Bibleman, Post 17 "Additionally, as I said before, not only would I overpower the serpent, but I would go in there with a chainsaw, and prune the Tree of Knowledge so that only it's highest branches remained. I'd likely even trim it so that the lowest twigs were at least 25 feet above ground level, and the lowest large limbs and handholds were at least 15 feet above the ground. And then I would gather up every single fruit, twig, stick, and branch, bag all the debris together, fly to Kilauea's crater, and dump it all into the lava. With the Tree of Knowledge pruned like that, nobody would ever be able to even climb it, let alone eat it's fruits. And had nobody ever eaten the forbidden fruit, Hell would be really empty, and Satan and his demons would have the isolation they deserve!
" I would go in there with a chainsaw, and prune the Tree of Knowledge" Really?? By what/who's authority would you deem to interfere with God's PERFECT plan??

AND BTW....the ONLY reason there is suffering is because people do NOT understand the spiritual realm. They do not understand their identity in Christ...Christ suffered FOR us...so that we would NOT have to. And sadly, that is what most of those who call themselves "Christian" do NOT understand...let alone truly believe. We ALL get exactly what we believe we should have...whether it is from God or from the devil. We get what we ASK for (remember the tongue is a POWERFUL tool!) from God when according to His will, and we get every negative thing we SPEAK about ourselves because the devil is much obliged (sp).
How many times does one say "I am so sick of", "I am so fat," "I am so ugly", "I can't remember", "I will never figure this out, " " I will just die if ... ...the list goes on!!
Those born of God, truly Born of God, SHOULD be walking in divine health; mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. With Christ IN US and we in Him...where does sickness, disease, poverty, or any other negative thing even have a place??? And don't go off on a tangent of "oh but we live in a fallen world!" Really?? I live in the Kingdom of God!! I am a member of the Kingdom of God! Bought and paid for by HIM!! My mental, physical, spiritual and emotional states of being ALL reside in the Kingdom! "The Kingdom is at hand!" "the Kingdom is withIN us! We CARRY the Kingdom of God within us! Can there be lack of any kind in that Kingdom? NO

Everyday I go to work (though two college degrees and one ministerial) delivering food from a restaurant (not pizza), I ask God for Favor with customers for tips. Every day I make anywhere freom $15.00 per hour to $23.00 per hour. That is favor!!!
I could go on...but do you get the point?? Most "Christians" are living lives of lack and negativity and that is NOT what God intended for us...it's just that the church long ago, stopped teaching what our true identity IS!

Not at all. I just now my Father and that He loves to bless me. He is awesome at blessing those that obey. He is also quick to give a Holy Spirit Gibbs slap with I screw up. It's not just about the money. I try to live my whole life that way...the physical, the emotional, the mental and the spiritual....so I take authority over health issues, over finances, I ask for Wisdom concerning decisions and do my best to LIVE in the Spirit.
That you would immediately jump in with "Prosperity Gospel" pretty much makes my point.

question... wouldn't sin still enter into the world when a body corrupted by sin traveled back in time to that point?

How Clever! Of course! The one WITH SIN could not go back and remove the opportunity for the sin to occur because it would cause the one with sin to VANISH!!

The Movie "Looper" really explains it quite well...depsite the (pointless) nudity.

Anyone ever think rather than getting all worked up over this post, that its just a fantasy, and maybe meant for fun? I mean, its not like its even realistic. Think some of you need to loosen up.

Yes, I very much realize that time travel only exists in the realm of science fiction. Therefore, there is no way for either me or any person to go back in time and stop sin from entering our world. And truthfully, it does put feelings into me that man has literally and truly failed to replace Satan as Earth's ruler, and not only does man deserve Hell, but perhaps man should not even be on Earth anymore due to his failure (courtesy of Matthew 5:32). Sometimes I even think that Noah should never have even built the ark, and that maybe Noah should have said to God; "Lord, we have also failed you badly. Therefore, we have chosen to die in the flood. And you would be very righteous to condemn us for eternity for our failures."

Mayube id go back in time and fix this about america. people here demonize any sort of nudity ion movies yet glorify the violence. As if somehow a naked body is so much worse than the visualizations of gruesome murders....

Bibleman,

I totally understand your good intentions and your motive. But its probably better not to mess with God's plan. Isn't God all knowing? Doesn't he know your needs before you even ask him for help? He definetly knows the future. He knew about the fall of Adam and Eve before he created them. Therefore what happened in the Garden of Eve was all part of his marvelous plan. Again I say your motives are good and I respect that, but God had a wonderful plan laid out from the begginning. Im sure Adam and Eve learned a VERY great lesson as well.

If you went back and prevent those events you would never have been born.
But if he had never been born, how would he have been able to go back in time to prevent himself from being born in the first place?

Additionally, if I had a time machine and could go back to Adam and Eve, I would also tell Adam and Eve about Hell, especially how real (and horrible) it is. I would tell them that Hell is a place of eternal pain, agony, and torment, made for Satan and his demons, but that if they disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit, they would also go there. I would also tell them that if they ate the forbidden fruit, they may not physically die right away, but they would most certainly immediately die spiritually.

What Pride and audacity to think that YOU could change the Will of God; To think that YOU could intervene in His divine plan to thwart what He ordained as "PERFECT" and for what purpose?? So that you would not have to suffer? Or you would not have to make a Choice and be held accountable for it? Really?? So that we would then be all robotic in our response to Him? OR...and I truly doubt that this ever entered your mind....so that Jesus would not have to suffer on our account? But wait....if you went back and removed the opportunity to partake of the forbidden fruit from Adam and Eve, there would be no NEED of Jesus!!
I can only hope that you are a relatively new Christian and therefore, zealous, but not necessarily savvy on the ways of the Lord. if that is the case, then I do applaud your zeal but suggest you keep diligently reading His word so that you can better understand WHY He did the things that He did.
Maggie
But then, once again, if nobody had ever partaken the forbidden fruit, not only would Jesus never have had to suffer that awful, brutal crucifixion, but Hell would be really empty of human beings.

Jesus may have came to save us and undo the damage caused by Adam and Eve, but it still does not erase the fact that there are hundreds, possibly thousands, of commandments that now have to be followed and obeyed in order to earn salvation and eternal life (Matthew 5:17-20, Matthew 5:48, Matthew 7:13-14, Matthew 7:21-23, John 14:15, and others). Before the fall of man, there was only one commandment for mankind personally; No eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. And that commandment was easier than a piece of cake to follow. The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was only 1 tree in the entire garden, out of possibly dozens if not hundreds of other fruit trees, including the Tree of Life. But now, there are many hundreds if not thousands of commandments, which are heavy, burdensome, and tremendously hard to nearly impossible to follow, including the command to get properly baptised, only one proper way of baptism, commands of paying tithes, commands of turning the other cheek and such to attackers, doing double of what one's enemies ask of them, literally like commands to spend all of Earthly life in limbo, and that anyone who does not spend their Earthly lives in limbo is thrown into Hell.

Bibleman read the bible please. If you can keep those commandments without fail. Then I will bow before you. because you will have done what no man in history or present has done. Therefore I place my faith in the work of the cross. There i am justified. There I am sanctified. When I arrive in heaven the cross will give me freely a robe of righteousness and nothing that I have done or kept.
