Can you give an example of where guns have been used to resist what the powers choose to legislate in modern times? Are they like a way of thinking that one day you are going to group together like a pitchfork mob? If they wanted your guns they would have your guns.
All of you talk about not using guns for violence and yet at the same time condone guns for violence.
And at the same time, from the very start of the thread, people come up with absurd justifications for how they cause death but its ok because its less death than.... I can see why from the outside, many Americans seem to have a screw lose (except to their own self), just like they would let a bullet lose if someone shouted 'tyranny' and they snapped into place, and would quite willingly commit genocide, based on their own agenda to keep their guns. Not anything else. Just to keep their guns. Not for the benefit of human kind. Just their own selfish intention to keep their guns that they have grown so accustomed to they can't imagine life ever being without them. I can't imagine what that crazy world has got to be like. But I can imagine what having power and then having that power taken away might feel like, so I get that.
I watched some videos on far left and far right America, and the left definitely seems a lot saner. But if you are right wing you appear sane to yourself and you cannot see how absurd your own beliefs are. I saw videos on militias who are 'protecting the 2nd amendment should anything happen' but what I see is people with a hobby trying to be soldiers. It was quite laughable really.
If soldiers come for your guns good luck using your guns against their guns. How much does your military spend on weapons compared to you? It just some paranoia trip when I hear people going on and on about the 2nd amendment, it is like some old tradition that people can't move out of. You are basically born with guns, and therefore they are a part of your spiritual make up, whether it makes you slightly crazy or not, it appears crazy from the outside looking in.
Disarming a population is the first step in assuring they then have no real or effective means of resisting ANYTHING the Powers That Be choose to legislate. Our founders understood that so clearly that Arms was the very second stipulation they made. It is what freed us from England.
