Nice to see so many posts on this thread and glad to at least get us all to reading the Bible.
I'm still wishing you'd read the Bible. Just reading the beginning of Job would tell you Ellis lied, but you won't even go that far.

Thank you Bruce., you may no longer be here on CC but your posts are. You may have moved on to other things but your helpful words remain to uplift and encourage many.
Is this what you mean about "different understanding of scripture?"
Banned = moved on to other things?

"Banned" means forcibly removed. And that is about how you deal with scripture too. If what you want it to say isn't what it says, you force it to mean that.

Banned is banned, not "move on to other things." Satan visiting God to find the guidelines of how he could attack Job is seeking permission, not "
Satan didn’t ask for permission to go after Job because he didn’t need permission."

I don't expect to her to have it all figured out. If any one person does think that, they are surely deceived. Jesus didn't say we would be known for being his disciples by how well we argue or defend ourselves or even by how well we know the Word. Satan knows the bible too. It is by our love for one another. If you believe you have the "truth" on the subject, are you "speaking it in love"?
I find this interesting in two ways:
1. The assumption that no one has it all figured out, and yet he had it all figured out. Who was speaking truth and who wasn't. Who was loving and who wasn't.
2. That he came and voluntarily left after asking for friendships. Very short friendship.

Where do people get the idea that love means agreeing with someone. God loves us but does he agree with us all the time? Certainly not
I... agree.

Have you ever heard this saying?

In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Love
You have come and gone, but this is for every new person who comes along.

I agree.

One of the Essentials is the Bible.

Joan and WoFers do not consider what it says essential.

Thus, no unity.

Said in love!

I kind of thought the same thing, but tried to give him a chance, anyhow...but to me it is really odd how there were at least two people, I saw, that started out with their first and maybe only posts on this thread:confused:

I wondered if it was a banned person or someone just making up "socks" or extra accounts...Oh well, I doesn't really matter, but it is a little odd.

I hope no one will be throwing stones at her, personally...but the Original Post and this false doctrine does need to be killed and buried under a big pile of stones...Just saying...

I'm not sure I would strictly label them as core issues. I would say its more...a little crooked side road that I don't want to see anyone go down because it leads to a dead end and to grief and heartache when you appear to be just one of those people that God won't heal, that God doesn't make monetarily self-sufficient, that He doesn't give great ease in life to.

If I can help anyone to not go down that crooked side road and to instead struggle through the difficult things we are meant to struggle through with Him, in mind but also in body sometimes, to GET that true trust, I'll keep trying.
Actually, it is no crooked side road. It's an out-and-out, through-and-through, big, fat, pus-filled lie!

"Satan didn’t ask for permission to go after Job because he didn’t need permission." Paul Ellis (as agreed with by all the WoFers on this thread.)

This has gone way beyond if the Bible says we will be physically healed. This is nothing short of one Jupiter-sized lie. It's just that WoFers have to keep reverting straight back to the only god they trust -- the one that told them if they act and live just right, they can force him to heal them physically. It's all they want out of their god, so that is their focus at the expense of the real God.

Joni Tada Erickson had to get back to God after she fell for that lie way back in the days of Kathryn Kuhlman. How hard must it be to be told God would heal you from being a quadriplegic? You were healthy and 17 years old, and then you couldn't even lift an arm, so you had to go through all the struggle of figuring out how you fit again. And in the midst of that, you're told you don't fit in. You have to be healed. And you believe that lie and seek out the most famous healer in the world, only to be intentionally ignored because the spotlight ignored you in the section of people in wheelchairs. It has to be like losing the ability of your limbs twice!

And yet, the Lord was able to heal her from that lie with a line in the gospel about Jesus being told the other way was where all the sick people were, yet Jesus did not turn that way. That was it for Joni! The moment she realized Jesus was not about healing all the sick in this lifetime. That was her healing moment!

And then there was Young Lynn. Many Christians told me God told them that Mom would be miraculously healed. One was an intern in the hospital she was in at that time, so he believed it enough to take a friend and lay hands on her. She had a form of cancer that was 100% guaranteed to kill her. (She thought they were sweet young men, but she didn't really buy into it.)

When she died two months later, I wanted to ask them the obvious question, yet I was whisked back to Dad's house 1500 miles away, so have never been able to ask them. I tried to stick with the Lord with all my might, but I had only been a believer for three months before Mom died. I've never been mighty. I also didn't know the Lord could comfort me, because no one was around to tell me that, or show me that.

SIX years thinking God lied to me, ending in a stupid decision that caused me to be raped. (My pig-sty moment.)

No way, no how, am I ever going to let someone fall for these lies! Way too much pain! And way, way too much wasted time away from the Lord! And why? Because the liars are still thinking they can force God's hand if they just act the right way and spread the lie!

I was once just like Job when it came to my thoughts about God's nature. In my desire and good intention to understand how God could be sovereign and in control I had to (reason out for myself) why if God was good and loving and in control., how come so many good people and babies were dying and sick?? That had to mean He did it since He is in control. But I was deceived by the deceiver.

I'm so thankful today there is no confusion in my mind anymore about the goodness and steadfastness of God in Christ. That He is not a God who changes. There is no "shadow of turning" with Him. He is not evil one day and kind another day. He is always the same and wants us to count on His goodness so we can always have a certain and sure expectation of goodness coming from Him at all times.

I realize not every believer has this. And even many believers will be annoyed at this. Many have taken the words of Job as an interpretation of who God is. Job was voicing his own ideas of God and there are times in the Bible when men and woman say things about God that are their own ideas that have been recorded. We have to allow the Word of God by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide and interpret these verses in light of the other Bible verses about the goodness and security in God.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd who gave His life for the sheep. He is the One who always leads us beside the still waters. If we don't get to the still waters it isn't because He wanted us to go elsewhere. We deal with the world., the flesh and the devil. They are always going to try and sway us to go "elsewhere"

The Bible is clear who the one is who seeks to kill us..., steal from us.... and destroy us. It is not God., it is the devil. He is the father of lies and the lie about God sending evil our way is a biggie. The Bible says goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Those other things that are evil do not come from God but from the accuser of the brethren.

Am learning how to keep the topic of God's love and grace from getting side tracked., Just keep posting the truth regardless and not get into defensive mode. Here is a post written before and I realize this same thing has been going on here in the forums for years. I've seen that it takes a life time to learn how to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. To remember not to forget. We all have a long way to go.

I've been keeping up with the politics of our country as our new President Trump has come into office. I'm amazed how people are so ready to argue and engage in topping what another person says and soon they get into insults and anger and frustration while believing they actually know the motives of the other person they are disagreeing with. As if they know one another's heart motives.

Many are willing to shut others up at all costs as if their actions could stop these people from thinking differently. I've noticed it is no different here on CC at times and I endeavor to not slip into this way of thinking despite how strongly I feel on the topic. The highest truth is to love one another as Christ has loved us.

It is so easy for our flesh to get into this kind of disagreement. I feel my own motives at times are not based on love and I have to check myself. It has to do with pride and then pride turns into prideful anger and all kinds of other sins based on rearing up our own flesh and opinions. This is much different than having a conversation of different views. We don't need to argue because God is our Father and His will is stronger and better than any argument people can have.

We can rest in the truth Jesus came to give us and while we do that we know there is no reason to rush in and argue and shut others up who may disagree with us. There is rest even in times of our major disagreements as believers. Unlike the world, we don't have to strive to win because Jesus already won the battle. We believers are charged with walking His victory out by faith. We can have peace even in this. Because I know my calling as a believer is to love the people I come in contact with first and foremost here.

I've noticed when I've submitted to Jesus when coming to these forums, my need to be heard is not so keen as it first was. I can leave the rest with Him just like I do when going out into the world and witnessing for Him. It is the Holy Spirit that changes minds not my words of persuasion.

So in that Spirit., I hope to continue in discussion here on CC. Blessings to all who seek truth and may we find love, peace and joy as we study the Bible and magnify Jesus love in all we do.

You're right. I sometimes give too much leeway. I'm more recently starting to see I can't but I'm also more recently like this new member who wishes for gentleness.

And you're also right that reposting all the posts of a banned member is flirting with disaster and the mods probably won't like it.

I also have the problem of sometimes just stopping reading the posts of people who are proselytizing for WOF. I eventually stopped really reading Bruce's posts because it was just the same pamphlet over and over again. That could be a mistake on my part or it could be that its not what God has given me to tackle. Or a combination. Not sure.

Joanie, I have to say, I find your views a little schizophrenic.

For example, I'm pretty sure you believe Revelation, and end Times doctrine that is pretty close to mine.

And although it CANNOT be said often enough that GOD is the one in control, Adam ceded the title deed to the Earth to satan when he sinned and fell.

We know satan has the title deed for several reasons. 1. Satan tempted Jesus with the title deed WITHOUT GOING TO THE CROSS. If satan didn't have the deed then his temptation would NOT have been a temptation at all. It would be like me 'tempting" you by offering to give you ownership of Manhattan Island for a buck. You wouldn't be tempted at all.

2 Well AFTER Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension John was caught up to Heaven and wept convulsively because no one could open the Title deed.

Now I know we have people here that believe the Title deed has ALREADY been opened by Jesus. And some of those people think WE need to make the world better and better and THEN Jesus will return. I'm pretty sure you don't believe that.

But I'm confused as to why, since I think you believe satan still has the deed, you ALSO believe we won't be persecuted by him in MANY diverse ways? Especially since Jesus TOLD us we would be persecuted.

Now I believe we are, but that God will use the afflictions and persecutions for His Glory and our ultimate good.

Do I have your Eschatology right in that regard, and if so, how do you square the 2 positions you hold?

I'm a pre tribulation rapture lady.

And although it CANNOT be said often enough that GOD is the one in control, Adam ceded the title deed to the Earth to satan when he sinned and fell.
I see in the Bible (and posted already) that God is in control but He gave us a free will and He gave the earth to Adam and he gave it over to satan and sin entered in. satan took the earth by default and we humans have been suffering ever since.

Agree. Jesus had to save us from our sins. satan is the god of this world... 1John 5:19

No., I don't believe that you are correct. Jesus won the battle and freed us from the power of sin but NOT the presence of sin. We still deal with tribulation coming from 3 places.. 1. The world.. 2. The flesh..3. The devil. Not from God. He sent Jesus and saved us from the power of sin in our lives but the only way to walk in the power is when we do it by the Spirit and not in the power of our flesh.

But I'm confused as to why, since I think you believe satan still has the deed, you ALSO believe we won't be persecuted by him in MANY diverse ways? Especially since Jesus TOLD us we would be persecuted.

That's because I do not believe we won't be persecuted by satan...the world and the flesh.. WE ARE DAILY. But Jesus tells us we have the victory when we walk by faith and not by sight. When we walk in the spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. We hold the ground Jesus already gained for us by faith in His finished work for us. (not by our works for us)

Now I believe we are, but that God will use the afflictions and persecutions for His Glory and our ultimate good.

God doesn't send us confusion, sickness or death. Those things come from 3 places... world-flesh-devil. God takes the things meant for evil.... and in Christ has made us over comers IN Him. By faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross., we are MORE than conquerors through Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us.

Do I have your Eschatology right in that regard, and if so, how do you square the 2 positions you hold?
My Eschatology is Jesus took the power of sin out of our lives and that we no longer have to be at sins mercy. Yes, we are in the presence of sin in this world but we are not under it's power any longer. Jesus has taken the power of the devil away so we are no longer under his foot either. But many of us will not experience this freedom because we insist on seeing life through the eyes of the flesh and not the Spirit and by our born again spirit man. We have been made actual new creations in Christ.

We only have our new imperishable bodies to get. Our flesh is the shell and we are not our flesh. We are new creations in Christ with earth suits sort of speak. Our bodies are a shell. But we have His seed in us that needs to be watered by the Word. We have already died and our life is hid with Jesus. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father in His imperishable body. Jesus is the first of many brethren. He came to earth and became one of us. He is sitting in heaven with His imperishable body like the ones we will be getting.

We have daily access to the power of the Holy Spirit living and moving in our lives when we walk by faith and in the Spirit. I only began to learn this a few years ago. I never knew how to walk in the Spirit so my old way of seeing life (old manner of life and living) was how I lived and saw Jesus. We must be transformed each day by the renewing of our minds. That is a job we do IN COOPERATION with the HolySpirit. He will not force us to do this.

Why don't we Christians have victory in our lives today? Because we give the ground Jesus died to give us over to the devil because we believe the lie that we are sinners and not sons. We allow the enemy to condemn us and lie to us and we willingly believe God is not for us but against us. The lie satan told in the garden to Adam and Eve is still going strong today. The only thing the devil can do to us is lie to us. And if we don't resist him., he doesn't have to flee. Many of us have believed his lies and he has access to our daily lives.

The part I bolded in your post is where all you Word Faith people are 100% wrong. Healing of our bodies was NOT covered in the atonement. If the statement is read in context Isa 53:5d, it doesn’t say that at all. If it is read in context of the book of Isaiah, it certainly doesn’t say that at all!!

I have been through this over and over, and the “pull verses out of context” crowd simply cannot accept that the proper way to read the Bible, as with anything, is to read the verses in context of the passage, the chapter, the book, the testament, the whole Bible and in light of Jesus Christ.

First, I am certain God can heal whoever he wants. Never limit God in that way! Nothing is impossible with God. He does heal.

BUT what he does not do - is heal on demand. We do not “claim” healing. We seek God’s will, and see if it is his will for us to be healed. Sometimes the answer is, yes, sometimes no, sometimes maybe or wait a while. So, please do not say I do not believe in healing. I have seen healings, verified by a doctor. I am going to post something I wrote on this whole topic of whether healing is in the atonement, based on reading the passage correctly. I probably need to start a thread on the whole topic of context. Perhaps when I am feeling better.

Healing is NOT and NEVER will be our due! It is a gift of God, out of his mercy and grace. That is why I get so frustrated and angry with people who have been sucked into this horrible exegetical lie, and refuse to see the obvious.

As for people being vicious, it is because we tell you to look at the Scriptures, and you post word studies from Strong’s, whch is a backwards KJV concordance. If you want to do word studies, at least use Bauer (BDAG) which is the top Greek lexicon in the world, or Brown-Driver-Briggs, the top Hebrew Lexicon in the world.

Others post addresses for Bible verses, not even the whole verse. Context is ignored, the Bible is added to - stuff like Job lived before Adam. And that is directly on you, Stones! That is a pure New Age lie! You are getting sucked into a maelstrom of lies. The more you misinterpret God’s word, the faster you go downhill and believe extra biblical lies. What is wrong with just sticking to the Bible?? It is rich, full, and you can never exhaust its depth. If you have to go so far beyond what God says in his word, are you truly anointed? The Holy Spirit will never lead us down such a wrong path, if we are truly following him, and not some lying, whispering demon. Beware the spirit of New Age evil!
They're birds of a feather, Angela, birds of the same feather.

Well stated. I am just surprised that JM has not already been banned for promoting Hyper-Grace nonsense.
Just do like they do in the NBW's thread. Everybody reports a person at the same time to imply guilt, but in this case she really is.

worse

she is copy/pasting from another person who actually IS banned who basically started the entire hyper grace event

I can't believe that is allowed, but I am not surprised she is doing that
