I don't think he's trolling. He just seems...like a small boy imitating his father at the breakfast table, pretending he's reading the newspaper. That's what he is like in spirit to me. I hope he stays and grows. I'm fond of him like a little brother.
I hope so too.

People are not absolutely spiritualy dead as Calvinists misinterpret the Scriptures. If man was absolutely spiritualy dead then we wouldn't read such things as this:
Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were there, their righteousness would save no one but themselves, says the Sovereign Lord .
Ezekiel 14:14 NLT

None are as blind as though who will not see. Both sides of this debate have shown you your grave errors, yet in your obstinance, you bow your back, lower your head, and plod onwards.

No. I reject your putting words into Jesus mouth. Jesus never said man has to be spiritually animated like a robot.
This will be quick and I don't know if you will be able to follow it yet but...

God made everything to bring forth of its own kind. On the day Adam and eve died, they could only then bring forth of their own kind-the spiritually dead. On the day they ate, they died.

This is far too abbreviated but its a...start.

You are misinterpreting those verses you posted because none of them say man is absolutely spiritually dead. I have shown you from the OT only 4 examples of people who were not absolutely spiritually dead and you ignored them.
Nekros, which is ‘dead’ in Ephesians 2:3, means a dead corpse. That was the state of the lost prior to the new birth.

Job, " I KNOW my redeemer LIVES!"

Not will some day live. I think it's fair to say OT redeemed are saved by believing in Christ, same as us.
I agree, but the Bible never says the OT people were regenerated.

Another glaring error and inconsistency of DevotiontoBible is this:

He is using Abel to prove he was saved. Then he says there are none in the OT who were saved.

Um...

See the problem?
Well, I believe he believes like many who say the OT saints were saved, but not indwelt with God’s Spirit. Like someone stands righteous before God, being devoid of His Spirit. I think some in my church hold to this ideology.

He most certainly alluded to this fact. People in the OT were saved, born from above, and Nicodemus should have know this fact, John 3:10 &c.

One flaw that exposes people like you is you say OT saints weren't saved, then misquote Joshua 24:15 as a gospel invitation to them to be saved. LOL!!!!!!!!!

Anyhow, it appears you should change your moniker to DevotiontoPelagius. :D
See, now you are putting words in my mouth. I never said that. The Bible never says OT people were regenerated. That couldn't happen until after Christ died on the cross and rose again.

So, the OT saints of God we’re saved w/o being regenerated?

Thats not even remotely possible.

You REALLY need to get off of here and have the Ethiopian Eunuch’s attitude, find a solid biblical teacher, and ask him to guide you through the scriptures.

That's a deep subject theologically. Some believe slightly different things on it. I think a good place to start is with the verse p4 gave for us to consider. Jesus expected Nicodemus, being a teacher, to know that a man must be born from above. He wondered at how a teacher did not understand this.

I wish so badly I could stay and talk with you guys. I always have to leave when I don't want to! But p4 can give you more verses that will show there WERE men in the OT who spoke by the Spirit in them.

Hope to talk with you more later. I have enjoyed meeting you.

Nekros, which is ‘dead’ in Ephesians 2:3, means a dead corpse. That was the state of the lost prior to the new birth.
In its context it doesn't mean absolutely spiritually dead and unable to do anything pleasing to God. It means in our human nature we couldn't stop ourselves from sinning:

Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.

Again, dead is dead. You go to a cemetery and see all ppl buried there are dead.

The lost are all just as spiritually dead as the other. Whether dead physically or spiritually, there are not some more dead than the others. There are not some less dead than others, either.

PLEASE, seek help.

(i haven't been following this thread)

you need to keep reading.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Eph 2:4-7)

see Who is doing these things, and for whose glory?

Have you ever actually read the Bible yourself or only commentaries?

I am not even going to dignify this question with an answer to your stupid question.

You should be ashamed of yourself, but you’re smug in your stance.
