1 Timothy 2:12
I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent.

1 Corinthians 14: 34-35
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission,
as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home;
for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

All the more reason that she is false and if anyone wants to be ignorant just ask them who you going to believe Joyce Meyer or God? Hmmm.. let's see what God has to say about her in 1 Timothy 2:12 and 1 Corinthians 14: 34-35.

NodMyHeadLikeYeah, it's not about liking what she says with all her beautiful makeup and everything even if she says all the right things with her fair speeches (Romans 16:18) they are still going AGAINST God's Word according to 1 Timothy 2:12 and 1 Corinthians 14: 34-35 and doing so you are rebelling against God Himself.

Do you not care what God thinks or what you think is more important? That what you think and what God thinks is not the same unless you line your mind up with the Word.

Romans 12:2
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

"What Should You Believe?"
"What Should You Believe?" is the title to chapter 4 (page 35) and the chapter I will focus on. Since the book's title implies that its purpose is to help someone to make "the most important decision (they) will ever make," we can assume that this chapter will discuss the facts whereby they may make an intelligent decision.

Joyce writes, "During that time He entered hell, where you and I deserved to go (legally) because of our sin. He paid the price there. ...no plan was too extreme. ... Jesus paid on the cross and in hell." (Underlining in the original) On page 36, she continues....... God rose up from His throne and said to demon powers tormenting the sinless Son of God, 'Let Him go.' Then the resurrection power of Almighty God went through hell and filled Jesus. ...He was resurrected from the dead - the first born-again man. (Underlining in the original.)

The first subchapter heading is, "WHAT HAPPENED ON THE CROSS?" (Caps and underlining in the original) The heading is similar to Kenneth Copeland's infamous tape, "What Happened From The Cross To The Throne" (I 984) in which he goes into great detail about the subject. Copeland apparently borrowed the title from E. W. Kenyon's book by the same name as well as the same heretical theme. Joyce no doubt has been greatly influenced by both these men. Both works are Charismatic "classics."
In this subchapter she writes, "His spirit went to hell because that is where we deserved to go. Remember in the very beginning of this, I said, 'When you die, only your body dies. The rest of you, your soul and spirit, goes either to heaven or hell."'
"There is no choice of anyone going to heaven unless they believe this truth I am presenting. You cannot go to heaven unless you believe with all your heart that Jesus took your place in hell." (Underlining added.)

What she's just covered is the classical (and damnable) Word/Faith "Born-Again Jesus Gospel." It's been espoused by the likes of Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Fred Price, John Jacobs, Charles Capps, Benny Hinn, Jan Crouch, and (locally) David Crank just to name a few. It's usually presented under the guise of "revelation knowledge" given by the Holy Ghost and based upon Scripture. Odd how none of these folks give credit to the originators of this heresy but rather credit (in reality, blame) such blasphemy on the Holy Spirit.

With Joyce Meyer, it is not about the fact that she is disobeying the scriptures. Actually, as I understand it, she actually preaches to women, so not so much of an issue (if that is the case). The strongest reason Joyce is wrong is because she belongs to the heretical Word of Faith mob. She has been trained in the scientology/Catholic/mind cult of positive confession and hence preaches the same false prosperity gospel.

She does not actually teach the Bible except where she can find a "convenient" verse to quote which matches her false teachings. She actually focuses on "right thinking". These "thinkings" are based upon HER perspective of what works for her (at least that is what she claims).

What a disgrace. These people don't just do damage to themselves but also to the church, their penalty must be worse then an unbeliever's.

Matthew 18:6
If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble,
it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

This is also the case and is a big issue from the beginning, there is no exception woman preaching to woman in church.

The rest i agree with what you have said. (a sugar coated prosperity gospel) but this common nowadays.

she doesnt teach truth that will set woman free.....she teaches them to see their wounds(unforgiveness towards others)
worst yet is the impact she has on men(loosely used term) they are like brainwashed soldiers.

Hi Cronjecj

Do you believe that women are not permitted to teach other women? Paul told Timothy regarding widows that the older women should teach the younger women how to live their Christian lives. Is that not a direct permission that women can teach women?

I wasn't saying that women teaching men wasn't an issue. In the Bible it IS an issue (therefore an issue for me). The point I was making is that the MAIN reason Joyce is a false teacher was because of the group she represented and the false message she taught.

There are other threads that focus on the women teachers issue, therefore I thought it best not to raise that issue AGAIN here but focus HERE on the false message of Word of Faith.

Titus 2

Qualities of a Sound Church

1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,[a] 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Thanks AnandaHya. They were the verses I was referring to. I thought it was in Timothy in relation to the widows. I was wrong. As you can see, the context shows that the older women are the teachers of good things TO the younger women about how to behave at home in their families.

I listen to her all the time and have heard none of this. Who else can you read from your God haters group. There sure is a lot of you. Joyce Meyers does more to help poor people and spread the word of God than you.

She's funny. I like to learn something from someone funny. Besides, the Spirit of God wasn't just given to Adam it was given to Eve as well. And with that same spirit, we have power to speak, preach, and pray.
