well this time Obama won both electoral and popular. Face out conservatism is a dying principle, thank God.
Yeah and he won the popular vote by a thin margin, overall it's just a speed bump for conservatism. In the late 60s and 70s everyone thought conservatism was dying, and then Reagan brought it roaring back and it dominated America for 12 years (1980-1992). So look out, because as soon as we find our next Reagan (like the Democrats finally found their Reagan in Obama) Conservatism will come roaring back all over again.

And as far as atheists expressing rage against god, that's a little ridiculous because they have no belief in a god, how can they possibly hate or dislike one? If you have any emotion towards a god then you are, by definition, not an atheist.
In all fairness, I do know some self-proclaimed atheists who seem to hate God, not just the people who follow him. I'd say it's a minority, but they do exist.

When they wouldn't have to be obstructionists if Obama would actually try to meet them somewhere in the middle. Honestly despite Obama's talk he's probably the least flexible president in recent history.
Excuse me? What are you smoking?

Bush and Clinton both got things done with congresses in the opposite party because those congresses were working with them -- both the republican congress with Clinton and the democratic congress with Bush. It's fact, not opinion, that this congress has put up more stumbling blocks against this president in the past 2 years than at any other time in history.

For Thor's sake, the republicans routinely vote AGAINST bills that they themselves authored just because Obama decides he likes them. That's happened at least a half-dozen times this year. The republicans in congress have said out loud that they are purposely trying to destroy this country under Obama's watch so that he'll take the blame. If that's not obstructionist I don't know what is.

Great Caesar's Ghost, do you really believe what you wrote?

I'm really quite baffled here. If they claim to hate god then they aren't, by definition, atheists. I mean, I could see someone hating the IDEA of god, but if they say that they hate god then they just aren't atheists. Maybe agnostics or deists, but they couldn't possibly be atheists. It's a contradiction.

Yeah, and Obama has also been the most divisive President in history apart form Lincoln.

After two years of Democrats forcing bills through Congress (Pelosi's famous "We have to pass the bill to know whats in it" line comes to mind) I can hardly blame them for not wanting to work with a president that resides on the complete opposite end of the political spectrum.

Great Caesar's Ghost, do you really believe what you wrote?
Actually yes and I also believe it's not all Bush's fault too. Basically we're going to have to get used to gridlock barring a massive shake up in 2014 one way or the other.

That won't happen. America hates God.

I will not be a part of America's hatred for God.

James 4:4
You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
You are certainly not correct, Swiss person! If America hated God, He would not have allowed President Obama to be elected once, much less Re-Elected by comfortable margins to do great things for the nation's people, a great many of whom are religious! But it sure looks like you won't have to be a part of America since you are way off in Switzerland. And let's not forget that it's your country that appears to hate God with your egregious and infamous Swiss Bank Accounts that are so prolific and that surely God would never approve of. Just go back to playing with your army knives since we have little use for your country.

"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest, not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye." -- LUKE 6:41-42 (KJV)

No one said they were rational. I know, it doesn't make sense to me, either, but there it is.

It doesn't make sense because it's a contradiction. It's impossible. An atheist can't by definition, hate god.

I know. They claim to be atheists, but they aren't. Thus the phrase "self-proclaiming" in my original post.

Ah, ok, makes sense. So do they say they hate god? Because I've never had an atheist tell me they hate god, so I'm just wondering why you think that.

Amusing.

You apparently have not learned much from the prophets of the Old Testament.

I'll give you an easy one, Hosea 8:4.

a great many of whom are religious!
Being religious doesn't always equate to being Born-Again.

But it sure looks like you won't have to be a part of America since you are way off in Switzerland.
Your track record thus far is not faring well.

And let's not forget that it's your country that appears to hate God with your egregious and infamous Swiss Bank Accounts that are so prolific and that surely God would never approve of.
You're going to have to explain what about the bank accounts is sinful?

Just go back to playing with your army knives since we have little use for your country.

I have never met someone who considers him or herself an atheist who will come out and say that, but I've met several who, after talking to them, it becomes clear that they aren't really atheists but .... Well, a friend of mine likes to refer to them as "Roaming Catholics" .... They really are just pissed off at God; they haven't gotten over it yet.

I know, people predicted the end of the world after his first election, and things have actually improved. Not a lot, but we're definitely on an up-tick now. Somehow, Barack has manager to turn the economy around. Kinda makes all that moaning sound like Henny Penny.

Actually, I think some of them should be. Anyone who has said on the record that they have voted against or for certain bills not because they agreed or disagreed with the legislation, but just to stop Obama, need to be removed from congress. And yes, I don't remember which one it was, but one is on record as saying, "Yes, this legislation would have been great for America, but it's more important to beat Obama."

If your goal is to overthrow the government, and you don't care who gets hurt in the process, then yes, you should be tried for treason.

hey monkey pants I wasn't crying over spilled milk I was saying that the electoral college is ultimately what makes the decision not the people. in essence one can when the popular vote and still lose the presidency. So don't get your boxers in a wedgie so fast
Hey Tearfully Hidden, I'm glad you weren't crying over spilled milk but many were and simply did not understand how the system here in America works to elect the president. That's what this is all about. President Obama won Fair And Square in this election. No shenanigans, nothing brought out except for the fact that the message and the vision the Republicans were putting forth was simply *NOT* resonating with the rest of the country. As for crossed boxers, well, it is not I who has them, just take a look in the mirror already. :)

The Commerce Clause of our Constitution is an enumerated power listed in Article I, Section 8, Clause 3 which states that the United States Congress shall have power "To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes."

Obama is currently "freelancing" the executive branch to push through a secret treaty to regulate commerce in the United States that allows for foreign corporations operating in the US to appeal regulations to an international tribunal that could over rule American laws. This is a secret backdoor strategy and it's completely out of line.

With this, Obama has utterly broken his campaign promise of transparency in government.

Here's to moving backwards.
Hi Lil! Those four words are exactly what the majority of the nation's voters were thinking would happen if Romney won the White House which is why they voted to Re-Elect President Obama by a vast majority of electoral votes as well as the popular vote!
