I was born with Chronic pain and it can get very painful, especially if I don't work out. I make sure I work out for an hour a day and that helps reduce the pain but there is always pain thanks to my chronic pain illness. I am definitely thankful that working out does help and I feel much better after my workouts :) working out is so good for us.
Today was legs, shoulders and abs day for me!

I did get in some cardio earlier, but I'm going to try to get my workout in tonight. I had three days scheduled off. Yesterday became day four. I'm just so tired.. no energy lol. I'll be starting the intensity portion of my routine. I believe tonight is chest & back.

Went hard this evening. Is it possible to be addicted to breaking into a serious sweat? Anyhow, skipping workout tomorrow because of an afternoon blood donation

Interesting discussion, Descyple.
I completely identify with what they're saying in terms of being less susceptible to depression and such post workout.
It makes sense to me...humbling ourselves physically by maintaining a healthy diet, fitness, sleep routines

Last year at this time, end of august, I checked to see what my maxes were for the squat-bench and deadlift after 6 months of lifting. I wrote it down in a log book with the rest of my workouts. My total for the 3 lifts was 1065.

I'm going to check again next week. What I find the most interesting about lifting weights is that what my maxes were last year for 1 rep I can now get 7-10 reps with.

Except bench. I hurt my shoulder last year and couldn't bench with heavy weight for about 6-7 months. So my bench is about the same, maybe 10lbs higher.

When I found out that having a total over 1000lbs for the 3 lifts was a milestone I wondered what the next one was. The first one I achieved without really even knowing about it.

The next one I wanted to get to was 500, 400, 300 which is a 1200 lb total. I'm really close right now. I think I am over the mark in squats but just under in deadlifts and bench. I'll find out for sure next week.

Nice progress ^ When you can hit those old maxes with more reps, you know you're doing something right.

I got my workout in early tonight. After a few days away from the gym, it was good to get back. Tomorrow is going to be legs, calves, and abs. I'm looking forward to being sore the next day lol

You're very welcome. I can understand what they mean as well, regarding exercise affecting other parts of our lives. Exercise and proper diet is not all about "looking good", they have so many more benefits that affects literally every other part of our lives in positive ways. Because of that, I couldn't imagine ever deciding to stop working out or biking. That would be a loss of way too many blessings!

For those people who give up working out after just one workout because they feel weak, have no energy, and can only do one push-up - don't quit! With persistence and patience, your body will adapt! And as you increase resistance, your body and muscles have no choice but to get stronger. You just have to stick with it, one push-up at a time!!!

I like it. But you need to be able to at least walk on squat day. And everyone knows that squat day is on monday...


I watch this vine called Batdad sometimes, its really funny. Batdad is giving his wife Jen motivation as she goes to the gym. He yells to her, "GET SWOLE".... "DO SQUATS". If you haven't seen it, its time...
