dont worry i dont get mad on the internet u see.

many many people agree with me that christians will continue to have a struggle between the flesh and spirit u see....
Of course they will. But what a Spirit filled Christian will not be is in BONDAGE to sin like he was before he was born again. There is a difference. A big difference.

You are showing me you are not listening to a thing I have said, but you are stuck in whatever you have been taught.

I am in romans 8, I have preached over and over in all these law threads that romans 8 is the means by which we overcome sin and are obedient people

You However must think romans 7 has no bearing on you, to which the only possible response one can make to you is

1. You are sinless
2. You do not understand romans 7 and what sin is.
This is the usual response to anyone who dare suggest they are not in a Romans 7 relationship with sin. The person living a Romans 7 relationship with God/ sin either is not born of the Spirit yet, or has not received any good teaching about the grace of God in overcoming sin through the Spirit.

I am just stating a fact.

Are you sinless? If not. Then romans 7 is active for you.

Romans 7 is NOT about overcoming, that is romans 8, Romans 7 is about our reality. Romans 8 is the victory.

Saying romans 7 is not active for all believers is dangerous.

So how have you been? Its been awhile..

The great paradox. And this is what many, many believers end up doing.

They are born-again and deceived into thinking that their battle is sin. They focus on sin. They 'fight' their sin and even 'win' some battles. and they are in greater bondage to sin now than before they were born-again.

They spend a lifetime of worthless works trying to clean up something that was not redeemed and will NOT get better. The flesh.

And spent very little time in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit.

Paul said in Romans 8 that if you are still in the flesh then you do not have the Spirit. And if you do not have the Spirit then you do not belong to Christ.

If you by your own admission say you have a Romans 7 relationship with God then you have to honestly check to see if you are really in the faith. You can get mad and rationalize your condition, or you can check yourself. But just know that defensiveness is always a bad sign.
You have worded that first sentence wrong Mr. Ralph. We are no longer flesh when we are Spirit. And the Spirit of Christ is the truth of His Cross and ressurection from the dead. We believe this. The dunamis power is the baptism of Holy Spirit and gifts given to men.

In flesh means a natural man. Born into this world. Dead in sin through Adam, because we too are bent to sin. In Spirit means born into the body of Jesus Christ. A world so to speak, of righteousness. His body. We live, move, have our very being in Him. Alive unto God.

Complete identification with Jesus in all that He had on earth.

Our identity is our power on earth both materially, and spiritually.

That speech is almost the opposite of what Jesus said “Many” who call Him Lord, Lord, but He doesn’t know, in Matt. 7 23, would experience.

Your rendition it seems, would go like this.

Lord, Lord, didn’t we follow your instruction and not mans traditions? Didn’t we bring every thought into the obedience of Christ as your Apostles said to do? But your Jesus will declare, depart from me, you who strive to walk even as I walked.

I think Ralph believes in the Jesus of the Bible.

No, I'm not 'baptismal regeneration'. Water is figurative of repenting and acknowledging God, which in John's/ Jesus' time was done by being publicly water baptized, but water does not mean water baptism specifically. Paul encountered a group of this kind of 'believer'. He then baptized them in the Spirit.

Lot's of people hear the call of God and come to him without being born again.....yet. We know who these people probably are by the fact that they are still stuck in a Romans 7 relationship with God. They have responded to God's call with their lives but they don't have a spiritual relationship with Him. They're still 'in the flesh', which means they don't have the Spirit. They are not born again yet. It's not until they come to a Luke 18:13 place that they can receive the Spirit and fulfill the 'Spirit' part of 'water AND Spirit'. It seems few get to the Spirit part. And it's no surprise that it is these 'just short of the Spirit' people in the church that cause so much trouble.
Where do you get your info? Water represents physical birth (that which is born of Flesh) spirit represents spiritual birth (that which is born of Spirit is spirit)

If your not born again, Your not saved, your still dead in your sin. You have not experienced the washing of regeneration of Titus 3.

I thought it was a k-mart blue light special card????
I remember the K-Mart blue light specials. Sadly, the chain will no longer be in existence by the end of next year. Same goes for Sears which owns K-Mart. A couple of economic dinosaurs that going to soon be extinct. Ten years from now I predict that Walmart will be extinct also. They are top heavy in actual physical locations. They are trying to catch up with Amazon but they are carrying a lot of deadweight that they need to shed.

Pretty much spot on.

Trying to be our own Christ, even if we follow his example to the best of our abilities. Is still filthy rags to Him.

But to trust Christ and Christ's work alone for our salvation, we will know Him and He will know us.
