greek words for Lord's Day- kyriake hemera. greek word for Sabbath - sabbaton . two different words, with the words for Lord's Day being the only time they are used in the N. T.
Correct, lets look at the word meanings and how they do not change that meaning that the Sabbath is the Lord's Day as written in Mattew 12:8 or Mark 2:27-28......

Revelations 1:10
10, I was in the Spirit on the Lord's (G2960) day, (G2250) and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.

STRONGS
Lord's meaning G2960 κυριακός kuriakos (kï-riy-a-kos') adj.belonging to the Lord (Jehovah or Jesus).
[from G2962] KJV: Lord's Root(s): G2962 Lord κύριος kurios (kï '-riy-os) n.
1. lord, supreme in authority, the one in control.
2. (also, by implication) sir or master (as a title showing respect for others).
3. (in Hebrew) Adonai, The Lord God of Israel (which is actually Yahweh God of Israel - see Exodus 5:1 and 120 other occurrences).
4. (in Hebrew) Yahweh. Outside the Hebraic Scriptures, rabbis rendered the name “Yahweh” as “LORD” or as “GOD” with the intent to keep this name utterly holy and away from any hint or speck of desecration. This practice continues fervently to this day.
5. (of ownership) an owner (especially of an animal or object).

The same Greek word in Rev 1:10 for DAY IS used in other places nad once again it is referring to God's Sabbath (Luke 4:16; 13:14; 16; 14:15; John 5:9; Acts:13:14)

Matthew 12:8
8, For the Son of man is Lord (G2962) even of the sabbath day.

STRONGS
Lord meaning G2962 κύριος kurios (kï '-riy-os) n.
1. lord, supreme in authority, the one in control.

As you can see above the Words used have the same meaning of application depending on how they are used. The meaning of Lord/Lord's in both Matthew 12:8 and Rev 1:10 is of OWNERSHIP of the DAY and the context is singular meaning that it is referring to a specific day.

Which day is the Lord's day? No need to guess. The scriptures make it very clear.

Matthew 12:8
8, For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day

Which day is the Sabbath day?

Exodus 20
8, Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
9, Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
10, But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD THY GOD: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and MADE IT HOLY

.................

Now where in the scriptures does it say that the "LORD'S DAY" is referring to Sunday? Woops there is no scripture. You cannot prove something that is not there. There is NO scripture that says the "LORD'S DAY" is referring to Sunday.

The "LORD'S DAY" = The SABBATH DAY = The SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK (Matthew 12:8; Ex 20:8-11)

Yep it seems God's Word is very clear the Lord's Day is the Sabbath day? There is NO scripture in God's WORD that says the Lord's DAY is Sunday.

Many like to keep SUNDAY because of their Catholic heritage.

John, a jewish man who knew the Sabbath from his youth, would have most likely used the word Sabbath if that is what he meant. but, he used a completely different word, for a different day.
Not really. Jesus did not declare that he was God or CREATOR and maked of the SABBATH until sometime through His ministry and John would NOT have KNOWN who the Messaiah was. Knowing that Jesus was the Creator of the World would have been a revelation to John as it would have been to all mankind.

.......................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

You twisted Dan_473's words. When it was explicitly pointed out that you did so; you denied it. nothing you have said here changes that!
MarcR, you are indeed a funny one.

Now your just making things up because you do not know the scriptures. This is sad for you.

Please if you disagree with what I posted and shared from God's Word then show me how my post was not correct. You have not because you do not know God's Word because you choose to close your eyes to see and your ears to hear so God can help you.

Those who CONTINUE in UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

Just be careful my friend.

People post what they believe the word of God is saying.
Therefore to them they know what scripture is saying.

The point I want to make is that they are not making it up.
As for you, you are not making it up either.
That's what you genuinely believe.

Hi Bill, very true.

This does not mean however that if someone is promoting things that are not true or biblical and it can keep them out of God's KINGDOM we are to sit back and let them perish.

God is longsuffering toward us not willing any should perish and that all should come to repentance and be saved (2 Pet 3:9).

If your brother is drunk and sleeping on a railway track and the train is coming you have a duty of LOVE to wake him up lest when the Lord comes he may require his blood from your hands (please see; Ezek 3:17-21)

Nice to chat with you Bill.

You twisted Dan_473's words. Your doing so was pointed out to you! NOW YOU DENY IT! Perhaps I was too gentle when I accused you of intellectual dishonesty. I will correct that now:

YOU ARE AN UNMITIGATED LIAR!

Now can you recognize it as true?

I don't see anything funny about it at all! You don't seem able to recognize the difference between truth and fantasy.

That is sad but I am far more concerned that you and those who are like-minded are not allowed to lead others astray.

I recognize that this might be considered an ad-hominum attack if the lie in question were not clearly pointed out.

However when you persist in denying it after it has been demonstrated there is no other way to deal with it.

This is a great example of how you take a small section out of CONTEXT from a post that does not say what you are saying to try to make it say something it it not. This is what you do with the Word of God.

Now let's add the rest of the post to show the CONTEXT of what you are posting so all can see .....

All I share here is God's WORD. If you think God's Word is dishonest please take it up with God. They are his Word not mine.

When you combine Gal 4:4 with Romans 3:19-23 it is very clear what the meaning is....

Romans 3
19,
Now we know that what things soever the law said, it said to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20, Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21, But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22, Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and on all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

The scripture says the woman was under the law (sinner) not Jesus. So Jesus was born of sinners but did not sin. This is why he is our perfect sacrifice to those who believe.

Rom 2:12
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; ALL who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN WILL be LOST and NOT Enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

To say that Jesus was "UNDER THE LAW" is the same as saying Jesus was a sinner because in the context of Romans 3 this is what the scriptures are talking about.

Disagree? Please share God's WORD and not your opinion. Calling people names because you do not know God's WORD is what those do who do not have the Word of God.

Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it. UNBELIEVERS have no part in God's KINGDOM.

ALL who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN WILL be LOST and NOT Enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

No it is the context of the passage "As" is direct Comparison. So it is A Ceasing from work like GOD did from HIS. It is the calling to those who entered in their rest (the Gospel rest in Jesus in GOD) to cease from their work AS GOD did. GOD ceased from HIS work on the Seventh Day. So we in harmony with Christ and the FATHER cease from our work on the Seventh Day which is the Day HE hallowed and blessed. If HE hallowed a Day who are we to unhallow it?

Mounce writes in His concise Greek English dictionary in regards to the word rest in verse 9:
G4520
σαββατισμός sabbatismos 1x
properly a keeping of a sabbath;

"Remaineth" in the KJV in the Greek is define as follows by Mounce :
G620
ἀπολείπω apoleipō 7x
to leave, leave behind;

It is in the presence tense. The rendering of the Greek to English looks something like this, "therefore is being left a Sabbath keeping to the people of GOD"
So What is the Sabbath keeping?

GOD tells us in verse 10, "For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his."

may be your answere is to long and I do not understand.

1 you said you not kill sabbath violator because you call to love, am I correct?

2 than you say, you not kill sabbath violator because the verse that instruct to kill sabbath violator is only for Jews, am I correct?

so wich one you think correct 1 or 2
Hi Jackson,

No, both of your two points are not correct because we are living in the NEW COVENANT now and not the OLD COVENANT. So we do not kill the commandment violator (this applied not only to the Sabbath but most of God's 10 Commandments in the OLD Covenant under the CIVIL laws of Israel for open sin).

If you live a life of KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN in the NEW COVENANT, then you reject God's free GIFT of GRACE.

The WAGES OF SIN is still death for those who reject the GIFT of GOD's dear son, but in the NEW COVENANT the death penalty will only be carried out at the 2nd coming of Jesus.

yep dear, because we late living in the new covenant, we follow Jesus rule

Matt 11

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Here is the rule, any time you come to Him, He will give you rest or sabbath, not only once a week.

real rest, not false or hypocritical rest.

You are making up your own definition of what the rest is Yahshua/Jesus offers. None have yet entered into that rest,

Matt 11:27-30, "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. And no one fully knows the Son except the Father, neither does anyone fully know the Father, except the Son and those whom YHWH wills the Son to reveal. Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light"

because it is still future:

2 Thessalonians 1:5-10, “Clear evidence of the righteous judgment of יהוה, in order for you to be counted worthy of the reign of יהוה, for which you also suffer, since יהוה shall rightly repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give you who are afflicted rest with us when the Master יהושע is revealed from heaven with His mighty messengers, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know יהוה, and on those who do not obey the Good News of our Master יהושע Messiah, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Master and from the esteem of His strength, when He comes to be esteemed in His set-apart ones and to be admired among all those who believe in that Day, because our witness to you was believed.”

Revelation 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven saying to me: Write: Blessed are the dead, the ones dying in the Messiah from now on! Yes, says the Spirit: because they will rest from their labors, and their works do follow them!"

Also you might want to look into what Yahshua was quoting...

Mat 11:27-30, "All things have been delivered to Me by My Father.

Jeremiah 6:16-17, “Thus said יהוה, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and find rest for yourselves.” But they said, We do not walk in it.’ “And I raised up watchmen over you, and said, ‘Listen to a voice of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We do not listen.’

.................

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God.

Paul wrote: Gal 1:8-9
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
KJV

You are attempting to bring another gospel and in doing so you are according to Paul ACCURSED!

I feel no friendship for that which God regards as ACCURSED and as such as long as you follow Ellen G White, I cannot be your friend.

I have no interest in doing you harm; but I cannot befriend you either.

Again, you omit scripture.

Jon. 2:8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
the quote has to start somewhere
the chapter and verse markings were added later anyways

In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

*O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34*For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35*Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36*For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.

Goodness MarcR,

I share God's Word with you and this is all you can come up with? You can't address any of the scriptures I share with you so attack the messenger. Seems to be a pattern with you. I guess that is all you can do if God's Word is not on your side.

I follow no man or woman. I only follow God's Word. Here and elsewhere I only share the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God and the Gospel and this is what I share.

What he tells me in secret I must preach on the housetop. There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed come judgement day.

If you do not know and follow the Word you do not KNOW Jesus. You claim I preach another Gospel yet all I share is God's Word. You speak of yourself and it is only your words you share.

Please tell me what is it that I say that you believe is NOT the Word of God? If you cannot show me what it is that you believe it NOT the Word of God by the Word of God it is because there is no truth in you because it is written...

For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure to him.

You speak of yourself and do not have his spirit because it is written...

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

You resist God's Word in order to follow your Catholic tradition which has led many to break God's Commandments.

ALL who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN WILL be LOST and NOT Enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

Psalms 119:169 TAU. Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.
170 Let my supplication come before thee: deliver me according to thy word.
171 My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.
172 My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.
173 Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts.
174 I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.

IS. 58:
12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.

yes, amen to that!

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
