Paul said in Ephesians and titus that it is not by works, He NEVER SAID WORK OF The LAW. so if your trying to say paul only meant works of the law every time he said works would be false reasoning. not only this, God said through Moses in Gen that Abraham was saved because he believed, not because he did works. The law is not in context.
Eph. 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

This is talking about man's "works" vs. the Works God created for us to walk in. So EG, this agrees with Paul and James in that we are to deny our "works" (religious traditions, our own definition of "good deeds" etc.) and turn to God and "HIS" definition of "good works" which He created from the foundation of the world for us to walk in. Paul says the same thing in Romans 2.

Rom. 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law (That the Word which became Flesh created beforehand for us to "walk in") shall be justified.

So yes, when Paul says "works or Deeds" of the Law, he is speaking to the Levitical Priesthood "Laws of justification" which were to be in force until Jesus came. But every time he says "LAW" he is not speaking to the Levitical Priesthood.

As far as Abraham goes.

Gen. 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Paul in romans is talking to people tryign to add law to grace

In Romans he is speaking about justification of sins. Grace through Faith VS. Levitical Priesthood sacrificial "Works of the Law" that the Jews couldn't let go of. But without repentance there is no Grace.

"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

Can I create my own "works" to walk in? Or does repentance mean to turn from my "works" and be a "DOER" of the Work's the Word which became Flesh created beforehand for me to walk in.

James is talking to licentious people who BELIEVE, but HAVE NO FAITH, proven by the fact, they HAVE NO WORKS. (not that they had works at one time and now do not have works)
It seems James was saying what Jesus said.

Matt. 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

For instance, if I see a man who follows the instructions that the Word which became Flesh created beforehand for us to walk in. (Commandments of God) I will know their faith by their works, because as it is written "If you Love Me, Keep MY Commandments".

But if I see people who follow a religion which "Transgresses the Commandments by their own religious traditions ", I also know from the same Book what their "works" expose and how Jesus judged them. Is this not truth?

I agree with James, Be doers not just hearers. People who CLAIM to be saved, yet have NEVER DID EVEN 1 WORK. they are not saved period. (if they are hearers not doers. they TOO have never been saved)

But tp use James to say salvation can be LOST. is to take him out of context. and make him contradict paul
I agree, James isn't about losing Salvation, rather, understanding Salvation.

It seems Jesus addressed this as well.

Matt. 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

This is the same thing Eph. 2 was saying. These folks had works, they gave Jesus the credit for all their works, they certainly believed in their mind that they were "Saved".

But it appears they were doing their "OWN" works, and not the Works which the Word that became flesh created beforehand for them to walk in.

And the same Word which became Flesh put it this way before He became Flesh.

Jer. 6:16 Thus saith the LORD,(The Word which became Flesh in the person of Jesus) Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths,(That God prepared beforehand for us to walk in) where is the good way, (For we are created unto "Good Works")and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.

But they said, We will not walk therein.

How is this thinking dishonoring God or His Word? How is this thinking wrong, making me a lawyer or legalist, or Pharisee as I have been called over and over on this forum?

Wrong

This is paul saying these works we walk in will not saved us, We do them BECAUSE we are saved. But we are saved BY GRACE.

A man can do a work of God in the wrong attitude, and this work is a filthy rag, god does not get any glory. It is the power behind the works which makes it a work of God. not the work itself. Religious people do works which are considered of works of God all the time. (works of righteousness) yet again, Paul said we are not saved by these works but by Gods mercy. these works do not do them any good.. Proven by Jesus himself when these people tried to boast of those works, and jesus said depart, for he NEVER KNEW THEM.

That is something you workers do not comprehend.

alot of fluff. Been here done that with you.. Again, I just have no desire, you did not listen then, I doubt you will listen now.

also notice, you keep ignoring James 2 and the passage I am trying to discuss. which proves your real intent

If you think your works will save you, continue in them. Just do not expect other people to follow you.

The fact Jesus said there will be many (like you) who will say on that day, these are all my works. and Jesus will say depart for he NEVER KNEW THEM, is just to much to rusk to depend on self.

I will boast in God. You continue to boast in self. good luck with that.

I will depend on Christ and his faithfulness. ok?

John/Yahanan 15:5-16, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and letting My words; abide in you, you will ask what you will, and it will be done for you. In this is My Father glorified: when you produce much fruit; and in this way you become My disciples. Just as the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you; continue in My love. If you keep My Commands, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's Commands, and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be complete. This is My Command: Love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

Right there is the ANSWER that proves it is NOT Part of SALVATION. YOU ABIDE IN HIS LOVE. Salvation is what happens when we FIRST BELIEVE, and we ABIDE IN HIS LOVE, is what happens, AFTER SALVATION.

Hi E-g, Excellent post. People who add works to God's grace and His mercy are trying to, "Save Themselves", impossible, Jesus payed the full price for "all" of our sin, stop tying to pay your way into God's kingdom, Jesus did that for you already.

I agree any obedience to Him is a reflection of His love and guidance.

1 John 5:2-3, "By this we know that we love the children of Yah, when we love Yah and guard His commands. For this is the love for Yah, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy."

Exodus 20:6, “But showing love to thousands who love Me by keeping My Laws.”

John/Yahanan 14:15, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

However none have recieved salvation yet, salvation is eternal life, a eternal spirit body living in the Kingdom of YHWH...;

1 Corinthians 15:51-55, “See, I speak a secret to you: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible has to put on incorruption, and this mortal to put on immortality. And when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall come to be the word that has been written, “Death is swallowed up in overcoming. O Death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your overcoming?”

1 Peter 1:3-9, “Blessed be the Strength and Father of our Master יהושע Messiah, who according to His great compassion has caused us to be born again to a living expectation through the resurrection of יהושע Messiah from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, having been kept in the heavens for you, who are protected by the power of Yah through belief, for a deliverance ready to be revealed in the last time, in which you exult, even though for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by manifold trials, in order that the proving of your belief – much more precious than gold that perishes, and proven by fire – might be found to result in praise and respect and esteem at the revelation of יהושע Messiah, whom having not seen, you love; in whom you exult with unspeakable and esteemed joy, yet not seeing, but believing, obtaining the goal of your belief: a deliverance of lives.”

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

Matt 24:12-13, “And because of the increase in lawlessness, the love of many shall become cold. But he who shall have endured to the end shall be saved.”

Hebrews 10:36, “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of Yah you may receive what is promised.”

Hebrews 3:14, “For we have become partakers of Messiah if we hold fast the beginning of our trust firm to the end.”

For scripture interprets scripture, and nobody can preach or teach differently than what Yahshua already taught, and He Himself said He taught the doctrine of YHWH. What is promised to us is eternal life, so once again; once you have done the will of Yah in your life, in the resurrection you receive it. Not before.

James 1:12, "Blessed is the man who does endure trial, for when he has been proved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Master has promised to those who love Him."

amen, as scripture says, if there was a law which could possibly given where we could save ourselves (or maintain it) Jesus would never have had to come.

They say they love Jesus, But they mock him and declare his death was just part of the equation. when it was all.

You are setting up a false strawman saying all obedience to His Law is "self saving"

nonsense.

1 John 4:19, “We love Him because He first loved us.”

He gave Himself for me, I think I can submit to His commands.

Hi Magenta, so you post a fancy hand held mirror (nice mirror), in response to Seohce post on being judgmental and what do you get in return; a wall of cut and past bible verses with no commentary at all...what's that all about, is he just completely vain that he thinks he is the second coming of Christ or is that being to harsh, wow, so how is a person supposed to react to this kind of nonsense.
Way to harsh. If fact your statement borders on blasphemy, as to associate him somehow that he thinks he is the second coming of Christ.

Read his words. (they are from the holy bible - they may be instructive to you) Then use them or ignore them as you see fit.

Paul siad to be doers of the word also, as you said. But that was not the passage i was speaking about, and you know that, so you are tryin to be deceptive, because you know i was talking about the faith plus works passage. You failed.

They are all that way because to be honest with the scriptures their working for, I keep myself saved, self righteousness, Pharisee-ical dogma falls apart ate the seams....the bible is clear, so is the verb tense....

NOT by works of righteousness which we have done (past tense) but according to his mercy has he saved us (past tense)

Yet they constantly state that works are required to gain or keep salvation...both errors that fail the smell test of the one verse quoted....

Way to go, you kept it short enough, that we want to read it. The surest way to get US to ignore your posts is to make it LONGER, like you used to.

One more suggestion, is we want to see the BOOK, CHAPTER, and VERSE numbers with each quote, plus the Version Abbreviation. I have an easy way to insert that all with one quick copy/paste. AND THE LIBRARY IS A FREE DOWNLOAD, along with over 200 free books, that you can Choose from, including the Holman's Christian Standard Bible, which has quickly become my favorite English Bible and it was first published in 2004. Most of the books are Out of Copyright, older books, but there are many jewels to be found in them.

Here is the Site where you get your Free Version of the Software: https://www.wordsearchbible.com/ws-starter

You get 10 Free Books, PLUS over 200 from this other site: https://www.wordsearchbible.com/products/free

PLUS, they have Free VIDEO Tutorials under the HELP menu of the Library.

YES THEY ARE NOT GREEDY, but the still Copyrighted Books they have to charge for. BUT the HCSB has always been FREE. REMEMBER watch their SALES, on the opening Screen of the software, because they have frequent sales. I got most of the add on books that I wanted to buy for 1/2 price.

I will show you how convenient this tool really is. I will highlight ONE WORD in a Verse and IT WILL COPY/PASTE the entire passage, including BOOK, CHAPTER, and VERSE numbers, plus the Version abbreviation. I will only copy the word blessed:

Titus 2:13 (HCSB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] while we wait for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

SEE, it is that EASY.
NO PROBLEM BRO. THANKS AND GOD BLESS.

Actually he said no such thing and or even implied it...Try honesty for once.....instead of false allegations....same thing the Pharisees and Lawyers did to JESUS...no surprise there.....!

The problem is recurring in that those Scriptures are posted as if they do not apply to the person posting them as he sits in judgment of others. Each time they are reflected back to him, he greets them with more judgment and condemnation, making it seem obvious that he does not see himself in them at all. This is unfortunate, of course, but not really all that surprising.

sure.

No I have gone back and forth with EG many times. Im talking about his overall doctrine yours too.

tell me this, is this true? this was spoken by the Messiah?

John 5:28-30, “Do not be astonished at this-for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice, and will come forth. Those who have practiced righteousness will be resurrected in order to live; and those who have practiced wickedness will be resurrected in order to be damned.”

this may help some of my disagreements with you.

And you believe this means that those who keep the law as opposed to those who do not keep the law right? FALSE>..the law condemns all and NO ONE keeps it...

Therefore we conclude a man is justified BY FAITH without the WORKS/DEEDS OF THE LAW.....

Those who have exercised faith into Christ have worked righteousness....those who have trusted self and works over Christ have worked iniquity...see what JESUS states about the MANY that BOAST of what they have done in his name....

a. HE NEVER knew them
b. THEY worked iniquity

See how easy it is to dig through the theological MUD you guys embrace to find the truth

He that believes on the SON is NOT CONDEMNED, why? OUR SINS have been nailed to HIS cross and HIS righteousness without the LAW imputed to our account!

He that believes on the SON is NOT CONDEMNED, why? OUR SINS have been nailed to HIS cross and HIS righteousness without the LAW imputed to our account!
so is that verse true or not?

it says "practiced" "righteousness" or "wickedness"

I already answered....do with it as you please......your works will not get you there or keep you there and for sure you do not keep the law......

YES or NO<----Do you keep the LAW

See if you can answer with a tirade and wall of posts to side step a simple answer.......
