sure cant disagree with that :)

and how is that accomplished ?

abraham was called a friend also, and Jesus calls a certain group His friends also :)

God bless, this is way off subject but do you study prophecy at all ?
I'll talk to my Lady about that.. How its accomplished...She's known the lord many years longer than I. Now there is a wise woman. She is the one who led me to the Lord..Shes been my mentor and teacher besides my best friend and wife.
Do I study prophesy? A little....

You know? Rich Joyner talks about being Gods friend on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xm11INvYRY I have not listened to it but I like Rick Joyner and his teaching

How can you compare Job to Jesus? Job made sacrifices to God, for his kids because he was allowing them to throw all sorts of " parties" and did nothing to stop it???

It's appointed unto man to die once... so Enoch and Elijah are most likely the 2 witnesses spoken of in Revelation that will proclaim the Gospel night and day for 2 years (no man being able to stop them during this time) and then be martyred...

Appointed unto man once to die can also be thought of as man will leave this natural realm once... since some will go in the rapture not having seen physical death which does not mean God lied about it being appointed unto man to die once found in Hebrews 9:27
Night and day for 2 years.....???? How about 42 months

When the author of Hebrews said that it is appointed until all men to die, he was just making a general statement about the human race, two men that was known in scripture had not died but were taken by God. Also there will be an entire generation that will not die, those believers alive when Christ returns. That would be neat folks, to think that you will never have to die, even in this life.
i think the same is true of pauls writings, when he says " death passed to all men, because all sinned" its more of a general statement, than a detailed fact. describing mankind as a whole because through adam came mortality.

just a scripture as to your thought there

john 11:25-26 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? "

most welcome bro, sounds like a great blessing to each other.

mark 10:6-9 "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. 7For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; 8And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder"

God knew Job would not cave in to Satan's attack. Job took all he could take, and the only thing he did wrong was question God about what he was going through. one thing is for sure,he never cursed God, that is what Satan set out to get him to do.

Hi Ariel,

I can't agree with this clip from the article.

When I read the account in James, I believe he IS saying to be patient like Job. James uses Job and the prophets as an example of patience and because of their endurance,
the outcome of the Lord’s dealings is that the Lord is full of compassion mercy.

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door. As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. James 5:7-11

so you would punish a kid for doing something they didnt know was wrong? the same as one who did know, and did it? i think in that instance ( just for the sake of our discussion, not saying you) the guilty party would be the parent who failed teaching the child would it?

to me, id think " dang, i didnt tell jr, its on me, and then id explain to him not to wrote on the wall, if then he did it after that, His punishment would be just :)

but anyways, im not sure this is important and i hope i havent offended you thanks for the disscussion, and good posts God bless you
I wouldn't "punish" either. I would chastens both and then have the child who was given the instructions explain to the other kid what I expected. Then I would have them clean the wall.

When kids don't obey commands/rules, you don't have to "punish" them by taking away privileges or putting them in time out or giving them a lecture.

Kids learn better if you ask them to think and remember what you already told them.

The consequences of the actions should reflect the offense and fix what they messed up or make amends for the people they hurt.
.
That's how God teaches us and its how we should discipline our children.

In our family, we talk about teaching moments more than punishments. If we forget and do something we shouldn't we don't beat each other up over it. We just do the forgotten chore, say sorry for fighting, etc. Then we move on in love.

I once read that Job had the sin of vanity, but was unaware of it, so when confronted, he thought God was wrong to punish him, which was another sin. I just read through it a few months ago and I have a lousy memory, so I don't remember how it finally resolved, but I don't remember it being like what I read. I mainly remember that he got double of everything back for not abandoning God.

Job didn't take his wife's advice to curse God and die....so he was patiently waiting for God's will in that at least.

I believe he was pushed to sin by his three friends and they were influenced by demonic dreams.

Did anyone else notice that?

I believe this spirit was Satan and he was whispering lies.

What do you think?

.
Job 4

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said
*****
Now a word was secretly brought to me,
And my ear received a whisper of it.
13 In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night,
When deep sleep falls on men,
14 Fear came upon me, and trembling,
Which made all my bones shake.
15 Then a spirit passed before my face;
The hair on my body stood up.
16 It stood still,
But I could not discern its appearance.
A form was before my eyes;
There was silence;
Then I heard a voice saying:
17 ‘Can a mortal be more righteous than God?
Can a man be more pure than his Maker?
18 If He puts no trust in His servants,
If He charges His angels with error,
19 How much more those who dwell in houses of clay,
Whose foundation is in the dust,
Who are crushed before a moth?
20 They are broken in pieces from morning till evening;
They perish forever, with no one regarding.
21 Does not their own excellence go away?
They die, even without wisdom.’.
A mortal can't be more righteous or pure than God. However God does trust us and only 1/3 of the angels rebelled so He trusts the other 2/3.

Jesus came to save us and regards us. So we don't perish forever but have eternal life in Him. God sent His prophets and His Holy spirit to teach us wisdom...so its all a demonic lie that Eliphaz repeats from his dream.

Oh I am against blaming the parents for kids misbehaving.

Kids need to accept responsibility for their actions even if they have awful parents.

At the end of the day we all have God and He is the best parent ever...so who really can use the excuse of bad parenting to justify their sins?

One thing I have learned from the times I have read Job is each time I read the book the more I realize that Job is more about God's justice and character than it's about Job or his 4 friend's opinions about Job and God
Another takeaway I discovered in Job with the exception of God everyone in Job somewhere got something wrong or was off .
For me it's a great lesson in humility . I should always examine myself and beliefs before God's word . Jobs tells me no matter how much I may know I will always have more to learn concerning God ,His character and Justice.

The bible does not say Jobs children were bad. Partying does not make one bad...Notice they partied when the days work was done.

Job 42:7 And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
Job 42:8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
Job 42:9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.

There was no sacrifice made for Elihu,as the three other men.
