person has read Matt 24 and chose to believe it is not the rapture of the church, then a spirit of deception is allowed to deceive the person until they actually think they are correct.

WHERE exactly did I say the devil "makes" people do stuff???

I did not say that at all... and it is entirely possible for a Christian to be possessed... because like you say they want to do what the devil is suggesting to them!

You know, if a Christian wants to have a devil... they can, and God will let them.

As you already know I am quite new in the Faith and I have seen plenty of interesting videos by Derek Prince on YouTube, I would be very grateful if someone told me whether he is a good preacher and it is good material to watch.

Thank you very much in advance and many Blessings.

Stay away, his teaching are not according to grace. He teaches that the curses of Deuteronomy 28 can be applied to Christians, but those curses are for those under the Law and it's legal demands that Jesus nailed to the cross.

Colossians 2:13-15 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

James 4:7English Standard Version (ESV)

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

i do disagree with the possession bit, how can darkness and light dwell together, when the devil is seen as an angel of light its never truly gods light, i have met many christians that will admit they once believed they were christian but then had an encounter with god and realised they had only been playing at being a christian, not false, but self-deceived.

now your twisting my words again xD
I just told you that I eat pig meat but the discussion was about why in the OT times ppl shouldnt..Becase its hot in the desert and grows samonella. I dont live in the desert
Tho if you keep twisting my words I will move there

Everybody can believe whatever he/she wants.... but if you do not accept the basic creeds of Christianity (I mean about Trinity) and then if you add sabbath and "no pigs" diet, it seems you are more a Jew than a Christian.

Because this is what they are mostly distinguished by :)

BTW not sure why do you liked my posts about this :D

no Johnny. that is not true

possession means ownership

if you are OWNED by a demon, you are not OWNED by Christ

see, this is the problem. people do not understand the Greek which is far different from some of the main translations, but I won't name names or that will initiate a whole nother knee jerk rabbit trail ( some people here are like Beagles. they think they smell something and off they go, baying down the trail)

God says we are bought ~ with a price

For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. I Corinthians 6:20

no one WANTS to have a demon. the word is demon. there is only ONE devil but many demons

the kind of post you submitted is what makes for very bad understanding and helps no one at all

maybe you ought to just pull up a chair and ask questions
:p

I believe what Prince wrote

period

and I do believe demons can be in Christians, not possessing them, but in them

and I do not see anything in scripture that provides me with the assurance they cannot

people can believe what they want, but I know what I have seen, heard and the relief that comes AFTER a demon is expelled

people do not understand the very real power the devil has and has been allowed to have

I am sure some will consider that heretical but that's fine
So sad..... folks don't know the difference between oppression & possession. If a demon came out, that person was never a christian to begin with.

Luke 13:16
New American Standard Bible
"And this woman, a daughter of Abraham(righteous) as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years(oppressed), should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?"

As a believer indwelt with the Holy Spirit it is not possible to be possessed by a demon.
However, it is certainly possible, as a believer, to be harassed and attacked by demons - no question.
There are those who believe, erroneously, that being a Christian makes demonic attack impossible but this makes a mockery of passages such as these: Eph 6:10-20, 2 Cor 12:7.

There are two kinds of preachers:
1. Ones who teach the Bible verse by verse.
2. Ones who have an agenda and try to make the Bible fit into it.

The first are good preachers. The second are bad preachers.

I knew of Derek 35 years ago, but I don't know of him today. Which kind is he today?

He teaches that a Christian can be possessed and be under a generational curse, BOTH of which are UNTRUE!

Christians CANNOT be possessed (have a demon in them) and CANNOT be under a generational curse (ie. held legally responsible for what some distant relation did generations ago). John 17v11, 1John 5v18, Ezek 18 (all), Gal 3v13...
He still preaches that? Yeesh! I'd think he'd get bored with that after 40+ years.

Sooo, same Derek? That's bad!
