[SUP]8 [/SUP] Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

[SUP]9 [/SUP] I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;

[SUP]10 [/SUP] I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world.

[SUP]11 [/SUP] But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

No, I am not saying that "all words" can be dis-regarded. That's the way some people think what is being said. Which is not true at all.

What is "really" being said is - we need to rightly divide all scripture through the finished works of Christ and not mix up the covenants.

Do you go to the priest to show him that you are healed now? Of course not. Do you tell people in order to be saved that they keep the law of Moses? Of course not.

Some people say that people are dis-regarding all the words of Jesus ( which is a complete falsehood ) in order to malign what is really being said.

So, the words of Jesus as well as all scripture needs to be viewed through Christ alone. I understand that this will sometimes "conflict" with our religious church teachings and cause some confusion and in some people they feel it is now their right to slander others because of it. It's just the flesh acting up. It happens to all of us.

As per the parable you mentioned. Here is a great example of Jesus preaching the need for a new heart.

If us Christians still think we have an evil heart - we have missed the true Christian life and we are ignorant of the new creation in Christ and we will remain a baby Christian all our lives.

The parable of the unforgiven servant in which the kingdom of heaven "may be compared to".... Matthew 18

We need to read all scripture in context of the finished work of Christ and what He did on the cross. To say that our sins are not forgiven in the believer after the cross is NOT the gospel.

We will forgive because we are in Christ now and have His nature in us - we need to have our minds renewed to this truth and we will walk in it.

Matt 18:35 says that God will not forgive unless you forgive from your heart.

This was Jesus giving them the law. Moses 2.0 as it shows their need for a Savior in order for Jesus to create in them a new heart that loves and forgives just like their Father does in Jesus.

Love always forgives - it's in our nature now because we are in Christ - created in righteousness and holiness.

We have a new heart now
- so we can't really have unforgiveness in our hearts anymore which is why Jesus said ....

"If you do not forgive from your heart" ....this is to expose their need for a new heart which always forgives.

Acts 15:8-9 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] "And God, who knows the heart, testified to them giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;

[SUP]9 [/SUP] and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

We love now from our new hearts in Christ and our hearts cannot sin. So Jesus's verse above in Matthew 18 would not apply to the person in Christ as it is impossible for them to have sin in their heart and to not forgive. We have the very nature of God inside us now - righteousness and holiness.

Romans 5:5 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

1 John 5:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

1 John 3:9 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

We need to preach and teach the true gospel of the grace of Christ so that the believer in Christ can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus and walk out who they already are in their inner man - the new creation in Christ - created in righteousness and holiness.

When we see Christ as in a mirror - we see true selves being reflected back and the Holy Spirit transforms us outwardly to reflect Christ that is in us now. 2 Cor 3:17-18

This is also what I have said concerning why and how we forgive now in the New Covenant. I love it when I get to preach Christ and what He has already done for us! We have a great salvation in Him and a good, good loving Father. We can trust Them!

To keep the slander down to a minimum - I will post again what I really said and it does not conflict with any other post.

We as Christians forgive from our heart because we are already forgiven in Christ.

Knowing that we are completely forgiven based on Christ's blood - this releases forgiveness in us. This is the same principle as knowing the love of God for us releases His love in us to manifest to others.

We love because He first loved us. We forgive because we are forgiven. It's the kingdom's way of being manifested in and through us.

Preach and teach Christians the grace and love of our Father and Lord for us and that we too have died with Christ and been raised to newness of life in Him and we will see the fruit of His life manifesting in all of us.

Thank you Lord Jesus!
thats Just it you think Jesus words arent good, not for you yet you call Him Lord....

you use the word slander when there is no slander

three blind mice could read what you wrote and come to the same conclusion that I did

you CONSTANTLY do this. you flip what you wrote that causes someone to respond and give evidence of the false gospel you preach...I say false because anyone discounting the words of Jesus because it was part of the old covenant and therefore not binding, is deceived...and you backpeddle or try to backpeddle, out of what you wrote

this we don't need to forgive to be forgiven is utter crap

when you do not need to forgive, is when you come to Christ for salvation. thereafter, YOU NEED TO GROW UP and exhibit HIS life and forgive others AS JESUS SAID

it seems EVERYONE but you knows this

the thank you Jesus at the end of your post is fooling NO ONE and certainly not Jesus

you cannot thank Jesus while discounting His words. you seem to think that if you post vapid praises to Someone you don't actually believe in, that you will fool us

ain't working. you are preaching another Jesus

Here is a great article about forgiveness. It comes from an email I get every day called "Morning Love" by Ed Elliot. It is also called "Spiritual Coffee". I recommend people look into it.

Here is the website if interested. Bless you.

The Vagabond Evangelist

Today's "Morning Love".

Being bitter won't make you better.

Many years ago, I read a news story about a young girl who had been kidnapped and sexually attacked. Her hands and feet had been cut off and she was left for dead. She miraculously survived and the man was caught and sent to prison for his horrific crime.

Eighteen years later, this man was being paroled. The news media got wind of it and starting thinking it would make a great human interest story. They tracked down the girl who was now a married woman with children of her own and with cameras running they approached her front door.

When she answered, they delivered the news that the man who kidnapped and brutalized her was going to be set free! The cameras quickly zoomed in on her face, expecting to see a burst of emotional outrage and anger at hearing that this monster was going free, she calmly said, "eighteen years ago this man took thirty minutes of my life and I have decided not to give him one second more."

This lady was a believer and she made the decision to forgive the man who had maimed and violated her so terribly. If she hadn't, she would have also been in a prison but of a different kind.

Someone once said, "Harboring unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping your enemy will die!"

Unforgiveness poisons anyone who holds on to it causing them to become bitter; it is impossible to be bitter and get better at the same time!

Jesus said in Luke 4:18, that He came to heal the broken hearted. He still does that today His word declares He hasn't changed.

The love every believer possesses today is the very same love that forgave the entire world at the cross. God would never ask us to forgive if He hadn't equipped us with the ability to so. This same love can heal your broken heart and enable you to forgive the one who broke it.

Living in God's forgiveness is freedom; knowing how to forgive is freeing.

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
Jesus said in Luke 4:18, that He came to heal the broken hearted. He still does that today "His word declares He hasn't changed. "

from your article you recommend

matthew 6:14-15 "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

its a must, a REQUIREMENT

His Word DOES declare He hasnt changed thanks for making that point, to show that doctrine that explains He has changed is so far from truth. rather than following the explainations of these authors seeking wealth, you might want to Just see that one sentance " His word declares He hasnt changed = there is no different Gospel than what He spoke. same yesterday today, tommorrow and forever and ever. same Jesus, same word, same Gospel.

nah

what you love is attention and being right

you are wrong and your gospel, because it certainly is NOT the gospel of Jesus, is the preaching of hyper charismatics who have left the course and veered off into the Disneyland of foolishness

frankly, you really start to remind me of that old song by Carly Simon only with reference to you leaving Jesus

Hold this mirror up to yourself, Jason. It applies to you as well because you reject the deity of Christ, which is plainly revealed in Scripture. It is always so odd to see you chastising people for not accepting what is written when you yourself do not accept what is written. It is also odd you do not see it. Don't shoot the messenger :)

He oreaches a new "Lens" or in other words " Let me tell you how to see Jesus, what to believe and what not to Believe." its what He learns and thus what He speaks. He tries Hard to explain a second gospel, tries to preach paul, but only whatever seems unconditional. its nothing new its always been that way even in the prophets the priests and false prophets were doing the same thing, " God choise us, He will never honor His multiple warnings of destruction. this began just before the exile to babylon and were warned to watch out for it through the nt also

Jude 1:4-Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5
I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. ( those who were destroyed were the ones who refused the Lords Word they didnt Believe Him when He said Obey Me and Live, disobey me and you will surely die)

remember these are word-for-word accounts of the true gospel of the grace of Christ being preached.

Here's Peter....shouldn't he have said "
You need to forgive anyone first before you can receive God's forgiveness by the blood of Jesus"??

Acts 10:43 (NASB)
[SUP]43 [/SUP] "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

And the same thing for Paul - he didn't say 'You need to forgive first before we you can be forgiven by the blood of Jesus"
??

Acts 13:38 (NASB)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

Or is it possible Jesus was talking about the law when He gave those words out for His disciples at the time they were still under law then? The New Covenant didn't come into effect until Jesus died and rose again to obtain our eternal forgiveness.

Here Paul says that forgiveness is all based on "according to the riches of His grace "..not if we forgive first.

Ephesians 1:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace
I believe I will stick with this. Thank you Jesus for the forgiveness of sin through your blood that You shed for us in the New Covenant.

Trying to fit what Peter and Paul said in Acts 10 and 13 - in their word-for-word accounts of preaching the true gospel of the grace of Christ can "conflict" with some of our religious beliefs.

The truth is that they did not say. "you must forgive others before you can receive Christ's forgiveness - obtained by God's riches in grace which He purchased with His own blood for an eternal redemption and the complete forgiveness of sins"

There is no "conditional" forgiveness which is contingent on us forgiving first in the New Covenant which started after the Cross and Jesus fulfilled the law for us.

It's anti-the gospel. It is however 100% the law that we must forgive first in order to receive forgiveness in the law.

We forgive now because we are already forgiven in Christ. This is our new nature in Him in our inner man in Christ being expressed out to others.

Paul says in Eph. 4:22 to put on the new man in Christ - created in righteousness and holiness...then he shows us what this looks like in the next verses including this one below.

Ephesians 4:32 (NASB)
[SUP]32 [/SUP] Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
And I will stick with this belief. If you choose to believe differently - that is your choice. I won't slander you or deal in malice because you do.

Galatians 5:15-16 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.

[SUP]16 [/SUP] But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

Here is a view of Matthew 6 and forgiveness through the finished work of Christ. I like to use this site sometimes as it has a place at the bottom of the article where people can ask questions. Many of us have the same questions.

Did Jesus Put Price tags on Forgiveness? (Matthew 6:14-15)

The gospel that Jesus revealed declares that God loves you like a father, he holds nothing against you, and he longs for his sons and daughters to come home. It’s the good news an orphaned world desperately needs to hear.
So why did Jesus say this:

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (Matt 6:14-15)

This sounds like bad news, as though you must earn God’s forgiveness through works of forgiveness. How are we to read these words? I’m going to give you three interpretations, and then you can choose.

1. Jesus is preaching law

As many grace preachers have said (including me in this post), Jesus was preaching law to those who lived under law.

Jesus was the greatest law preacher of all time. He preached law so the self-righteous would see their desperate need for grace.

The old law-keeping covenant has gone but the self-righteous who remain need to hear the harsh words of Jesus. The truth is you cannot earn God’s forgiveness. The measure of forgiveness we need is infinitely greater than any forgiveness we could show to others.

Did Jesus put price tags on forgiveness? In this passage, he does! But on the cross he paid that price on our behalf. The very condition for forgiveness that Jesus preached on the Mount, he fulfilled on the cross. Only in Christ do we receive the Father’s forgiveness.

2. Jesus is describing the fruit of grace

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20)

Taylor Swift sang “Haters gonna hate,” but the lyrics are from John. Haters gonna hate because hate is in their heart. The fruit reveal the tree. But if you have been apprehended by the love of your heavenly Father you won’t be a hater anymore. You’ll be a lover and a forgiver.

Paul wrote, “Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Col 3:13) and that’s the proper order. God acts, we respond. But if we don’t respond it’s as if God never acted. Do you see the connection? If we don’t believe God has forgiven us then Christ died for nothing. That’s what Jesus is saying here:

In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part. (Matt 6:14-15, MSG)

Unforgiveness is a form of bondage. It’s a grace killer. If you are unable to release forgiveness to others, you’ll have trouble experiencing the forgiveness that God has given to you.

It’s not that God will become unloving and travel back through time and stop Jesus from carrying your sins on the cross. God never changes! But if you don’t respond to what he has done, it’s as if he’d never done it. Grace without faith is worthless.

In the parable of the unforgiving servant, Jesus tells the story of a king who forgives an indebted servant (Matt 18:23-35). But the servant is unchanged by the king’s grace. By choosing to remain graceless and unforgiving the servant reveals his contempt for the gift and the giver. He does not, “Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Instead he scorns grace and ends up miserable.

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses. (Mark 11:25-26)

Again, there are two ways to read this: (1) as a law the self-righteous must obey if they are to keep up their charade, or (2) as an exhortation to walk in the grace of a Father who has already forgiven you in Christ.

Paul, how can you say God has forgiven you when Jesus says he may forgive you?” Because I’ve seen the cross!

To forgive is to send your sins away and Jesus did that already. He will never do it again and you cannot undo what he has done (Heb 9:26). Because of Jesus God is no longer counting your sins against you (2 Cor 5:19).

The issue is not “what can I get God to do?” but “what God has done and what can I now do because of what he has done.”

Has someone hurt you? Are you the victim of an unforgiveable crime? By the grace of God you can be free from that wound! Don’t hold onto the sins of others like the unforgiving servant. You’ll be miserable. The flow of grace will be poisoned by the bitter root. Let go of sin and take hold of grace. Be better, not bitter. See the cross. See what Jesus did for you them forgive them in Jesus’ Name and be free!

3. It’s both, for Jesus speaks to all of us at our point of need

What you look through determines what you see. If you are trusting in your own performance, you will read Jesus’ words as law. “I must work to earn God’s forgiveness.” You cannot succeed! When life hurts you this law will condemn you as a law-breaker in need of grace, and the sooner that happens the better.

However, if you are trusting in Christ’s righteousness, you will read his words as an exhortation to walk in grace. You want more grace? Then give from the abundant supply he has given to you. Let no bitter root grow that causes you to fall short of grace (Heb 12:15).

Jesus spoke words the whole world needs to hear. The genius of Jesus was that he could speak to crowds of people and meet everyone – the self-righteous and the hungry – at their point of need.

It’s a mistake to dismiss the words of Jesus as irrelevant or old covenant or pre-cross. If it’s in the Bible it’s useful for training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16). The words of Jesus either reveal the self-righteousness that leads to death or the Christ-righteousness that causes you to reign in life!

The followers of Jesus still know that he has the words of eternal life!

Here is the link below if anyone is interested in looking at the questions. I often learn from those questions as they are usually common ones that we all may have. Bless you!

This article sums it up pretty well after the cross concerning "forgiveness" when Jesus put into motion the New Covenant.

As Is aid - if people want to believe differently - go for it. I won't slander you nor fill my posts with malice toward you.

The Lord bless you. All is well. We have a great salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ and a good, good Father!

nah

what you love is attention and being right

you are wrong and your gospel, because it certainly is NOT the gospel of Jesus, is the preaching of hyper charismatics who have left the course and veered off into the Disneyland of foolishness

frankly, you really start to remind me of that old song by Carly Simon only with reference to you leaving Jesus

2 timothy 4:1-4 "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

another false accusation by G7

you use the word slander when there is no slander

three blind mice could read what you wrote and come to the same conclusion that I did

you CONSTANTLY do this. you flip what you wrote that causes someone to respond and give evidence of the false gospel you preach...I say false because anyone discounting the words of Jesus because it was part of the old covenant and therefore not binding, is deceived...and you backpeddle or try to backpeddle, out of what you wrote

this we don't need to forgive to be forgiven is utter crap

when you do not need to forgive, is when you come to Christ for salvation. thereafter, YOU NEED TO GROW UP and exhibit HIS life and forgive others AS JESUS SAID

it seems EVERYONE but you knows this

the thank you Jesus at the end of your post is fooling NO ONE and certainly not Jesus

you cannot thank Jesus while discounting His words. you seem to think that if you post vapid praises to Someone you don't actually believe in, that you will fool us

ain't working. you are preaching another Jesus
**You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to sevenseas again.**

I agree!

Not understanding the new creation in Christ and the truth that Jesus has taken away all sin can be confusing especially with religion "demanding changes". It can cause us to be ship-wrecked in our faith but the Lord is always faithful to us to reveal His true self to all of us.

Personally I am vehemently against all forms of sinning as they all bring destruction of some sort to us while on this earth - especially the one of unbelief in Christ's finished work on the cross.

I don't see any difference in sinning by living a homosexual lifestyle to having malice, bitterness, having outbursts of anger, being deceitful, being jealous and envious and the slandering of others in the body of Christ. All of these, as well as all the works of the flesh bring about death to us in this life. They are contrary to the life off Christ in us now.

Here is my view on sin and it's affects on us and on how the Holy Spirit transforms us as we behold the glory ( goodness ) of our Lord as in a mirror. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

Sin changes our perspective on things and causes us to not look at our Father in the right light of who He truly is. ( The same as Adam and Eve did when they hid from Him even though He was still coming to visit with them and He still took care of them )

Sin also affects our ability to have harmonious relationships with others and it also distorts our view of others as well as ourselves. Sin is deceitful.

We chose to live holy lives because we are just being who we truly are in Christ - not to maintain right standing with God or that their loving Father will throw them into hell. if they don't grow up in Him like they can if they are fed the proper nutrients of His love and grace.

This living good holy lives creates right relationships with people, it will not give our enemy an influence in our lives and it is a good witness to the world.

It reveals the true heart of our loving Father and Lord to show others in this hurt and dying world their love and grace towards them.

Your true identity is not defined by your struggles, mistakes, or sinful actions. These are all confined to the flesh and are the works of the flesh as Paul said. Who you are is defined by your new birth in Christ. You are who you are by His grace and life in you!

Behavioral issues are usually the result of trying to live under the law in some form - such as the false doctrine of "sinless perfection in the flesh" or by trying to "mimic the teachings of Jesus". Only His life in manifestation brings true transformation by the Holy Spirit.

This "lose your salvation" false doctrine discourages believers and brings fear and hopelessness to them as they struggle in the flesh with some things. It distorts our view of our Father and Lord.

This causes them to have their faith ship-wrecked because they feel condemned and don't know how to walk by the spirit yet nor are they taught the gospel of the grace of God in Christ properly in order to grow up in Him.

Once you understand you are completely accepted and sin free forever in Jesus in your inner man created in righteousness and holiness - and that this is your permanent state for all eternity in Christ - the behavioral issues will fall off of our lives like dead leaves.

The "sap" of His life in and through us transforms us outwardly by the Holy Spirit as we behold the glory ( goodness ) of the Lord Jesus as in a mirror. We see all the goodness that He has already done for us and we also see ourselves in Him as one spirit with the Lord. 2 Cor. 3:17-18

I maintain that the preaching and teaching of the love and grace of God in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ brings true righteousness which is His alone and there will be deeds of His life manifested in us if we are fed Christ Himself and His righteousness to us.

He has cleansed our hearts by faith and now we are to walk from this new heart in Christ.

As we have received Him - so we walk in Him. Col. 2:6. It is all by grace through faith in what Christ has already done.

I believe in what I said here too. Beholding the glory/goodness of the Lord as in a mirror transforms us. The true Christian life is exciting and a wonderful adventure in getting to know Him and His love and grace towards us.
