Now why was Paul so intent on getting his point of edifying across to the church? Was it because they were acting like a bunch of heathens? Probably.
Ephesians 4:29 seems to be a problem here in the forums. Yes, I have said things that may not have seemed to be edifying, most of the times it is the way I word things. I take responsibility for these things and ask forgiveness of anybody that I have not edified by my words.
We are here to help one another grow spiritually in our walk with Christ. I understand that there are other threads that are created for the purpose of entertainment and fun, not edification, but even there we can instruct, benefit, uplift each other. What I am getting at is we need to lift one another up, enlighten, benefit each other spiritually and morally, and strengthen others where it is needed. Do this all in love, love one another with the love of the LORD! God loves you, Jesus loves you, and I love you! May God bless and keep you all!
