I guess I'm saying God speaks to us in the way that makes us listen. He gets our attention individually, in whichever he can, because after all we are all separate individual children of God.

It is NOT GOD that abandons US. It is US who abandon GOD..
Believe me I know, and I can freely admit that I ran from him to the blunt or whatever. But he came back to get me, and now I know, he's the only thing that truly heals the pain instead of fixing it temporarily.

true

but neither is the words : gay, transgender, feminism, fascist, abortion , plan parent hood, cocaine, heroin , crack etc...

I'm sure God did not intend from what we see HE has made for man to use an apple to smoke weed out of lol.

when we are under the influence ; which there is a reason why that term is used is that influence one is under of God?

when no where in the Bible do we see as a normative God speaking to us out side of HIS word or of the Holy Spirit.
I honestly thing all your points here are sound and true, but do you not agree that our relationship with God is 100% personal and God can reach us were we are at? Please don't get me wrong I am not saying that we should justify what we do wrong by just convincing ourselves that God "okays" what we are doing, but reading what she has shared with us and me knowing personally how He has reached and grown me so far, I understand her position 100%. Also are we not told it's not what we put into our body but what comes out of it that we are judged by, and also everything is lawful when we give thanks to Him. Again I am not disagreeing with anything you're saying, God led me personally away from partaking at all, and I think that's the goal, but I just see her as being on the right path. As long as she is seeking to grow closer to Him and to submit to His will for her then what more could we want for a sister. I have to admit that this issue is one I personally understand better than some here simply because it is something I have dealt with, but I just honestly feel God will lead her out of it when the time is right.

That all said I think that the things you're saying and the perspective you give is very important to this process as well, and is why I say I agree with you 100%, I just know the road and feel my words play a part as well. God can speak to each of us in a variety of ways, it will always line up with His written word, but He can do it however He chooses. That was my main point, sorry I took as long to get it out.

Not to disagree with a mod, LOL, but I absolutely believe that God can meet us in ANY circumstance, be it whether we are sober or drunk. :) It is when we are at our stupidest (and I speak from experience, lol) that God is closest to us...

LOl I think I need to clearly :) there is no need to agree with the mod because This mod did not say "God could not nor would not meet you where you are.

The context is "Is smoking marijuana okay with God?

Now if a person is saved I do not see in scripture where God needs weed or any other thing outside of His word and The Holy Spirit . I do not see the worldly application of smoking weed as something God would endorse . High is the same as Drunk just a different description of the same word. I have been both high and drunk more than once and I do not see how weed is edifying . when most Biblical theologians, pastors and teachers do not need to get high to have God speak to them. BUt if you are a Christian and you are asking "Is smoking Marijuana okay with God"? I think the answer is very clear .

Drugs and alcohol aren't edifying, but that's not to say that God can't use them to teach us a lesson, or in some cases, smarten us up. Because I think He absolutely does. :)

We ministered at a place a few weeks ago and there were at least 5 intoxicated folks hearing us.

Both an alcoholic drink (not getting drunk) and marijuana can be beneficial to ones' health. Pain, muscle spasms, seizures, these things can be useful for..

But, dependence is a drawback for anything including medicines. I don't know where the line should be drawn in these situations. Must just be considered on an individual basis.

I'm glad it's not my responsibility to do so.

That's why we all go through different things in life, be it sex addiction, drug addiction, cussing whatever have you. And God knows our personalities, because after all we're his children. And teaches each one of us according to our needs. At least that's how I personally, feel.

I wasn't meaning there isn't any side effects what so ever. I was meaning side effects that cause you to have to take different meds to fix. BTW, some of the side effects mentioned here are due to over indulging or abusing, not from casual use.
No, also incorrect!
I insist you cease this misinformation!

When I was a kid I asked my Dad who was a Christian godly man who smoked cigarettes, and a lot of the men in the church did too as that was the culture back then... If smoking would send you to HELL?... No!... he said but it will make you smell like you've been there... Brother Glen:D

Lol, and let's be real they still smoking to this day, but I figure they haven't asked God to deliver them from it. But he also does say come as you are! But that's funny, I'll have to remember that. :)

We had the same situation 2 weeks ago. My husband brought a couple from Texas to the same type of ministry. Several of the men are really on fire...all out for Jesus. There were some though one could tell they were there for food and shelter.

They hear the Word and see the Spirit moving. It won't return void.
